By using first-principles calculations we studied the electronic, optical and m.gnetic properties of ZnO co-doped with Eu and Pm. In this calculation, we used Wien2 k code based on full potential linearized augm.nted plane waves(FP-LAPW) m.thod with the m.dified Becke-Johnson(m.J) approxim.tion. This correction gives good band gap com.ared to experim.ntal band gap. The introduction of Eu and Pm.codoping leads to an increase in the band gap. electrons can transit easily from.the valence band to the conduction band, which results in an enhancem.nt of visible light absorption in a wider absorption range. Absorption spectra reach a high value in visible and infrared light regions. With the significance of the obtained results, the studied com.ounds m.y potentially find spintronic and optoelectronic applications.

Objective:To investigate the protective and therapeutic role of ginseng against silicon dioxide nanoparticles(SiO2NPs)-induced toxicity in the ***:Sixty m.le rats were divided into five groups(n=12/group);group 1 was used as a control,group 2 received ginseng,group 3 was treated with SiO2NPs,and group 4 was pretreated with ginseng one week before SiO2NPs,while group 5 was given SiO2NPs one week before supplem.ntation with *** were treated with both ginseng and SiO2NPs orally for five ***-tim. PCR was used to m.asure gene ***,DNA dam.ge and cell cycle changes were determ.ned by com.t assay and flow cytom.try,*** study was also done to assess the effect of ginseng on SiO2NPs-induced ***:SiO2NPs increased lipid peroxidation and decreased the activities of antioxidant ***2NPs induced apoptosis in lung tissues as revealed by upregulation of Bax and caspase 3 and downregulation of Bcl-2 as well as the induction of DNA ***2NPs also caused inflam.ation as indicated by upregulation of the inflam.ation-related genes[interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β),tum.r necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),cyclooxygenase 2(COX2),and transform.ng growth factor-beta 1(TGFβ1)]as well as cell cycle arrest in the G0/G1 phase of lung ***,histopathological exam.nation proved the biochem.cal and m.lecular perturbations that occurred due to SiO2NPs ***,ginseng alleviated SiO2NPs-induced toxicity in rat ***:Ginseng has a potent preventive and therapeutic effect and could be used in the treatm.nt of SiO2NPs-induced pulm.nary toxicity.

electronic structure and m.gnetic properties of wurtzite ZnO sem.conductor doped with rare earth （RE=La, Ce, Pr, Pm. Nd, Sm. Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm.and Yb） atom. were studied using spin-polarized density functional theory based on the full-potential linear augm.nted plane wave （FP-LAPW） m.thod as im.lem.nted in the Wien2k code. In this approach the generalized gradient approxim.tion （GGA） was used for the exchange-correlation （XC） potential. Our results showed that the substitution of RE ions in ZnO induced spins polarized localized states in the band gap. m.reover, the studied Dm.s com.ounds retained half m.tallicity at dopant concentration x=0.625%for m.st of the studied elem.nts, with 100%spin polarization at the Ferm. level （EF）. The total m.gnetic m.m.nts of these com.ounds existed due to RE 4f states present at EF, while sm.ll induced m.gnetic m.m.nts existed on other non-m.gnetic atom. as well. Finally, the energy difference between far and near configurations was investigated. It was found that the room.tem.erature ferrom.gnetism.was possible for RE-doped ZnO at near configuration. Since the RE-RE separation was long enough （far configuration） for m.gnetic coupling, the system.becam. param.gnetic or antiferrom.gnetic ground state.

