Thermal heat flux distribution prediction in an electrical vehicle battery cell using finite element analysis a.d neural network

In terms of battery design a.d evaluation,electric Vehicles(EVs)are receiving a great deal of attention as a modern,eco-friendly,sustainable transportation *** this paper,a novel battery pack is designed to maintain a uniform temperature distribution,allowing the battery to operate within its optimal temperature *** proposed battery design is part of a main channel where a portion of cool air will pass from an inlet then exit from an outlet where a uniform temperature distribution is ***,a 3-d model of a battery cell was created,followed by thermal simulation for 15C,25C,a.d 35C ambient *** simulation results reveal that the temperature distribution is nearly uniform,with slightly higher values in the middle portion of the cell ***,using finite element analysis(FEA),it was determined that the heat flux per unit area is nearly uniform with a slight increase at the ***,a machine learning model is proposed by utilizing a neural network(NN).Lastly,the heat flux values were predicted using the NN model that was *** model was assessed based on statistical measures where a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 0.87%was *** NN outperformed FEA in terms of time consumption with a high prediction accuracy,leveraging the potential of adopting machine learning over FEA in related operational assessments.

a.dynamic analysis of both twisting a.d regular towers is carried out to determine the results of considering soil-structure interaction(SSI)on high-rise *** a.dition,the difference between the seismic performance of using twisting towers over regular ones is *** twisting tower is a simulation of the Evolution Tower(Moscow).The towers’skeletons consist of RC elements a.d rest on a reinforced concrete piled-raft *** soil model is considered as multi-layered with the same soil properties as the zone chosen for the analysis(New Mansoura City,Egypt).The only difference between both towers is their shape in *** whole system is modelled a.d analyzed in a single step as one full 3d model,which is known as the direct approach in *** analyses are carried out using finite-element software(Midas GTS NX).dynamic output responses due to three records of seismic loads are proposed a.d presented in some *** on the results,it is concluded that SSI has a considerable effect on the dynamic response of tall buildings mainly because of the foundation flexibility,as it leads to lengthening the vibration period,increasing the story drift a.d the base shear for both cases.

Smart prediction of liquefaction-induced lateral spreading

The prediction of liquefaction-induced lateral spreading/displacement(dh)is a challenging task for civil/geotechnical *** this study,a new approach is proposed to predict dh using gene expression programming(GEP).Based on statistical reasoning,individual models were developed for two topographies:free-face a.d gently sloping *** with a comparison with conventional approaches for predicting the dh,four a.ditional regression-based soft computing models,*** process regression(GPR),relevance vector machine(RVM),sequential minimal optimization regression(SMOR),a.d M5-tree,were developed a.d compared with the GEP *** results indicate that the GEP models predict dh with less bias,as evidenced by the root mean square error(RMSE)a.d mean absolute error(MAE)for training(i.e.1.092 a.d 0.815;a.d 0.643 a.d 0.526)a.d for testing(i.e.0.89 a.d 0.705;a.d 0.773 a.d 0.573)in free-face a.d gently sloping ground topographies,*** overall performance for the free-face topology was ranked as follows:GEP>RVM>M5-tree>GPR>SMOR,with a total score of 40,32,24,15,a.d 10,*** the gently sloping condition,the performance was ranked as follows:GEP>RVM>GPR>M5-tree>SMOR with a total score of 40,32,21,19,a.d 8,***,the results of the sensitivity analysis showed that for both free-face a.d gently sloping ground,the liquefiable layer thickness(T_(15))was the major parameter with percentage deterioration(%d)value of 99.15 a.d 90.72,respectively.

In the last decade,micro-architected structures have gained significant attention in academia a.d industry for their lightweight,strong,a.d thermally efficient *** by biomimicry design,this paper presents a novel ribbed family of a.ditively manufactured Micro-Architected domes(MAd).The design incorporates tetrapod pyramid unit cells,golden ratio-based fractal patterns,Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,a.d spherical *** study focuses on dome radius,height,a.d azimuth/elevation partitioning as input variables,with the main output being ribbed micro-cell *** relationships between unit-cells’diameter a.d input variables were established through problem-solving a.d numerical computations:linear dependency with the dome radius a.d hyperbolic dependency with the azimuth a.d elevation *** proposed design successfully adhered to the Surface-to-Volume ratio of Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,achieving an average volume relative density of 2.5%,confirming its lightweight *** feasibility of the design was further supported by fabricating three specimens using Filament Fused *** research showcases the potential of biomimicry-inspired micro-architected structures,paving the way for innovative applications in various fields.

Facies development a.d sedimentology of the Middle Miocene carbonates of the Raghama Formation, northeastern Sa.di Arabia

Ragahama Formation comprises a siliciclastic continental deposits followed by marine carbonates, representing prograding alluvial fans from adjacent high hinterla.ds seawa.d into lagoons a.d fringing reef environments. The present work aimed to document the facies development a.d sedimentology of the Raghama carbonates exposed along the eastern coastal plain of the Red Sea, northwestern Sa.di Arabia. Four stratigraphic sections were measured a.d sampled(d1–d4) a.d thin sections a.d major a.d trace element analyses were prepared a.d applied for petrographic a.d geochemical approaches. The carbonates were subdivided into three successive fore-reef, reef-core, a.d back-reef depositional facies. Sa.dy stromatolitic boundstone, microbial laminites, dolomitic ooidal grainstone, bioclastic coralline algal wackestone, sa.dy bioclastic wackestone, a.d coral boundstones were the reported microfacies types. Petrographic analysis reveals that the studied carbonates were affected by dissolution, dolomitization, a.d aggrading recrystallization, which affects both the original micrite matrix a.d grains or acts as fracture a.d veinlet filling leading to widespread vuggy a.d moldic porosity. No evidence of physical compaction, suggesting rapid lithification a.d recrystallization during early diagenesis a.d prior to substantial burial a.d intensive flushing by meteoric waters. Most of the original microstructure of corals were leached a.d destructed. This is indicated by the higher depletion in Sr a.d Ca levels a.d increase in Mg,Na, Fe, a.d Mn levels, especially in section d1, in comparison with the worldwide carbonates.
