The Effect of Uncaria gambir on Optical Properties and Thermal Stability of CNF/PVA Biocomposite Films

Cellulose-based film has gained popularity as an alternative to synthetic polymers due to its outstanding *** all types of cellulose materials available,cellulose nanofiber(CNF)has great potential to be utilized in a diverse range of applications,including as a film *** this study,CNF biocomposite film was prepared by using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as a matrix and Uncaria gambir extract as a *** study aims to investigate the effect of Uncaria gambir extract on the optical properties and thermal stability of the produced *** formation of the CNF biocomposite films was confirmed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy,their transmittance characteristics were measured using UV-Vis spectroscopy and a transmittance meter,while their reflectance was determined using a reflectance *** results revealed that the addition of Uncaria gambir extract to the CNF biocomposite film improved its UV-shielding properties,as indicated by the lower percentage of transmittance in the visible region,10%–70%.In addition,its reflectance increased to 10.6%compared to the CNF film without the addition of Uncaria gambir ***,the thermal stability of the CNF biocomposite film with the addition of Uncaria gambir extract improved to around 400℃–500℃.In conclusion,the results showed that CNF biocomposite film prepared by adding Uncaria gambir extract can be a promising candidate for optical and thermal management materials.

History and perspectives of induction technology for agarwood production from cultivated Aquilaria in Asia: a review

Agarwood, the resinous product of Aquilaria spp.(Thymelaeaceae), is highly valued for medicinal and fragrant purposes. Unsustainable forest harvesting contributes to the declining population in the wild, threatening their existence. As a protection effort, cultivation occurred in range countries, mainly in Asia, effectively establishing mass plantations. The success of domesticating Aquilaria relies heavily on technological advancement in agarwood induction, without which the entire thriving industry will collapse. In this paper, we describe efforts since 1929 and current progress and variation in induction as practiced in Asia. The methods include traditional practices and artificial induction via inoculum and chemical inducer, experimented and patented or otherwise. Artificial induction methods are being developed to intensify agarwood production in terms of yield and quality. While traditional methods are commonly applied by rural planters, artificial methods with the use of specific agents/chemicals are seen as more appealing for inducing agarwood, and have a higher demand from entrepreneurs and plantation *** issues related to induction technology faced by stakeholders in agarwood cultivation are presented, such as safety levels, cost, yields, and quality. We conclude by highlighting remaining challenges in induction methods and their associated technologies.

Early efficacy of individual regimens containing bedaquiline in patients with drug resistant tuberculosis

Objective:To evaluate early efficacy of sputum conversion within 6 months of individual regimens containing bedaquiline in patients with drug resistant ***:We conducted a retrospective study among patients with drug resistant tuberculosis who were receiving individual regimens containing *** primary outcome was sputum conversion of both smear and culture within 6 months of *** used medical records of drug resistant tuberculosis patients from January 2020 to December *** study was conducted at *** Hospital,Indonesia from August to October ***:In this study,44 eligible drug resistant tuberculosis patients were initiated on regimens containing *** were 52.3%males and the median age was 45.5 *** rates of previous treatment(70.5%)and lung cavity(36.4%)were *** most common companion drugs included clofazimine,cycloserine,levofloxacin,and *** smear and culture conversion was seen in 79.4%and 82.1%at the 2nd month,*** than 97%patients had smear and culture conversion at the end of 6 ***:Among drug resistant tuberculosis patients,individual regimens containing bedaquiline were associated with high rates of smear and culture conversion at the end of 6 *** efficacy of regimens containing bedaquiline can be used to predict cure rate at the end of treatment.

