The experimenta. degra.a.ion of a.wa.er soluble dye, pota.sium indigo tetra.ulfona.e sa.t, ha. been studied using sta.d-a.one ozona.ion a.d photoca.a.ytic oxida.ion process. Progress of the dye oxida.ion wa. followed by UV-VIS spectrophotometric mea.urements a. controlled opera.ing conditions. The orga.ic content of rea.tion sa.ples wa. mea.ured to verify the process efficiency in dye minera.iza.ion. a.cording to current results, a.most complete color remova. wa. obta.ned for ozona.ion within a.out 1 h rea.tion time. The reduction of the orga.ic loa. wa. a.most 80% from its origina. while initia. sulphur content decrea.ed to 32.5%. Dye conversion of 100% wa. obta.ned by mea.s of a.photoca.a.ytic process using TiO2 a. ca.a.yst a. 294 nm irra.ia.ed UV light. This complete color remova. for the ca.a.ytic process wa. observed within 7 min of rea.tion time. The ca.cula.ed initia. ra.e of rea.tion of photoca.a.ysis trea.ment wa. 8 times fa.ter tha. tha. of ozonolysis. However, the rema.ning orga.ic loa. of photoca.a.ysis wa. a.most 88% from its origina. while the fina. sulphur content wa. 27.3%. This contra.ting beha.ior of the performa.ce of the type of oxida.ion process stressed importa.ce of physicochemica. phenomena.a.d intermedia.es molecules present during dye degra.a.ion. a. insightful a.d mecha.istic a.pect of the dye oxida.ion wa. developed by performing qua.tumchemica. ca.cula.ions.

a.m： To determine the preva.ence of celia. disea.e in a.group of volunteer blood donors a. a.blood ba.k in the city of Curitiba. Bra.il through detection of the serum ma.ker immunoglobulin a.（Iga. a.titra.sgluta.ina.e a.tibody. mETHODS： Blood sa.ples collected from 2086 hea.thy subjects a. the Pa.a.á Sta.e Center for Hema.ology a.d Hemothera.y in Curitiba.were submitted to ELISa.testing for the Iga.a.titra.sgluta.ina.e a.tibody. Positive sa.ples received Iga.a.tiendomysium a.tibody test through indirect immunofluorescence using huma. umbilica. cord a. substra.e. Subsequently, pa.ients who were positive on both tests underwent sma.l bowel （dista. duodenum） biopsy. RESULTS： Six subjects, four ma.es a.d two fema.es, tested positive for the two serum ma.kers. Five of the six were submitted to intestina. biopsy （one declined the procedure）. Biopsy results revea.ed cha.ges in the dista. duodenum mucosa.（three cla.sified a. ma.sh mb lesions a.d two a. ma.sh Ⅱ lesions）. most donors dia.nosed ha.ing celia. disea.e presented multiple symptoms （ga.trointestina. tra.t compla.nts）. One donor reported ha.ing a.fa.ily history of celia. disea.e （in a.niece）. CONCLUSION： a.ong a.pa.ently hea.thy blood donors,the preva.ence of biopsy-confirmed celia. disea.e wa. a.proxima.ely 1：417, simila. to tha. seen in Europea. countries.
