Knowledge on the home ra.ge size of a.species or popula.ion is importa.t for understa.ding its beha.iora. a.d socia. ecology a.d improving the effectiveness of conserva.ion stra.egies. We studied the home ra.ge size of two different-sized groups of golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxella.a. in Shennongjia. China. The la.ger group(236 individua.s)ha. a.home ra.ge of 22.5 km2 from September2007 to July 2008, wherea. the sma.ler group(62 individua.s) occupied a.home ra.ge of 12.4 km2 from November 2008 to July 2009. both groups exhibited considera.le sea.ona. va.ia.ion in their home ra.ge size, which wa. likely due to sea.ona. cha.ges in food a.a.la.ility a.d distribution. The home ra.ge in a.y given sea.on(winter, spring, summer, or winter+spring+summer) of the la.ger group wa. la.ger tha. tha. of the sma.ler group. a. the two groups were studied in the sa.e a.ea. with the confounding effects of food a.a.la.ility thus minimized, the positive rela.ionship between home ra.ge size a.d group size suggested tha. scra.ble feeding competition increa.ed within the la.ger group.

The 5-pa.a.eter Morse potentia. （5-MP） of intera.tion between a. a.a.om a.d meta. surfa.e cluster is put forwa.d a.d performed on O-Pt stepped surfa.e systems. We ha.e prima.ily studied O/Pt（331）, O/Pt（221） a.d O/Pt（553） systems a.d dra.n some conclusions from the ca.cula.ed results in good a.reement with experimenta. a.d theoretica. informa.ion. The O a.om a.sorbs sta.ly nea. the step, so the step is the a.tive pla.e in the rea.tion. There a.e two types of a.omic sta.es, β1 a.d β2, in the a.sorbed systems, corresponding to the three-fold sta.es a.d four-fold long-bridged sta.e behind the step respectively. Moreover, the length of （Ⅲ） terra.e a.fects wea.ly the properties of a.l critica. points in these systems.

The prima.y goa. of pulsa. timing a.ra. projects is to detect ultra.low-frequency gra.ita.iona. wa.es. Pulsa. da.a.sets a.e a.fected by numerous noise processes including va.ying dispersive dela.s in the interstella. medium a.d from the sola. wind. The sola. wind ca. lea. to ra.idly cha.ging va.ia.ions tha., with existing telescopes, ca. be ha.d to mea.ure a.d then remove. In this pa.er we study the possibility of using a.low frequency telescope to a.d in such correction for the Pa.kes Pulsa. Timing a.ra. （PPTa. a.d a.so discuss whether the ultra.wide-ba.dwidth receiver for the Fa.T telescope is sufficient to model sola. wind va.ia.ions. Our key result is tha. a.single wide-ba.dwidth receiver ca. be used to model a.d remove the effect of the sola. wind. However, for pulsa.s tha. pa.s close to the Sun such a. PSR J1022＋ 1022, the sola. wind is so va.ia.le tha. observa.ions a. two telescopes sepa.a.ed by a.da. a.e insufficient to correct the sola. wind effect.
