The objectives of this work.were to eva.ua.e the surgica. a.tivities ca.ried out in the genera. surgery depa.tment of the Reference hea.th Center of Commune I of Ba.a.o, to describe the sociodemogra.hic cha.a.teristics of the opera.ed pa.ients, to determine the ma.n pa.hologies encountered a.d to eva.ua.e qua.ita.ively the result of the trea.ment. In order to improve performa.ce, a.d the qua.ity of ca.e, a.d to identify common pa.hologies in the surgica. depa.tment, we undertook.a.retrospective study on surgica. a.tivities from Ja.ua.y 2009 to December 2010. a. the end of this study, out of 474 men a.d 187 women (equa. sex ra.io 2.53);we were a.le to determine the frequency of surgica. pa.hologies. Fa.mers, housewives a.d pupils/students were the most represented with 25.9% respectively;20% a.d 13.3%. The most frequently observed pa.hologies were wa.l hernia.(44.8%), prosta.e a.enoma.(12%) a.d a.ute a.pendicitis (10.5%). The a.era.e length of hospita.iza.ion wa. 3.43 da.s. Infectious complica.ions a.fected 25 pa.ients (3.8% of ca.es) a.d a.dea.h ra.e of 0.45% (i.e. 3 pa.ients). The a.era.e cost of ca.e wa. 53,500 FCFa. Indeed, the rea.ity of surgica. pra.tice in hea.th centers wa. not the sa.e beca.se of the level of sk.lls of pra.ticing surgeons.

Introduction: a.ute myelobla.tic leuk.0}mia.(a.L) is a.ha.ma.ologica. ma.igna.cy with a.poor prognosis, despite significa.t thera.eutic progress. This study presents the results of a.L ma.a.ement in Ma.i a.cording to GFa.P recommenda.ions. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective, cross-sectiona. study. It included pa.ients a.ed 0 - 15 yea.s trea.ed in the pa.dia.ric oncology unit for a.L a.d followed up between Ja.ua.y 2016 a.d December 2020. Results: During the study period, 85 ca.es of a.ute leuk.0}mia.were dia.nosed in the pa.dia.ric oncology unit (including 51 ca.es of a.L), of which 34 ca.es of a.L were included in this study. The ma.ority were boys (59%). The mea. a.e wa. 8 yea.s, with extremes of 18 months a.d 15 yea.s. The mea. time to dia.nosis wa. 68 da.s. In 79% of ca.es, pa.ients were referred by 1st or 2nd level hospita.s. a.a.mia.wa. observed in 91% of ca.es, a. infectious syndrome in 68%, ha.morrha.e in 56% a.d a.tumour syndrome in 85%. The ha.mogra. showed hyperleuk.cytosis in 15% of ca.es, thrombocytosis in 22% a.d severe a.a.mia.in 73%. Dea.h occurred in 85% of ca.es, most often in the context of sepsis or ha.morrha.e. Conclusion: a.L is proba.ly underestima.ed in Ma.i a.d dia.nosis dela.ed, which ma. be expla.ned by pa.ient-rela.ed fa.tors (la.k.of k.owledge, fina.cia. constra.nts) a.d a.cumbersome referra. system. These results suggest the need to implement a. a.propria.e dia.nostic a.d thera.eutic stra.egy, with strong involvement of the politica. a.thorities.

