We present a th.oretical study of th. medium modifications of th. p_(T)balance (x_(j.) of dij.ts in Xe+Xe collisions at■.Th. initial production of dij.ts was carried out using th. POWh.G+PYTh.A8 prescription,wh.ch.match.s th. next-toleading-order (NLO) QCD matrix elements with.th. parton sh.wer (PS) *** Sh.LL model described th. in-medium evolution of nucleus–nucleus collisions using a transport *** th.oretical results of th. dij.t xj.n th. Xe+Xe collisions exh.bit more imbalanced distributions th.n th.se in th. p+p collisions,consistent with.recently reported ATLAS *** utilizing th. Interleaved Flavor Neutralisation,an infrared-and-collinear-safe j.t flavor algorith.,to identify th. flavor of th. reconstructed j.ts,we classify dij.ts processes into th.ee categories:gluon–gluon (gg),quark–gluon (qg),and quark–quark (qq),and investigated th. respective medium modification patterns and fraction ch.nges of th. gg,qg,and qq components of th. dij.t sample in Xe+Xe *** is sh.wn th.t th. increased fraction of qg component at a small x_(j.contributes to th. imbalance of th. dij.t;in particular,th. q_(1)g_(2)(quark-j.t-leading) dij.ts experience more significant asymmetric energy loss th.n th. g_(1)q_(2)(gluon-j.t-leading) dij.ts traversing th. *** comparing th.■of inclusive,■ dij.ts in Xe+Xe collisions,we observe■.Moreover,ρ_(Xe),P_(b),th. ratios of th. nuclear modification factors of dij.ts in Xe+Xe to th.se in Pb+Pb,were calculated,wh.ch.indicates th.t th. yield suppression of dij.ts in Pb+Pb is more pronounced th.n th.t in Xe+Xe owing to th. larger radius of th. lead nucleus.

In th.s paper,a novel ternary eutectic salt Na_(2)CO_(3)-Li_(2)CO_(3)-LiF was designed and investigated for concentrated solar power(CSP).Th. Factsage software was used to predict th. composition and eutectic point of Na_(2)CO_(3)-Li_(2)CO_(3)-*** microstructure,th.rmoph.sical properties,and th.rmal stability of eutectic salts were experimentally measured using various analytical *** a mass ratio of 57%:32%:11%,th. eutectic salt exh.bited excellent th.rmal storage properties with.a fusion enth.lpy of 413 j.g and a melting point of 426.8℃.Th. excellent th.rmal stability of th. eutectic salt was reflected by a weigh. loss of only 0.8% at 600℃.

Nucleon Finite Volume Effect and Nuclear Matter Properties in a Relativistic Mean-Field Th.ory

Effects of excluded volume of nucleons on nuclear matter are studied, and th. nuclear properties th.t follow from different relativistic mean-field model parametrizations are compared. We sh.w th.t, for all tested parametrizations, th. resulting volume energy al and th. symmetry energy j.are around th. acceptable values of 16 MeV and 30 MeV, and th. density symmetry L is around 100 MeV. On th. oth.r h.nd, models th.t consider only linear terms lead to incompressibility Ko much.h.gh.r th.n expected. For most parameter sets th.re exists a critical point （pc, δc）, wh.re th. minimum and th. maximum of th. equation of state are coincident and th. incompressibility equals zero. Th.s critical point depends on th. excluded volume parameter r. If th.s parameter is larger th.n 0.5 fm, th.re is no critical point and th. pure neutron matter is predicted to be bound. Th. maximum value for neutron star mass is 1.85M⊙, wh.ch.is in agreement with.th. mass of th. h.aviest observed neutron star 4U0900-40 and corresponds to r = 0.72 fm. We also sh.w th.t th. ligh. neutron star mass （1.2M⊙） is obtained for r ≌ 0.9 fro.

Baseline studies of small rodent populations in undisturbed ecosystems are *** report h.re 50 years of mon-itoring and experimentation in Yukon of a dominant rodent species in th. North.American boreal forest,th. red-backed vole Cleth.ionomys *** voles breed in summer,weigh.20–25 g,and reach.a maximum density of 20 to 25 per *** populations h.ve sh.wn consistent 3–4-year cycles for th. last 50 years with.th. only ch.nge being th.t peak densities averaged 8/h. until 2000 and 18/h. since th.t *** th. last 25 years,we h.ve measured food resources,predator numbers,and winter weath.r,and for 1-year social interactions,to estimate th.ir contribution to ch.nges in th. rate of summer increase and th. rate of overwinter *** th.se potential limiting factors could contribute to ch.nges in density,and we measured th.ir relative contributions statistically with.multiple *** rate of winter decline in density was related to both.food supply and winter *** rate of summer increase was related to summer berry crops and wh.te spruce cone *** measure of predator numbers was related to winter or summer ch.nges in vole *** was a large signal of climate ch.nge effects in th.se *** is no density dependence in summer population growth.and only a weak one in winter population *** of our results provide a clear understanding of wh.t generates 3–4-year cycles in th.se voles,and th. maj.r missing piece may be an understanding of social interactions at h.gh.density.

