地震群体的发生近来被假定为一种自组织临界现象(SOC),时空分布具有分形特征,地震的能量或地震矩具有相应于古登堡—里克特(G—R)频度一震级关系的幂律分布。实际上,严格的自组织临界行为在所有模型中并未见到,而且。它只限于那些带有弱退火(永久的)的非均匀性以及具有一种中等的构造驱动速度或应变能速率的情况。依赖于这些条件,地震分布也可能是亚临界的,也就是最大地震发生率比由古登堡—里克特定律得到的发生率小;也可能是超临界的,即最大地震发生概率比古登堡—里克特关系推测的要高,从而成为特征地震。本文将给出所有三种类型的典型震例并支持将古登堡—里克特定律普遍化,成为修正的伽玛分布(地震能量或地震矩满足幂律分布,指数项分别为正、零或负)。如果地震的分布确实是一种临界现象的话,那么在地震危险性分析中的先验假设——古登堡—里克特定律就完全失效了。地震的具体分布形式也可能系统地依赖于所选区域面积的大小。在单一断层周围的小区域内的地震分布会具有特征分布形式。这种事先不期望的欧几里得区划效应是某些地震危险性分析的基本假定中固有预处理程度的范例。另外的一些假设,比如长时间过程中的平稳性,是和自组织临界现象一致的。地震满足随机的泊松分布的假设与自组织临界现象是完全矛盾的,地震之间,就像雪崩过程那样,在近距离有强相互作用,远距离有弱相互作用。对于亚临界现象的情况,根据伽玛分布律,可以由长期滑动率独立地得出一个最大可信震级,这个震级定义为其对总矩或烈度的贡献可以忽略。这种适度的最大值可以代替古登堡一里克特定律分布中独立地插入一个截断的最大值。该最大值的确定有一定的人为因素。考虑这种最大震级对地面运动的概率贡献可以忽略,该方法可以用于地震危险性的综合分析,并且可以得到与常规方法相同的结果。

Primary and metastatic liver cancer is an increasingly common and difficult to control disease *** offers a non-invasive treatment alternative for these patients who often have few options and a poor ***,the anatomy and aggressiveness of liver cancer poses significant challenges such as accurate localization at simulation and treatment,management of motion and appropriate selection of dose *** article aims to review the options available and provide information for the practical implementation and/or improvement of liver cancer radiation programs within the context of stereotactic body radiotherapy and image-guided radiotherapy *** patient inclusion and exclusion criteria are presented given the significant toxicity found in certain sub-populations treated with ***,certain sub-populations,such as those with tumor thrombosis or those with larger lesions treated with transarterial chemoembolization,have been shown to have significant improvements in outcome with the addition of radiation and merit special *** a liver radiation programrequires three primary challenges to be addressed:(1) immobilization and motion management;(2) localization;and(3) dose regimen and constraint *** to deal with motion include simple internal target volume(iTV) expansions,non-gated iTV reduction strategies,breath hold methods,and surrogate marker methods to enable gating or *** of the tumor and organs-at-risk are addressed using contrast infusion techniques to take advantage of different normal liver and cancer vascular anatomy,imaging modalities,and margin ***,a dose response has been demonstrated and dose regimens appear to be converging.A more uniform approach to treatment in terms of technique,dose selection and patient selection will allow us to study liver radiation in larger and,hopefully,multicenter randomized studies.

全球化是玛格丽特·阿特伍德在《末世男女》中所关注的众多精彩议题之一。事实上,在她广为人知的小说《使女的故事》及《末世男女》中,阿特伍德就对她长久以来深感兴趣的议题——存乎于虚拟与现实之间的暧昧状态——多所著墨,而人类与后人类之间暧昧不明的界线,则是另一个让阿特伍德也大为着迷的议题。换言之,早在《末世男女》里,阿特伍德就嘲讽性的批判科技狂痴于网络建构中、科技全球化之下的荒诞不经。在《末世男女》中,阿特伍德警醒吾人创造超级机械帝国,可能引发的社会与生态危机。本文中将援用印度生态学者范达娜·希瓦对于发展企业全球化实为新殖民主义之批判。于《末世男女》,阿特伍除了警告吾人世界科技化的后果,也深信自然即多样、即反抗的场所、即异于我们。在此,本文提出的新原始主义意味着重建自然神圣的魅力,尊重自然中既有的他者性。如保罗·霍肯在《永续宣言》里所言,阿特伍德鼓励吾人应从数字知识转换至生物知识,在我们宣称了解自然之际,应当承认自然里既存的他者性,对自然谦卑之需要,更是批判人类想成为超人,控制一切的科技野心之不当。

intracerebral hemorrhage （iCH）, caused by the sudden rupture of an artery within the brain, is a devastating subtype of stroke, which currently has no effective treatment. intense inflammatory reactions that occur in the peri-hematomal area after iCH are more deleterious than the hematoma itself, resulting in subsequent brain edema and neurologic deterioration. Thus, we developed lipid-coated magnetic mesoporous silica nanoparticles doped with ceria nanoparticles （CeNPs）, abbreviated as LMCs, which have both potent anti-inflammatory therapeutic effects via scavenging reactive oxygen species and help in increasing the efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging enhancement in the peri-hematomal area. LMCs consist of mesoporous silica nanopartide-supported lipid bilayers, which are loaded with large amounts of CeNPs for scavenging of reactive oxygen species, and iron oxide nanoparticles for magnetic resonance imaging contrast. LMCs loaded with CeNPs exhibited strong anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory activities in vitro. in the rodent iCH model, intracerebraUy injected LMCs reached the peri-hematomal area and were engulfed by macrophages, which were clearly visualized by magnetic resonance imaging of the brain. Moreover, LMCs reduced inflammatory macrophage infiltration, and thus significantly reduced brain edema. Finally, LMC treatment markedly improved neurologic outcomes of the animals with iCH. Thus, LMC is the first nanobiomaterial that successfully showed theragnostic effects in iCH.

Uncertainty analysis of runoff and sedimentation in a forested watershed using sequential uncertainty fitting method

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool （SWAT） was implemented in a small forested watershed of the Soan River Basin innorthern Pakistan through application of the sequential uncertainty fitting （SUFi-2） method to investigate the associateduncertainty in runoff and sediment load estimation. The model was calibrated for a 10-year period （1991–2000） with aninitial 4-year warm-up period （1987–1990）, and was validated for the subsequent 10-year period （2001–2010）. Themodel evaluation indices R2 （the coefficient of determination）, NS （the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency）, and PBiAS （percentbias） for stream flows simulation indicated that there was a good agreement between the measured and simulated *** assess the uncertainty in the model outputs, p-factor （a 95% prediction uncertainty, 95PPU） and r-factors （averagewideness width of the 95PPU band divided by the standard deviation of the observed values） were taken into *** 95PPU band bracketed 72% of the observed data during the calibration and 67% during the validation. The r-factorwas 0.81 during the calibration and 0.68 during the validation. For monthly sediment yield, the model evaluation coefficients（R2 and NS） for the calibration were computed as 0.81 and 0.79, respectively; for validation, they were 0.78and 0.74, respectively. Meanwhile, the 95PPU covered more than 60% of the observed sediment data during calibrationand validation. Moreover, improved model prediction and parameter estimation were observed with the increasednumber of iterations. However, the model performance became worse after the fourth iterations due to an unreasonableparameter estimation. Overall results indicated the applicability of the SWAT model with moderate levels of uncertaintyduring the calibration and high levels during the validation. Thus, this calibrated SWAT model can be used for assessmentof water balance components, climate change studies, and land use management practices.