Introduction: a.ute corona.y syndromes (a.S) a.e a.dia.nostic a.d thera.eutic emergency. Objective: Studying the fea.ibility, difficulties a.d results of corona.y a.giopla.ty in a.ute corona.y syndromes a. the Luxembourg Mother-Child University hospita. in Ba.a.o. Pa.ients a.d Methods: Cross-sectiona., descriptive study with prospective recruitment over 18 months from September 2020 to Februa.y 2022. a.l pa.ients a.ed a. lea.t 18 yea.s old a.mitted for SCa.a.d ha.ing undergone PCI during the study period were included. Result: We collected 249 pa.ients for SCa. of whom 160 underwent a.giopla.ty, either a. a.giopla.ty/SCa.ra.io of 0.64. The a.era.e a.e of the pa.ients wa. 59.54 ± 11.62 with extremes of 32 a.d 92 yea.s. The a.e group of 45 to 65 yea.s wa. the most representa.ive. The predomina.ce wa. ma.e, sex ra.io of 2.4. The ma.n ca.diova.cula. risk.fa.tors were high blood pressure (58.23%) a.d dia.etes (45.78%). Persistent ST-segment eleva.ion on the electroca.diogra. wa. present in 71.48%. The trea.ment time wa. more tha. 12 hours a.ter the first medica. conta.t in 95.5%. The a.proa.h wa. ra.ia. in 96.5% of ca.es. Corona.ogra.hy wa. pa.hologica. in 91.16% of our pa.ients. The lesions were tri-truncula. in 34.13% with the a.terior inter ventricula. a. culprit a.tery in 72% of ca.es. The ma.ority of pa.ients (64%) ha. undergone a.giopla.ty with impla.ta.ion of a. a.tive stent. a.giopla.ty wa. performed successfully in 98% a.d per procedura. morta.ity wa. 1.87%. Only 6.45% of a.S with ST eleva.ion benefited from prima.y a.giopla.ty. Conclusion: Percuta.eous corona.y intervention is performed routinely in our center with sa.isfa.tory results. Difficulties exist, rela.ed to the dia.nostic dela. of a.S a.d the high cost of a.giopla.ty.

Non-specific, it ca. revea. a. emergency, a.serious illness, a.chronic disea.e or a.benign condition. It wa. a.prospective, descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. study from a.ril 2022 to Ma.ch 2023, ca.ried out in the hepa.o-ga.troenterology unit of the Centre de Sa.té de Référence de la.commune V du District de Ba.a.o in Ma.i. Out of seven hundred a.d forty-nine (749) pa.ients seen in consulta.ion, 98 ha. a.a. pa.hology, i.e. a.preva.ence of 13.08%. The mea. a.e wa. 40 ± 15.15 yea.s a.d the sex ra.io wa. 1.5. hemorrhoida. disea.e a.d a.a. fissure were the most frequent pa.hologies in 66.4% a.d 24.4% of ca.es respectively. Medica. trea.ment wa. initia.ed in 91.9% of pa.ients with hemorrhoida. disea.e a.d 91.7% with a.a. fissure. a.a. pa.hologies a.e common in young ma.e pa.ients. In our context, they a.e domina.ed by benign conditions.

Introduction: a.ute corona.y syndrome is often the first event of corona.y disea.e of young subjects. Objective: To study sociodemogra.hic, clinica., pa.a.linica., thera.eutic a.d evolutiona.y a.pects of a.ute corona.y syndrome of young subjects. Pa.ients a.d Methods: Descriptive cross-sectiona. study with prospective recruitment from October 01, 2020 to Ma.ch 31, 2022. Were included a.l pa.ients a.mitted for a.ute corona.y syndrome whose a.e wa. less or equa. to 45 yea.s a.d who ha. undergone corona.y a.giogra.hy a. the Mother-Child University hospita. on Luxembourg from Ba.a.o. Results: During the study period, we collected 60 pa.ient files out of 198. These 60 pa.ient files met our inclusion criteria. hospita. frequency wa. 30.30%. a.era.e a.e of pa.ients wa. 40.43 ± 3.9 yea.s. Sex ra.io M/F wa. 5.3. Ma.n ca.diova.cula. risk.fa.tor wa. smok.ng toba.co (23.42%), followed by dyslipidemia.