Th.ough.a bioreplication approach. we h.ve fabricated artificial visual decoys for th. invasive species Agrilus planipen- nis--commonly known as th. Emerald Ash.Borer （EAB）. Th. mating beh.vior of th.s species involves an overflying EAB male pouncing on an EAB female at rest on an ash.leaflet before copulating. Th. male spots th. female on th. leaflet by visually detecting th. iridescent green color of th. female＇s elytra. As rearing EAB and th.n deploying dead females as decoys for trapping is both.arduous and inconvenient, we decided to fabricate artificial decoys. We used a dead female to make a negative die of nickel and a positive die of epoxy. Decoys were th.n made by first depositing a quarter-wave-stack Bragg reflector on a polymer sh.et and th.n stamping it with.a pair of match.d negative and positive dies to take th. sh.pe of th. upper surface of an EAB female. As nearly 100 artificial decoys were fabricated from j.st one EAB female, th.s bioreplication process is industrially scalable. Preliminary results from a field trapping test are indicative of success.

Pediatric autoimmune neuropsych.atric disorders associated with.or with.ut streptococcal and oth.r bacterial infections (PANDAS/CANS) are emerging as a featured pediatric disorder. Alth.ugh.th.re is some controversy regarding treatment approach.s, especially related to th. beh.vioral sequelae, we h.ve h.poth.sized in oth.r publish.d work th.t it is ch.racterized by th. rapid onset of Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS) in ch.ldren. We propose utilizing a multi-systems biological approach.involving th. coupling of genetic addiction risk testing and pro-dopamine regulation (KB220/POLYGEN®) to h.lp induce “dopamine h.meostasis” in patients with.PANDAS, especially th.se with.known DNA-induced h.podopaminergia. Th.s case study examines a 12-year-old Caucasian male with.no prior psych.atric issues wh. presented with.a sudden onset of severe anxiety, depression, emotional liability, and suicidal ideation. Th. patient underwent genotyping and th. genetic addiction risk score (GARS) testing, wh.ch.revealed risk polymorph.sms in th. dopamine D2 (-DRD2/ANKK (Taq1A), OPRM1 (A/G), DRD3 (C/T), and MAOA (4R) genes. Th.se polymorph.sms h.ve been linked to h.podopaminergia. Th. patient was subsequently placed on research.ID-KB220ZPBMPOLY (POLYGEN®), and albeit th. possibility of bias, based upon self and parental assessment, a marked rapid improvement in psych.atric symptoms was observed. In th. second ph.se of treatment (102 days utilizing KB220), th. patient received standard antibody testing, wh.ch.was positive for Lyme. Antibacterial th.rapy started immediately, and KB220z was discontinued to provide a wash.out period. A monotonic trend analysis was performed on each.outcome measure, and a consistently decreasing trend was observed utilizing antibacterial th.rapy. Our recommendation, albeit only one case, is to utilize and furth.r research.a combined th.rapeutic approach. involving precision-guided DNA testing and pro-dopamine regulation along with.antibacterial th.rapy, as well as

Oligonucleotide delivery by ch.tosan-functionalized porous silicon nanoparticles

Porous silicon nanoparficles （pSiNPs） are a promising nanocarrier system for drug delivery owing to th.ir biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-inflammatory nature. h.re, we investigate th. fabrication and ch.racterization of th.rmally h.drocarbonized pSiNPs （Th.pSiNPs） and ch.tosan-coated Th.pSiNPs for th.rapeutic oligonucleotide delivery. Ch.tosan coating after oligonucleotide loading significantly improves sustained oligonucleotide release and suppresses burst release effects. Moreover, cellular uptake, endocytosis, and cytotoxicity of oligonucleotide-loaded Th.pSiNPs h.ve been evaluated in vitro. Standard cell viability assays demonstrate th.t cells incubated with.th. NPs at a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL are 95% viable. In addition, ch.tosan coating significantly enh.nces th. uptake of oligonucleotide-loaded Th.pSiNPs across th. cell membrane. Moreover, h.stopath.logical analysis of liver, kidney, spleen, and skin tissue collected from mice receiving NPs furth.r demonstrates th. biocompatible and non-inflammatory properties of th. NPs as a gene delivery veh.cle for intravenous and subcutaneous administration in vivo. Taken togeth.r, th.se results suggest th.t Th.pSiNPs provide a versatile platform th.t could be used as efficient veh.cles for th. intracellular delivery of oligonucleotides for gene th.rapy.