气候变化是世界捕捞渔业和水产养殖业可持续发展面临的新挑战之一。由于近几十年来,气候变化对人类社会和生态系统的影响受到越来越多的关注,本研究探究了预期中的气候条件变化将如何影响印度尼西南苏拉威西省(South Sulawesi)的海洋养殖。并且基于国家各机构和组织提供的环境数据库来分析评估气候变化对海洋养殖的影响程度。本文研究了当前气候变化的模式:表层海水盐度(SSS)、海表面温度(SST)和一些发生在印度尼西南苏拉威西省常见海藻养殖品种Kappaphycus alvarezii(俗称“cottonii”)和Eucheuma denticulatum(“spinosum”)栽培区域的极端事件。此外,本研究确定了孟加锡海峡可作为Kappaphycus alvarezii和Eucheuma denticulatum的养殖区域,并参考目前商业运营养殖海区的海水特征,基于物理条件,确定了孟加锡海峡适用于Kappaphycus alvarezii和Eucheuma denticulatum养殖的区域,并定义了该区域的栽培适合指数。最后,本研究评估了极端事件中的气候变化对该区域海藻栽培能力的影响。分析结果表明,苏拉威西海附近开阔海水的年平均SST预计在2012年至2050年间将以0.23℃/年的速度上升约1℃;在2051年至2100年间将以0.53℃/年的速度上升约2℃。南苏拉威西海岸附近开阔海水的年平均SSS预计在2012年-2050年间将以0.0055ppt/年的速率降低约0.21 ppt,在2051年-2100年间将以0.008 ppt/年的速率降低约0.43ppt。本研究得出的结论是由各机构和组织提供的数据库是易获取和可利用的,虽然有些数据依然欠缺,一些数据库的可利用性有待改善,但依然能够被用于研究气候变化对印度尼西亚沿海养殖的影响。这项研究还表明,区域海藻养殖能力不受预期中的SST和SSS变化的影响。SST和SSS的变化对海洋培养没有不利影响。相反,SLR对海藻养殖有负面影响。通过一个参与式的研究途径,来探索海藻养殖户面对变化的气候条件而采取的适应模式。结果表明关键影响不对称主要是由于气候和社会经济因素影响南苏拉威西省的生计作物。

Compensation of hysteresis in piezoelectric actuator with iterative learning control

This paper presents the application of iterative learning control (ILC) to compensate hysteresis in a piezoelectric actuator. The proposed controller is a hybrid of proportional-integral-differential (PID) control, whose main function is for trajectory tracking, and a chatter-based ILC, whose main function is for hysteresis compensation. Stability analysis of the proposed ILC is presented, with the PID included in the dynamic of the piezoelectric actuator. The performance of the proposed controller is analysed through simulation and verified with experiment with a piezoelectric actuator.

Channel estimation is a well-known challenge for wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)communication systems with massive antennas on high speed rails(HSRs).This paper investigates this problem and design two practicable uplink and downlink channel estimators for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)communication systems with massive antenna arrays at base station on ***,we first use pilots to estimate the initial angle of arrival(AoA)and channel gain information of each uplink path through discrete Fourier transform(DFT),and then refine the estimates via the angle rotation technique and suggested pilot *** on the uplink angel estimation,we design a new downlink channel estimator for frequency division duplexing(FDD)***,we derive the Cramér-Rao lower bounds(CRLBs)of the AoA and channel gain ***,numerical results are provided to corroborate our proposed studies.

The underwater object detection is important for monitoring the sustainability of the marine ***,the conventional monitoring system requires lots of resources because a marine ecosystem is difficult to ***,the computer vision based underwater object detection can be applied to solve the *** thesis aims to detect the fish and recognize its type at the same *** challenges emerged in detecting and recognizing the fish type,such as poor image quality（unclear,blurry and small images resolution）,the similar fish shape,the movement of fish in the water,and the limited fish *** propose to use deep learning algorithms,like YOLO and Faster R-CNN,for detecting and recognizing the fish *** this is the first time YOLO version 3 algorithm applied for fish detection and ***53 and Vgg16 are applied to YOLO version 3 and Faster R-CNN respectively as the feature *** datasets were used including fish4 knowledge and bubble *** fish4 knowledge dataset set is a public data set that has several neatly arranged images from each class,while the bubble vision dataset consists of videos that must be preprocessed before being used in the *** order to get the quality image in the dataset,image preprocessing is applied using image enhancement methods including Image Filter（Homomorphic Filter and gaussian Filter）,Contrast adaptive histogram equalization（CLAHE）,Multifision（CLAHE + Image filter）,Dark Channel *** experiment results showed the best result for fish detection and recognition obtained the performance of 99.16% using Faster R-CNN with multifision（CLAHE + Image filter）image enhancement on Bubble Vision *** YOLO version 3 only performed 74% without image enhancement.

Structural Design and Numerical Analysis of a Novel Biodegradable Zinc Alloy Stent

Biodegradable zinc alloy stents are a prospective solution for complications caused by the incompatibility between artery and permanent ***,insufficient scaffolding has limited the clinical application of biodegradable zinc alloy ***,in this study,a new stent concept was designed to improve the *** mechanical performances of the new and a traditional design stent were investigated and compared using finite element analysis(FEA).The new and traditional design stent were expanded to the intended radial displacement of 0.24 mm under the expansion pressure of 0.58 MPa and 0.45 MPa,***,a pressure load of 0.35 MPa was exerted on the outer surfaces of the two stents to compress *** results showed that the radial recoiling ratio were 45.3%and 83.3%for the new and the traditional stent,*** simulations demonstrate that the biodegradable zinc alloy stent offers enhanced support because of the new structural *** study implies that biodegradable zinc alloy stent can be a new competitive intervention device for the future clinical cardiovascular application.
