In present,there a.e increa.ing interests in the resea.ch on mecha.ica. a.d control system of underwa.er *** ongoing resea.ch efforts a.e motiva.ed by more perva.ive a.plica.ions of such vehicles including sea.ed oil a.d ga. explora.ions, scientific deep ocea. surveys,milita.y purposes,ecologica. a.d wa.er environmenta. studies,a.d a.so enterta.nments. However,the performa.ce of underwa.er vehicles with screw type propellers is not prospective in terms of its efficiency a.d *** ma.n wea.nesses of this kind of propellers a.e the production of vortices a.d sudden genera.ion of thrust forces which ma.e the control of the position a.d motion difficult. North-south difference of wa.er ma.s properties a.ross the Lembeh stra.t, North sula.esi, Indonesia

Two field observa.ions were conducted a.ound the Lembeh stra.t in september 2015 a.d 2016, *** indica.e tha. sea.a.er a.ound the Lembeh stra.t is consisted of North Pa.ific Tropica. Wa.er(NPTW),North Pa.ific Intermedia.e Wa.er(NPIW), North Pa.ific Tropica. Intermedia.e Wa.er(NPTIW) a.d a.ta.ctic Intermedia.e Wa.er(a.IW). a.ound the Lembeh stra.t, there exist some north-south differences in terms of wa.er ma.s properties. NPTIW is only found in the southern Lembeh stra.t. Wa.er ma.s with the sa.inity of 34.6 is only detected a. 200–240 m between NPTW a.d NPTIW in the southern Lembeh stra.t, a.d results from the process of mixing between the sa.tier wa.er tra.sported from the south Pa.ific Ocea. a.d the lighter wa.er from the North Pa.ific Ocea. a.d sula.esi sea. a.cording to the a.a.ysis on mixing la.er depth, it is indica.ed tha. there exists a. onshore surfa.e current in the northern Lembeh stra.t a.d the surfa.e current in the Lembeh stra.t is *** dra.a.ic differences of wa.er ma.ses demonstra.e tha. the less wa.er excha.ge ha. been occurred between the north a.d south of Lembeh stra.t. In 2015, the positive wind stress curl covering the northern Lembeh stra.t induces the shoa.ing of thermocline a.d deepening of NPIW, which show tha. the north-south difference of a.rsea.system is possible of inducing north-south differences of sea.a.er properties.

This pa.er presents the design of decentra.ized repetitive control （RC） for multi-input multi-output （MIMO） systems. a. optimiza.ion method is used to obta.n a.RC compensa.or tha. ensures system sta.ility a.d good tra.king performa.ce. The designed compensa.or is in the form of a.sta.le, low order, a.d ca.sa. filter, in which the compensa.or ca. be implemented sepa.a.ely without being merged with the RC interna. model. This will reduce complexity in the implementa.ion. simula.ion results a.d compa.ison study a.e given to demonstra.e the effectiveness of the proposed design. The novelty of design is a.so verified in experiments on a.2 degrees of freedom （DOF） robot.

soot prediction in a.combustion system ha. become a.subject of a.tention, a. ma.y fa.tors influence its a.cura.y. a. a.cura.e tempera.ure prediction will likely yield better soot predictions, since the inception, growth a.d de- struction of the soot a.e a.fected by the tempera.ure. This pa.er reported the study on the influences of turbulence closure a.d surfa.e growth models on the prediction of soot levels in turbulent fla.es. The results demonstra.ed tha. a.substa.tia. distinction wa. observed in terms of tempera.ure predictions derived using the k-c a.d the Rey- nolds stress models, for the two ethylene fla.es studied here a.ongst the four types of surfa.e growth ra.e model investiga.ed, the a.sumption of the soot surfa.e growth ra.e proportiona. to the pa.ticle number density, but inde- pendent on the surfa.e a.ea.of soot pa.ticles,f（a.） = pNs, yields in closest a.reement with the ra.ia. da.a. Without a.y a.justment to the consta.ts in the surfa.e growth term, other a.proa.hes where the surfa.e growth directly proportiona. to the surfa.e a.ea.a.d squa.e root of surfa.e a.ea. f （a.） = a. a.d f （a.） = √a., result in a. un- der-prediction of soot volume fra.tion. These results suggest tha. predictions of soot volume fra.tion a.e sensitive to the modelling of surfa.e growth.

Compa.ison of three processing methods for la.ina.ed ba.boo timber production

Three processing techniques, split-squa.ing(ss),V-grooving(VG), a.d split-edging(sE), were eva.ua.ed a.d compa.ed in terms of their processing time a.d recovery. sema.ta. ba.boo(Giga.tochloa.scortechinii Ga.ble) wa. used a. a.ra. ma.eria. a.d the results showed tha. the VG-method required the longest processing time(32.1 min), followed by the ss-method(18.2 min), a.d the sE-method(17.9 min). However, the VG-method showed the highest recovery(82.0%) compa.ed to the ss-method a.d sE-method, 31.0 a.d 49.4%, respectively. When both processing time a.d recovery fa.tors were combined with the sa.e weighing fa.tor, the highest va.ue wa. recorded with the VG-method(49.1), while the sE-method ha. va.ues of 31.1 a.d the ss-method 12.8. The results suggest tha. the VG-method is the best option. However, the V-grooving ma.hine is still a.prototype a.d therefore the sE-method could be a. a.terna.ive option until the improved V-grooving ma.hine is a.a.la.le.

The proposed control stra.egy results in a.robust a.a.tive odd-ha.monic repetitive controller(Ra.OHRC). Direct a.a.tive control with a.robust a.a.ta.ion la. is utilized to a.cura.ely tra.k the desired tra.ectory, ensuring the boundedness a.d convergence of the tra.king error. a. interna.-model-ba.ed repetitive controller is a.ded to compensa.e for periodic disturba.ces with odd-ha.monic components. The boundedness a.d the convergence of the tra.king error a.e verified through the Lya.unov-ba.ed sta.ility a.a.ysis. The effectiveness of the proposed Ra.OHRC scheme ca. be demonstra.ed using the simula.ion studies involving a.servomotor model,which a.hieves a.cura.e reference tra.king, excellent disturba.ce rejection ca.a.ility, a.d robustness a.a.nst uncerta.nties.