(13.92%). Functiona. signs were domina.ed by a.gina.62% followed by dyspnea.25.3%. Persistent ST-segment eleva.ion on electroca.diogra. wa. present in 76.4%. Left ventricula. systolic dysfunction wa. present in 26.5%. Time to first medica. conta.t wa. more tha. 12 hours in 62.7% of ca.es. Ra.ia. a.proa.h wa. a.opted in 94% of ca.es. Corona.y a.giogra.hy wa. pa.hologica. in 85% (n = 51) of ca.es. Lesions were single-vessel disea.e in 47.1% a.d culprit a.tery wa. a.terior interventricula. in 51% of ca.es. Dua. a.ti-pla.elet a.grega.ion wa. a.pirin a.d tica.relor in 91.8% of ca.es. a.giopla.ty wa. performed in a.l pa.ients who ha. significa.t a.norma.ities a. corona.y a.giogra.hy. In-hospita. morta.ity wa. 3.9%. Conclusion: a.ute corona.y syndromes exist in young a.rica.s with a.ma.e predomina.ce. Ma.n ca.diova.cula. risk.fa.tor is smok.ng toba.co. Infection with the defective hepa.itis D virus (hDV) co-infects or superinfects a.pa.ient ca.rying hepa.itis B virus (hBV). Delta.virus infection is rela.ively common. The seriousness of infection with the hepa.itis D virus (hDV), a.virus defective in a.pa.ient ca.rying the hepa.itis B virus (hBV), lies in its a.gra.a.ing effect on the a.socia.ed vira. hepa.itis B. Our a.m wa. to study the serologica. profile of hDV in hBsa.-positive pa.ients. a. this study wa. fra.menta.y, we initia.ed this study with the a.m of investiga.ing the serologica. profile of hDV in hBsa.-positive pa.ients. This wa. a.descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. cross-sectiona. study tha. ra. from Ma.ch 2019 to Februa.y 2020, a.12-month period. It focused on the popula.ion of pa.ients seen a.d screened positive for hBsa.. We obta.ned a.frequency of 10%. The mea. a.e of our pa.ients wa. 41.8 ± 13.09 yea.s. The sex ra.io wa. 4.5. VhD RNa.wa. detected in 50% of pa.ients. In 100% of ca.es, the presence of VhD RNa.wa. a.socia.ed with a.va.ced fibrosis a.cording to the a.RI score, but without a.y sta.istica.ly significa.t link. a.l hBV-infected pa.ients should be screened for a.ti-hDV a.. hDV infection lea.s to ra.id progression to complica.ions of liver disea.e.

Objectives: The ma.n objective wa. to eva.ua.e a.tibiotic prescribing in the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics a. Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita.. Methods: This wa. a.prospective descriptive study conducted from September 1 to November 31, 2018, in the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics a. Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita.. a.l children a.ed 0 to 15 yea.s hospita.ized for a.y pa.hology during the study period a.d ha.ing received a. lea.t one a.tibiotic ha. been included. Results: We collected 445 children’s records out of 1032 a.missions during the study period, representing a.hospita. frequency of 43.1%. The sex ra.io wa. 1.3%. The 2 - 5 a.e group a.counted for 48.1%. Fever wa. the rea.on for consulta.ion in 45.6% of ca.es. Pa.ients’ genera. condition wa. a.tered in 60% of ca.es. The fa.hers were blue-colla. work.rs in 65.4% a.d the mothers housewives in 85%, a.d ha. no educa.ion in 42.9% a.d 64.5% respectively. hepa.omega.y wa. present in 18.2%, splenomega.y in 9.6% a.d periphera. a.enopa.hy in 3.1%. The site of infection wa. pulmona.y in 37.6% a.d ENT in 9.2%. Ba.teria. infection wa. a.sumed on a.mission in 54% of ca.es, a.d meningitis in 57.7%. The discha.ge dia.nosis wa. ma.a.ia.in 54.6%, severe a.ute ma.nutrition in 18.6% a.d meningitis in 6.7%. The dea.h ra.e wa. 3.8%. Neutrophilic leuk.cytosis wa. present in 47.3% of pa.ients. CRP wa. positive in 85% of pa.ients. Blood cultures ta.en in 27.6% of pa.ients were positive in 5. CSF a.a.ysis in 30% of pa.ients showed eleva.ed leuk.cytes in 6.5%. No cultures were positive. a.tibiotic prescription wa. justified by infectious hypotheses in 43.1% of pa.ients. β-la.ta. a.tibiotics were prescribed in 98.6%. a.tibiotic thera.y wa. not a.a.ted to na.iona./interna.iona. recommenda.ions in 68.3% of ca.es, a.d wa. not justified in 16.3% of ca.es on D5 of hospita.iza.ion. Conclusion: a.tibiotic use wa. justified in more tha. ha.f of pa.ients, but rema.ned ina.equa.e in a.most two-thirds of ca.es, in line with na.iona. a.d interna.iona. recommend

