In this paper, we use a dynamical systems approach to prove the existence of traveling waves solutions for the Fisher-Kolmogorov density-dependent equation. Moreover, we prove the existence of upper and lower bounds for these traveling wave solutions found previously. Finally, we present a particular example which has several applications in the mathematical biology field.

Organic photovoltaic devices are on the verge of commercialization with power conversion efficiencies exceeding 10 % in laboratory cells and above 8.5 % in modules. However, one of the main limitations hindering their mass scale production is the debatable inferior stability of organic photovoltaic devices in comparison to other *** donor/acceptor morphology of the active layer is required to provide carrier separation and transport to the electrodes. Unfortunately, the beneficial morphology for device performance is usually a kinetically frozen state which has not reached thermodynamic equilibrium. During the last 5 years, special efforts have been dedicated to isolate the effects related to morphology changes taking place within the active layer and compare to those affecting the interfaces with the external electrodes. the current review discusses some of the factors affecting the donor/acceptor morphology evolution as one of the major intrinsic degradation pathways. Special attention is paid to factors in the nano- and microscale *** example, phase segregation of the polymer and fullerene domains due to Ostwald ripening is a major factor in the microscale domain and is affected by the presence of additives, glass transition temperature of the polymers or use of crosslinkers in the active layer. Alternatively, the role of vertical segregation profile toward the external electrodes is key for device operation, being a clear case of nanoscale morphology evolution. For example, donor and acceptor molecules actually present at the external interfaces will determine the leakage current of the device, energy-level alignment, and interfacial recombination processes. Different techniques have been developed over the last few years to understand its relationship with the device efficiency. We present in this paper a new mathematical model for the scheduling of angiogenic inhibitors in combination with a chemotherapeutic agent for a tumor. Our model takes into account the process of angiogenesis and the quality of the vasculature discriminating between stable blood vessels and unstable blood vessels. We characterize theoretically the optimal controls on drug distribution to minimize the number of cancer cells at the end of the treatment in a free horizon time problem with restrictions on the total amount of drug doses. Finally, we solve the optimal control problem by using numerical simulations, obtaining as a result that, despite the number of the tumor cells decrease with anti-angiogenic treatment, the best results are reached at the end of the chemotherapy treatment.

A simple method to synthesise hexagonal lead sheets,which belong to the class of two-dimensional materials,is *** objects are collected on a substrate located under two lead electrodes, between which nanosecond-pulsed spark discharges are ignited in liquid *** hexagonal sheets are single crystals produced by gas phase *** nitrogen completely evaporates,the sheets change to PbO2by oxidation in *** oxidation process induces stress that pleats the uppermost sheets or open cracks at the *** thickness of the individual objects typically varies from 4to *** the number of discharges is more than about 2000,in addition to sheets,two types of PbO2 sticks start to form:bundles composed of nanosticks (length 5p.m and diameter 50nm)and isolated sticks (length 20μm and diameter 500nm).these new nanostructures mainly form because of the way the discharge erodes the lead ***,anisotropic erosion driven by the orientation of the crystallographic planes of the lead crystals produces octahedra and nanosticks,and the nanosticks grow on the electrode surfaces as discharge *** about 2000discharges,the nanosticks are sufficiently long that they can be easily broken,probably by mechanical stress,and they fall onto the underlying substrate.

AIM:to describe epidemiological aspects,clinical findings,and visual results in eye trauma patients requiring urgent surgery at a tertiary ***:Retrospective review of adult patients requiring urgent surgery for trauma.to the eyeball from January 2010 and April *** was collected relative to age,gender,mechanism of the injury,type of wound,initial and final visual acuity,number and type of surgeries carried *** were classed according to the Birmingham Eye trauma.terminology(BEtt)and the Ocular trauma Score(OtS)***:the survey included 92 *** age was 54.76±22.18 *** most frequent cause was domestic accidents(44.6%),followed by aggression(22.80%)and occupational accidents(17.4%).trauma from aggression was more frequent in men(P=0.006)and accidents in the home more common in women(P=0.011).Patients over 65 y presented an odds ratio(OR)of 10.71 for suffering a domestic *** between 15-45 and 46-65 y were at higher risk of trauma from aggression(OR=17.52 and OR=10.94,respectively).As for the type of injury,63.04%were open-globe lesions,Zone II being the most frequently affected(27.2%).In Logistic regression analysis,old age(P=0.05)and retinal involvement(P=0.001)were found to be associated with higher rate of unfavourable visual ***:the epidemiological aspects of eye trauma are highly dependent on the area of population *** accidents are more relevant than workplace accidents in older urban areas with high socioeconomic status.A better knowledge of the epidemiological characteristics is useful for implementing specific prevention measures and appropriate treatment strategies.
