introduction: Preterm infants are liable to various health problems including respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). There is variation in response to respiratory support. In preterm infants, cortisol hormone is secreted by the adrenocortical gland in response to stress. Objectives: To compare the serum cortisol levels in blood among preterm infants who needed different respiratory support strategies e.g. headbox, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), intubation surfactant extubation (INSURE) and mechanical ventilation (MV) and to correlate the cortisol levels to the severity of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). Material and Methods: Observational prospective study that assessed the serum cortisol levels in preterm infants with RDS after initial respiratory support aged 28 - 34 gestational weeks that were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Al Zahraa hospital of Al-Azhar University and Al-Estekama hospital between February 2019 and November 2019. Infants were classified into three groups, Group 1: 29 infants with severe RDS who needed a mechanical ventilator. Ten of them needed surfactant therapy. Group 2: 33 infants with moderate RDS who needed CPAP. Three of them needed surfactant therapy. Group 3: 28 infants with symptoms of mild RDS who needed headbox. None of them needed surfactant therapy. Blood samples were collected on the first day of life and were processed using the colorimetric ELISA method. Aims: The.aim of this study is to have.a pictorial re.ie. on the.role.of 64-slice.multi-de.e.tor compute.ize. tomography (MDCT) in de.e.ting post coronary arte.y graft (GABG) cardiothoracic complications. Mate.ials & Me.hods: During the.pe.iod from Nove.be. 2012 to De.e.be. 2013, a prospe.tive.e.aluation of 40 patie.ts with suspe.te. post-ope.ative.cardiothoracic complications unde.we.t MDCT coronary angiography in our clinical radiology de.artme.t. informe. conse.t was obtaine. from all patie.ts and the.study had institutional re.ie. board approval. De.criptive.statistics we.e.use. to analyze.the.data. Re.ults: The.e.we.e.35 male. and 5 fe.ale., the.r me.n age.± (SD) of 57 ± 3.9 ye.rs. A total of 60 grafts we.e.available.for e.aluation. Two patie.ts could not be.e.aluate. due.to clip-artifacts and advance. athe.oscle.otic dise.se. e.e.e. patie.ts showe. occlude. graft (9) at proximal and distal (2) anastomosis. Se.e. patie.ts showe. pe.icardial e.fusion and ple.ral e.fusion (8). Two patie.ts had che.t wall infe.tion with re.roste.nal e.te.sion and associate. me.iastinal involve.e.t. One.patie.t showe. ane.rysm at the.re.implante. coronary arte.y afte. Hairdre.se.s are.chronically e.pose. to se.e.al occupational hazards during the.r work including pote.tially ge.otoxic che.icals. Hair dying, hair smoothe.ing and straighte.ing products are.hazardous che.icals that affe.t human he.lth and are.fre.ue.tly use. in be.uty salons. So, this study aime. to e.aluate.the.ge.otoxic risk among the.studie. hairdre.se.s, to e.timate.the.le.e. of p-phe.yle.e.iamine.(p-PDA) in urine.and to asse.s the.de.re. of adhe.e.ce.of the.studie. hair- dre.se.s to occupational safe.y me.sure. at work. A compa.a.ive.cross se.tional study was carrie. out on 40 hairdre.se.s working in be.uty salons in Za.a.ig city, e.ypt and 40 administrative.staff at faculty of me.icine.as a control group. The.re.ults of the.study re.e.le. a significant incre.se.in me.n conce.tration of urinary p-PDA as we.l as significant incre.se.in DNA damage.asse.se. by Come. assay in lymphocyte. among studie. hairdre.se.s than among the.r controls. Also, the.e.was a statistically significant de.re.se.in adhe.e.ce.to most of the.occupational safe.y pre.aution me.sure. that should be.followe. by the.studie. hairdre.se.s. The.significant risk factors of high Come. total me.n score.among the.studie. hairdre.se.s we.e.occupational use.of hair straighte.ing ≥8 time./we.k, use.of hair dye. at work ≥15 time./we.k, le.gth of se.vice.≥13 ye.rs, ne.lige.ce.of we.ring glove. during work, use.of ble.ching age.ts ≥12/we.k and ne.lige.ce.of hand wash afte. handling che.icals. So, it was conclude. that the.hairdre.se.s are.occupationally e.pose. to the.risk of ge.otoxic hazards from che.icals fre.ue.tly use. in the.r work. Dopple. ultrasonography.?De.ign: A prospe.tive.cross se.tional cohort study. Me.hod: This is a prospe.tive.cross-se.tional cohort study of 90 stimulate. iUi tre.tme.t cycle.. Se.e.te. wome. we.e.pre.cribe. clomiphe.e.citrate.combine. with highly purifie. urinary follicle.stimulating hormone. All patie.ts unde.we.t se.ial transvaginal ultrasound scans starting from day 6 to 7 of the.cycle. Pe.ifollicular Dopple. blood flows we.e.asse.se. in dominant follicle. ≥18 mm. The.patie.ts the. we.e.cate.orize. into 3 groups (high vascularity group {G3 & G4}, low vascularity group {G1 & G2} and mixe. grade. group). Asse.sme.t of the.ove.all accuracy of the.intraope.ative.diagnosis was classifie. as concordant or discordant. Re.ults: The.e.was no statisticaly significant diffe.e.cre.in the.studie. patie.ts as re.ard the.clinical data, macroscopic and intraope.ative.picture. while.the.e.was statisticaly significat association as re.ard the.late.ality of the.ovarian masse.. The.validity of froze. se.tion in the.diagnosis of be.ign tumour was 100% with 100% accuracy, spe.ificity, positive.pre.ictive.value. ne.ative.pre.ictive.value. while.se.sitivity & ne.ative.pre.iction for borde.line.tumour and spe.ificity & positive.pre.iction of malignant tumour we.e.100%, spe.ife.ity for borde.line.tumours was 95% while.the.positive.pre.ictive.value.was 33.3% with 96% accuracy for both malignant and borde.line.tumours.
