Association of spiritual well-being with quality of life among undergraduate nursing students

Objective:The study was conducted with the aim of determining the spiritual well-being(SWB)of nursing students and its association with quality of life(QOL).Materials and Methods:A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted with a sample size of 504 nursing students collected from January 2023 to March 2023 in the nursing institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Pakistan,using convenient sampling techniques.A Spiritual Health and Life-Orientation Measure(SHALOM)questionnaire for SWB and K-27 QOL(K-27 QOL)instrument were used for data collection that contains three ***:The number of female participants was in the majority(50.4%)compared to male nurses(49.6%).The overall mean score of SWB of the students was 3.79±0.48,while the mean K-27 QOL score was 3.73±*** were significant differences between the groups of gender(P=0.001),while no significant difference within the groups of semester(P=0.061)and college status(0.285).In QOL,there were significant differences within the groups of semester(P=0.000)and college status(P=0.036)while no significant difference in gender category(P=0.480).SHALOM score is positively and moderately correlated with QOL score(r=0.597,P<0.05).Conclusion:Spiritual practices are one of the important factors that are associated positively with QOL,therefore to enhance the QOL,it will require spiritual practices.

Shear behavior and dilatancy of an artificial hard-matrix bimrock: An experimental study focusing on the role of blocky structure

Bimrocks are characterized by their geotechnically significant blocky structure,presenting complex shear *** study investigates the shear behavior and dilatancy of bimrocks featuring a rock-like matrix,such as *** study addresses a gap in current research,which has predominantly examined the shear behavior of soil-matrix bimrocks(bimsoils).Laboratory direct shear tests were performed on idealized models with varying volumetric block proportions(VBPs).The results highlight that blocks exert both positive and negative effects on shear strength,dilation,and block breakage factor(BF),depending on *** indicate 40%and 60%as critical VBPs,revealing distinct shear strength trends within this range,contrary to the dominant downward *** positively impact dilation and BF between 20%and 50%VBP,while negatively affecting them beyond this *** skeleton inherently promotes stable dilatancy under normal stress increments and intensifies stress dependency of shear *** in dilation angle concerning normal stress and VBP suggest the potential for characterizing this factor using equivalent strength and roughness,akin to rockfill *** assessments of equivalent strength revealed positive effects of blocks when VBP was between 30%and 70%.Lastly,the findings indicate that blocks notably impact pre-and post-peak behaviors by reducing shear stiffness and inducing local hardening *** study also discusses the similarities and distinctions in the function of blocks within soil-like and rock-like *** offers new insights into the exact role of blocks in bimrock shear behavior beyond the traditional interpretation through the variation of friction and cohesion.

Accuracy in predictions leads to better planning with a minimum of opportunity lost. In open pit mining,the complexity of operations, coupled with a highly uncertain and dynamic production environment,limit the accuracy of predictions and force a reactive planning approach to mitigate deviations from original plans. A simulation optimization framework/tool is presented in this paper to account for uncertainties in mining operations for robust short-term production planning and proactive decision making. This framework/tool uses a discrete event simulation model of mine operations, which interacts with a goalprogramming based mine operational optimization tool to develop an uncertainty based short-term schedule. Using scenario analysis, this framework allows the planner to make proactive decisions to achieve the mine's operational and long-term objectives. This paper details the development of simulation and optimization models and presents the implementation of the framework on an iron ore mine case study for verification through scenario analysis.

This paper describes the electrodeposition of polyphosphate-doped polypyrrole/nanosilica nano-composite coating on steel wire for direct solid-phase microextraction of bisphenol A and five phthalates. We optimized influencing parameters on the extraction efficiency and morphology of the nanocomposite such as deposition potential, concentration of pyrrole and polyphosphate, deposition time and the nanosilica amount. Under the optimized conditions, characterization of the nanocomposite was inves-tigated by scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy. Also, the factors related to the solid-phase microextraction method including desorption temperature and time, extrac-tion temperature and time, ionic strength and pH were studied in detail. Subsequently, the proposed method was validated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry by thermal desorption and acceptable figures of merit were obtained. The linearity of the calibration curves was between 0.01 and 50 ng/mL with acceptable correlation coefficients (0.9956-0.9987) and limits of detection were in the range 0.002-0.01 ng/mL. Relative standard deviations in terms of intra-day and inter-day by five replicate analyses from aqueous solutions containing 0.1 ng/mL of target analytes were in the range 3.3%-5.4% and 5%-7.1%, respectively. Fiber-to-fiber reproducibilities were measured for three different fibers prepared in the same conditions and the results were between 7.3% and 9.8%. Also, extraction recoveries at two different concentrations were ≥96%. Finally, the suitability of the proposed method was demonstrated through its application to the analysis of some eye drops and injection solutions.