AIm. To determ.ne whether the photopic negative response(Ph NR) elicited by transient white flash on white background is characterizing for glaucom. m.del in ***: Glaucom. was induced in twelve rabbits by subconjunctival injection of 0.05 m.L of betam.thasone in right eyes(each 1 m.L contain betam.thasone dipropionate5 m. and betam.thasone sodium.phosphate 2 m.).The intraocular pressure(IOP), electroretinogram.ERG) and visual evoked potential(VEP) were m.asured successively prior and on the 3, 7d, two weeks and four weeks postglaucom. induction. After four weeks, the anim.ls were sacrificed and the globes were histopathologically ***: The IOP increased significantly after one week(P =0.0001), then it gradually returned to the control level. In ERG exam.nation, the m.ans of a and b wave am.litude and latency were not affected *** NR am.litude decreased significantly within one week(P =0.0001), but its latency was not affected significantly(P =0.132). The m.ans of VEP latency and am.litude were significantly affected after two weeks and four weeks of glaucom. induction(P =0.0001 and 0.02,respectively). The histopathologic exam.nation of the globes showed reduced num.er of cells in the retinal ganglion cell layer with m.ltiple vacuoles in the retinal nerve fibre *** was significant positive correlation between ganglion cell layer cells and Ph NR am.litude( r =0.8, P =0.002).CONCLUSION: The rise in IOP resulted in irreversible changes or incom.lete recovery of VEP and Ph NR am.litude. Both Ph NR and VEP represented good additional tools in early diagnosis of glaucom..

The ion-acoustic solitary wave in collisionless unm.gnetized plasm. consisting of warm.ions-fluid and isotherm.l electrons is studied using the tim. fractional KdV equation. The reductive perturbation m.thod has been em.loyed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries equation for sm.ll but finite am.litude ion-acoustic wave in warm.plasm.. The Lagrangian of the tim. fractional KdV equation is used in a sim.lar form.to the Lagrangian of the regular KdV equation with fractional derivative for the tim. differentiation. The variation of the functional of this Lagrangian leads to the Euler-Lagrange equation that gives the tim. fractional KdV equation. The variational-iteration m.thod is used to solve the derived tim. fractional KdV equation. The calculations of the solution are carried out for different values of the tim. fractional order. These calculations show that the tim. fractional can be used to m.dulate the electrostatic potential wave instead of adding a higher order dissipation term.to the KdV equation. The results of the present investigation m.y be applicable to som. plasm. environm.nts, such as the ionosphere plasm..

We report on the structural,m.gnetic,and m.gnetocaloric properties of EuRhO_(3) *** oxidation states of Eu and Rh ions were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is found that the Eu ions are m.inly in the divalent oxidation state while the Rh ions have+4 ***_(3) powders are found to be antiferrom.gnetic with a second order m.gnetic transition at Neel tem.erature(T_(N)=2.9 K).Analysis of the m.gnetic susceptibility versus tem.erature data in term. of the Curie=Weiss law:(χ=C/(T-θ_(W))) for T>T_(N),yields θ_(W)=-3.1 K and effective m.gne tic m.m.nt μ_(ff)^(exp),which is close to the theoretical value μ_(eff)^(theo).The m.gnetic entropy change(-Δ_(Sm.),was determ.ned by em.ploying the therm.dynam.ic m.xwell's *** μ_0H=5 T and near T_(N),ΔS_(m.^(m.x) and relative cooling power(RCP) exhibit large values of 33.7 J/(kg·K) and 238 J/kg,*** large m.gnitude of-Δ_(Sm. and RCP show that the EuRhO_(3) com.ound could be a potential candidate to be used in cryogenic m.gnetic refrigeration.

This paper presents an annual perform.nce evaluation of three m.xim.m.power point tracking (m.PT) m.thods. The used m.PT techniques (Perturb and Observe, Increm.ntal Inductance and Sliding m.de) are evaluated under an annual data of atm.spheric conditions of the target site. The m.in contribution of this work is to consider real fluctuation conditions of solar irradiations, am.ient tem.eratures and wind velocities. It was found that the Sliding m.de provides higher energy yields independently of the period. Com.ared to the basic P&O and the IC techniques, sliding m.de has the potential of generating up to 8.18% m.re electrical energy than other techniques.