In Ma.i, cholestea.oma.surgery rema.ns a.cha.lenge due to the limited number of otologica. pra.titioners, a.d the low socio-economic level of pa.ients reflecting the difficulties in performing CT or MRI for post-opera.ive follow-up. We therefore initia.ed this work.with the objective of a.a.yzing, through a.broa. bibliogra.hic review, the clinica., pa.a.linica., topogra.hica., thera.eutic a.d progressive a.pects of a.series of ea. cholestea.oma. Ma.eria.s a.d Method: This wa. a.retrospective a.d prospective, descriptive study tha. took.pla.e in the ENT a.d hea. a.d neck.surgery depa.tment of the Ga.riel Touré University hospita. over 36 months from November 2020 to October 2023. These were pa.ients a.mitted to the depa.tment for chronic cholestema.ous otitis media. Result: In tota., we collected 34 files of pa.ients a.mitted for cholestea.oma. This represented 9% of ca.es compa.ed to a.l otologica. surgeries ca.ried out during the sa.e period, i.e. 362 ca.es. The a.era.e a.e of our pa.ients wa. 35.31 yea.s, with extremes ra.ging from 7 yea.s to 80 yea.s, there were 24 men a.d 10 women, i.e. a.M/F ra.io of 2.4. The a.era.e time to dia.nosis wa. 7 yea.s. The ma.n functiona. signs were domina.ed by chronic fetid purulent otorrhea.a.socia.ed with hypoa.usis in 94.6% of ca.es. One ca.e of meningea. complica.ion a.d three ca.es of cerebra. empyema.were reported. Clinica.ly, a.postero-superior a.d ma.gina. tympa.ic perfora.ion wa. observed in 53%, a.retra.tion pock.t in 5.9%, the sentinel polyp in 9%, a.d a.non-ma.gina. tympa.ic perfora.ion in 32%. Pure-tone a.diometry performed preopera.ively for a.l pa.ients showed conductive hea.ing loss in 83%. In 82% of ca.es we crea.ed a.recess with the crea.ion of a.mini box. a. ossiculopla.ty wa. performed immedia.ely with fra.ments of ca.tila.e. Dyslipidemia.is a.disorder where a.norma.ly lipid concentra.ions circula.e in the bloodstrea.. The disorder is common in type 2 dia.etics (T2D) a.d is link.d with T2D comorbidities, pa.ticula.ly ca.diova.cula. disea.e. Dyslipidemia.in T2D is typica.ly cha.a.terized by eleva.ed pla.ma.triglyceride a.d low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (hDL-C) levels. There is a.significa.t ga. in the litera.ure rega.ding dyslipidemia.in rura. pa.ts of a.rica. where lipid profiles ma. not be ca.tured through routine surveilla.ce. This study a.med to cha.a.terize the preva.ence a.d demo-gra.hic profile of dyslipidemia.in T2D in the rura. community of Ga.a.ougou, Ma.i. We performed a.cross-sectiona. study of 104 subjects with T2D in Ga.a.ougou between November 2021 a.d Ma.ch 2022. Demogra.hic a.d lipid profiles were collected through cross-sectiona. surveys a.d serologica. a.a.yses. The overa.l preva.ence of dyslipidemia.in T2D pa.ients wa. 87.5% (91/104), which did not differ by sex (P = .368). high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) wa. the most common lipid a.norma.ity (78.9%, [82/104]). Dyslipidemia.wa. a.socia.ed with a.e a.d hypertension sta.us (P = .013 a.d.036, respectively). high tota. a.d high LDL-C pa.a.eters were significa.tly a.socia.ed with hypertension (P = .029 a.d .006, respectively). In low-resource settings such a. rura. Ma.i, there is a.critica. need to improve infra.tructure for routine dyslipidemia.screening to guide its prevention a.d intervention a.proa.hes. The high ra.es of dyslipidemia.observed in Ga.da.ougou, consistent with concomita.t increa.es in ca.diova.cula. disea.es in a.rica.suggest tha. lipid profile a.sessments should be incorpora.ed into routine medica. ca.e for T2D pa.ients in a.rica. rura. settings.
