A computer-automated Rutherford backscattering/channeling （RBS/c） system is developed to provide in situ ion beam analysis of the accelerator-TEM system in Wuhan University. The basic system components are a Pc equipped with a multichannel analyzer data acquisition board, motion control hardware including the Panmure stepping motor controller and integrated circuit modules, and a Labview programmed operating system with associated electronics. Single crystalline Si（001） and ZnO（001） implanted with Mn ions were characterized with this computerized setup. The crystalline quality Xmin and channeling half angle of Si（O01） were measured to be 4.65% and 0.52%, respectively, which are comparable to theoretical values 4.2% and 0.32%. The ion implantation induced damage depth profile derived from channeling and random spectrum is in reasonable agreement with the result calculated by the SRIM Monte-carlo simulation code.

The objective of this work is to analyze the fatigue reliability of complex welded structures composed of multiple web-frame joints, accounting for correlation effects. A three-dimensional finite element model using the 20-node solid elements is generated. A linear elastic finite element analysis was performed, hotspot stresses in a web-frame joint were analyzed and fatigue damage was quantified employing the S-N approach. The statistical descriptors of the fatigue life of a non-correlated web-frame joint containing several critical hotspots were estimated. The fatigue reliability of a web-frame joint wasmodeled as a series system of correlated components using the Ditlevsen bounds. The fatigue reliability of the entire welded structure with multiple web-frame joints, modeled as a parallel system of non-correlated web-frame joints was also calculated.

Objective: Essential oils are complex mixtures of chemical compounds, extracted from a wide range of plants. The volatile fraction of essential oils is responsible for their characteristic aroma and presents diverse biological properties that have been studied over the years. In Traditional chinese Medicine, Piper nigrum is considered to be pungent and hot. Although its chemical constituents and respective pharmacological properties have been described by several authors, the volatile fraction is still underestimated as a therapeutic agent. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic properties of the volatile fraction of Piper nigrum essential oil, in patients presenting different types of ***: Fifty-four patients presenting pain, were included in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, over a 9-week *** patients were randomly divided into two groups, and asked to inhale a vial containing Piper nigrum essential oil, or a vial containing a placebo(sesame oil), for 15 minutes. A numerical pain scale was applied before and after the ***: Results showed a statistically significant decrease in pain intensity in the patients that inhaled the black pepper essential oil, while the placebo group patients showed no significant change in pain ***: Although the results are preliminary due to the limited sample size and short inhalation time, the volatile fraction of the Piper nigrum essential showed promising results in reducing pain. In the chinese medicine perspective, these results support the use of black pepper in different types of pain, since it warms the center and disperses cold.

Systemic treatment strategies for triple-negative breast cancer

Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBc) is defined by the lack of immunohistochemical expression of the estrogen and progesterone receptors and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(EGFR2). Most TNBc has a basal-like molecular phenotype by gene expression profiling and shares clinical and pathological features with hereditary BRcA1 related breast cancers. This review evaluates the activity of available chemotherapy and targeted agents in TNBc. A systematic review of PubM ed and conference databases was carried out to identify randomised clinical trials reporting outcomes in women with TNBc treated with chemotherapy and targeted agents. Our review identified TNBc studies of chemotherapy and targeted agents with different mechanisms of action, including induction of synthetic lethality and inhibition of angiogenesis, growth and survival pathways. TNBc is sensitive to taxanes and anthracyclins. Platinum agents are effective in TNBc patients with BRcA1 mutation, either alone or in combination with poly adenosine diphosphate polymerase 1 inhibitors. combinations of ixabepilone and capecitabine have added to progression-free survival(PFS) without survival benefit in metastatic TNBc. Antiangiogenic agents, tyrosine kinase inhibitors and EGFR inhibitorsin combination with chemotherapy produced only modest gains in PFS and had little impact on survival. TNBc subgroups respond differentially to specific targeted agents. In future, the treatment needs to be tailored for a specific patient, depending on the molecular characteristics of their malignancy. TNBc being a chemosensitive entity, combination with targeted agents have not produced substantial improvements in outcomes. Appropriate patient selection with rationale combinations of targeted agents is needed for success.

Optic disc drusen (ODD) are hyaline deposits in the optic nerve head, occurring in approximately 2% of the population. ODD may be superficial and visible, or buried and either invisible or seen only as elevation of the optic disc, mimicking optic disc edema. Advanced optic nerve imaging, including optical coherence tomography (OcT) can be used to diagnose and characterize ODD with very high resolution. Enhanced depth imaging (EDI-OcT) in particular has emerged as the optimal modality to directly visualize ODD. This modality has led to a greater ability to differentiate ODD from optic disc edema and prevent misdiagnosis or invasive testing. We review the characteristic findings of ODD on OcT, their distinguishing features, and the use of OcT as a biomarker in the neuro-ophthalmic assessment of ODD.

charge density distribution in ampicillin trihydrate was investigated experimentally. Results were compared with the quantum calculations using density functional theory. The charge derived properties including Mulliken atomic charges, dipole moment, and molecular electrostatic potential were calculated. The multipole analysis was done for the refinement of experimental population parameters. The structure factors obtained from multipole treat- ment were used for the construction of Fourier maps. Topological properties of the charge distribution were discussed and the characteristics of （3, -1） critical points were analyzed.
