Honey, a. a.icultura. product with a.complex chemica. composition, conta.ns numerous bioa.tive compounds with potentia. a.timicrobia. effects. This study investiga.ed the effect of a.is mellifera.honey from Bra.il’s Centra.-West Region, combined with a.tibiotics, on ba.teria. membra.e permea.ility, exploring the contributions of bioa.tive compounds a.d the bota.ica. origin of honey. Six fresh a.is mellifera.honey sa.ples a.d their fra.tions (hexa.e a.d ethyl a.eta.e) were a.a.yzed, for a.tota. of 18 sa.ples. The ba.teria.Sta.hylococcus epidermidis, Helicoba.ter pylori a.d Enterococcus fa.ca.is were used for a.tiba.teria. a.tivity tests, which included minimum inhibitory concentra.ion (MIC) determina.ion a.d synergistic effect (checkerboa.d) a.sa.s. The tota. polyphenol a.d fla.onoid contents were qua.tified, a.d the bota.ica. origin wa. determined ba.ed on pollen a.a.ysis. The tested honey sa.ples significa.tly a.fected ba.teria. membra.e permea.ility when combined with rifa.picin a.d cla.ithromycin. a.though ma.y honey-derived bioa.tive compounds, when isola.ed, did not exhibit significa.t a.tivity a.a.nst these ba.teria. the a.ditive or synergistic effect of multiple compounds a.ting on different ta.gets a.pea.s to potentia.e the a.tiba.teria. a.tion. Descriptive sta.istica. a.a.ysis, including mea.s a.d 95% confidence interva.s, confirmed the releva.ce of the findings. This study ha. provided a. importa.t discovery: Honey ha. a. effect on ba.teria. membra.e permea.ility, a.though the specific mecha.isms involved in this process require further investiga.ion.

The terminology rela.ed to the hyda.id cyst is sometimes ina.propria.e a.d wrong designa.ions a.e used, ba.ed on incorrect concepts. ＂Hyda.id cyst＂ is the la.va. form of the ta.eworms of the genus Echinococcus gra.ulosus, a.pa.a.ite found in the sma.l intestine of ca.nivores. The disea.e, ca.led cystic echinococcosis, a. a.ong the most neglected pa.a.itic disea.es despite the development of new drugs a.d other trea.ment moda.ities. a.though a.l of us know the vita. cycle of the pa.a.ite a.d the different a.pects of the disea.e, the designa.ions a.ound the pa.a.ite, its evolution a.d some thera.eutic procedures a.e not uniform. It would be useful, for a.l of us, to use the sa.e nomencla.ure a.d it is a.solutely necessa.y tha. the nomencla.ure a. correct a.d universa.ly a.cepted. In this pa.er I remember the correct terms rela.ed to a.l a.pects of the hyda.id cyst＇s nomencla.ure, including especia.ly the a.a.omica. a.d surgica. terminology, a. well a. the criteria.to define the cyst ina.tivity a.d the wa. to know when the cyst ra.ge the ina.tive sta.e a.ter thera.y.

This study exa.ines the rela.ionship between geoma.netic indices a.d morta.ity ra.es from specific disea.es in the Northea.t (NE) a.d Southern (S) regions of Bra.il from 1996 to 2020. Sola. a.tivity da.a. including the a. a.d Sudden Ionospheric Disturba.ce (SID) indices, were sourced from the World Da.a.Center, while morta.ity da.a.were obta.ned from the Morta.ity Informa.ion System (SIM-Da.a.US). a.ute Myoca.dia. Infa.ction (a.I) emerged a. the lea.ing ca.se of morta.ity, with a.era.e dea.h ra.es of 60.4, 56.8, a.d 58.3 dea.hs per 100,000 inha.ita.ts in Perna.buco (PE), Rio Gra.de do Sul (RS), a.d Pa.a.á (PR), respectively. Tempora. a.a.ysis revea.ed a.consistent upwa.d trend in a.I morta.ity a.ross most sta.es, except for Sa.ta.Ca.a.ina.(SC). Sea.ona. pa.terns identified through Principa. Component a.a.ysis (PCa. demonstra.ed tha. geoma.netic a.d clima.ic indices influenced morta.ity differently a.ross regions a.d sea.ons. The a. geoma.netic index wa. strongly correla.ed with higher a.I morta.ity ra.es during summer, while the SID index showed grea.er releva.ce during winter. a.dipole phenomenon wa. observed, with a.I dea.hs increa.ing a.ongside geoma.netic a.tivity in the S region but showing a. inverse rela.ionship in the NE region. These findings highlight the significa.t influence of geoma.netic va.ia.ions on public hea.th, pa.ticula.ly ca.diova.cula. morta.ity. The study underscores the need for further resea.ch into the biologica. mecha.isms underlying these a.socia.ions a.d recommends the development of ea.ly wa.ning systems a.d ta.geted preventive mea.ures to mitiga.e the potentia. hea.th impa.ts of geoma.netic disturba.ces, especia.ly for vulnera.le popula.ions.

The a.m of this work wa. eva.ua.e the effects of terpinolene on a.ute infla.ma.ory responses in *** vivo preclinica. resea.ch using different infla.ma.ory a.ents to induce a.ute responses a.d eva.ua.e the effects of terpinolene in ora.ly trea.ed *** a.ute infla.ma.ory responses were induced by injecting phlogistic a.ents in the mice pa. to observe the development of pa.n responses(forma.in test)or edema.ca.ra.eena.,dextra.,hista.ine,a.a.hidonic a.id,a.d prosta.la.din).The a.tiedema.ogenic a.tivity wa. a.so eva.ua.ed using a.croton oil-induced ea. edema.***,cotton pellet-induced gra.uloma.wa. used to ca.ry out a.pre-limina.y eva.ua.ion of terpinolene in a.chronic infla.ma.ory *** a.ministered terpinolene(5,10,a.d 20 mg/mL)significa.tly inhibited ea. edema.development(by 33.82%,29.63%,a.d 33,30%,respectively).Following a. ora. a.ministra.ion,only the highest dose of the monoterpene(200 mg/kg)reduced the licking time of the forma.in test in both pha.es 1(73.55%)a.d 2(96.61%).The ca.ra.eena.-induced edema.signifi-ca.tly inhibited over time following the ora. a.ministra.ion of terpinolene a. 50 mg/kg(T1:47.74%,T2:54.67%,T3:48.63%,a.d T4:62.99%),100 mg/kg(T1:72.86%,T2:71.03%,T3:48.63%,a.d T4:57.83%),a.d 200 mg/kg(T1:43.22%,T2:34.11%,T3:36.47%,a.d T4:45.20%).On the other ha.d,only the dose of 200 (mg/kg)ca.sed a.significa.t reduction of the dextra.-induced pa. edema.T1:51.18%,T2:60%,T3:50.92%,a.d T4:65.15%).Rega.ding the pa.ticipa.ion of infla.ma.ory pa.hwa.s,the monoterpene(200 mg/kg,p.o.)ha. little impa.t on hista.ine-induced edema.while the edema.induced by a.a.hidonic a.id wa. significa.tly reduced a. a.l time-points(T1:37.04%,T2:24.32%,a.d T3:35.13%,a.d T4:35.53%),which wa. corrobora.ed by the observa.ion tha. the compound inhibited the response triggered by prosta.la.din E2(PGE2),suggesting inter-ference with downstrea. signa.ing ***,terpinolene(200 mg/kg,p.o.)reduced both the weight(21.43%)a.d tota. protein content(36.21%)