Due to the complexity of the deterioration process of seafood products,relying on one indicator is not adequate to determine the quality of such ***,shelf-life was estimated based on various indicators complicating the decision-making *** Support Systems are considered as a good *** current study aims to establish a simple and novel fuzzy model based on a combination of knowledge-and data-driven approaches to define a fuzzy quality deterioration index(FQDI)in various seafood products(rainbow trout,threadfin bream,and white shrimp samples)during cold *** volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and psychrotrophic microorganisms counts(PMCs)were determined based on traditional *** sensory analysis was performed by a data-driven fuzzy ***,the shelf-life of the rainbow trout fillet was estimated to be 8 d,based on all the freshness ***,the shelf-life of the Japanese threadfin bream fillet was 5-7 d according to the microbial and chemical parameters,*** time for shrimp samples was 6-8 d using sensory score and TVB-N *** results of data-driven fuzzy approach showed all of the quality properties were considered as the'Important'-'Very Important'(defuzzification score>75).The TVB-N and PMCs were the most and weakest freshness quality properties(defuzzified-values:84.64 and 78.75,respectively).Based on FQDI,the shelf-life of the rainbow trout,Japanese threadfin bream,and shrimp samples were estimated to be 8,5,and 7 d,*** method was able to successfully provide a comprehensive deterioration index for evaluating the seafood *** a total index can be considered as a comprehensive output(y variable)to predict seafood freshness by rapid and nondestructive method.

Climate change may cause shifts in the natural range of species especially for those that are geographically restricted and/or endemic *** this study,the spatial distribution of five endemic and threatened species belonging to the genus Onosma(including ***,***,***,***,and ***)was investigated under present and future climate change scenarios:RCP2.6(RCP,representative concentration pathway;optimistic scenario)and RCP8.5(pessimistic scenario)for the years 2050 and 2080 in *** was conducted using the maximum entropy(MaxEnt)model to provide a basis for the protection and conservation of these *** environmental variables including aspect,depth of soil,silt content,slope,annual precipitation,minimum temperature of the coldest month,and annual temperature range were used as main predictors in this *** model output for the potential habitat suitability of the studied species showed acceptable performance for all species(i.e.,the area under the curve(AUC)>0.800).According to the models generated by MaxEnt,the potential current patterns of the species were consistent with the observed areas of *** projected climate maps under optimistic and pessimistic scenarios(RCP2.6 and RCP8.5,respectively)of 2050 and 2080 resulted in reductions and expansions as well as positive range changes for all species in comparison to their current predicted *** all species,*** showed the most significant and highest increase under the pessimistic scenario of 2050 and ***,the results of this study revealed that the studied plant species have shown an acute adaptability to environmental *** results can provide useful information to managers to apply appropriate strategies for the management and conservation of these valuable Iranian medicinal and threatened plant species in the future.

We present a comprehensive numerical framework for the electrical and optical modeling and simulation of hybrid quantum dot light-emitting diodes(QD-LEDs).We propose a model known as hopping mobility to calculate the carrier mobility in the emissive organic layer doped with quantum dots(QDs).To evaluate the ability of this model to describe the electrical characteristics of QD-LEDs,the measured data of a fabricated QD-LED with different concentrations of QDs in the emissive layer were taken,and the corresponding calculations were performed based on the proposed *** simulation results indicate that the hopping mobility model can describe the concentration dependence of the electrical behavior of the ***,based on the continuity equation for singlet and triplet excitons,the exciton density profiles of the devices with different QD concentrations were ***,the corresponding luminance characteristics of the devices were calculated,where the results are in good agreement with the experimental data.

In order to study the effect of large scale cosmological expansion on small systems, we assume a Friedmann- Robertson-Walker type coordinate system in presence of a nonzero cosmological constant and derive a non-static Reissner-Nrdstr6m metric. It is an analytic function of r for all values except at r = O, which is singular. By determining the equation of motion in this metric we can estimate how expansion of the universe may affect Pioneer＇s motion. Because the metric does not have any event horizon and so high potential regions are accessible, this may help us in better understanding AGN phenomenon.

A series of phosphine-sulfonate ligands bearing 2-,3-and 4-vinylphenyl on the phosphorus atom were designed,synthesized,characterized and investigated in Ni-and Pd-catalyzed ethylene *** structure of the phosphine-sulfonate Pd complex bearing 2-vinylphenyl on the phosphorus atom showed 2,1-insertion for the 2-vinyl *** phosphine-sulfonate Ni complex bearing 2-vinylphenyl resulted in significantly increased thermal stability and polyethylene molecular weights(Mn=3.69×10^(4)g·mol^(-1) at 80℃)versus the counterparts bearing 3-/4-vinyl groups as well as previously reported phosphine-sulfonate Ni complexes bearing bulky biaryl substituents.
