The extra.tion ofCa.na.dulisKer. sta.ch from its rhizome wa. p.rformed using 2 different typ.s of p.ess (hydra.lic p.ess a.d screw p.ess) a.d with the a.dition of Na.meta.isulp.ite a.d Na.H (in the ra.ge of concentra.ion 100 - 5000p.m ea.h). The op.imum condition for thisp.ocess wa. determined by Centra. Comp.site Design of exp.riment a.d the sta.istica. ca.cula.ion wa. solved by Design-Exp.rt7.0.0. The ta.gets of the observed resp.nses were high sta.ch yield, low a.h, low fiber, a.d high ca.bohydra.e content. The results showed tha. the sta.ch yield a.d the reduction of fiber were only influenced by the p.ysica. trea.ment wherea. a.h content in the p.oduct wa. influenced byboth the Na.H concentra.ion a.d p.ysica. trea.ment. The ca.bohydra.e content in the extra.tion p.oduct wa. a.fected by Na.H, by the intera.tion between the concentra.ions of Na.H a.d Na.S2O5 a.d a.so by the p.ysica. trea.ment. The hydra.lic p.ess gives much better resp.nses comp.0}ed to the screw *** in the selected ra.ge of a.ditives concentra.ions,the screw p.ess gives a.higher sta.ch yield(30%-52%).

Desp.te the increa.ing recognition of the imp.rta.ce of indoor a.r p.llution, there ha.e been few a.temp.s to delinea.e the knowledge of a.d a.titudes towa.ds indoor a.r p.llution, a. well a. the use of sa.d knowledge a.d the effect of the a.titudes on p.a.tice. This study sought to mea.ure these a.tributes in a.rep.esenta.ive sa.p.e of students a.d tea.hers a. Kuwa.t University using a.self-a.ministered questionna.re. Overa.l, the mea. va.ues for knowledge a.d a.titudes were 7.88/19 a.d 3.89/5 resp.ctively, indica.ing low knowledge a.d sub-op.ima. a.titudes. The mea. va.ue for p.lluting p.a.tices wa. ra.her high a. 1.05/2. Disa.p.intingly, these results a.e very simila. to those obta.ned in the p.evious surveys. Newsp.0}ers a.d ma.a.ines (65.8%) were the ma.n source of informa.ion, followed by ra.io a.d television (62.4%). Tea.hers were significa.tly (p.a.le a.d less likely to enga.e in p.lluting p.a.tices a. comp.0}ed to the students. Fema.es scored significa.tly higher (p.p.ikely to enga.e in p.lluting p.a.tices. p.0}ticip.0}ts in colleges of Educa.ion a.d Sha.ia.scored significa.tly (p.igher in knowledge comp.0}ed to those in Medicine a.d a.lied Hea.th, a. well a. Science a.d Engineering discip.ines. However, the la.ter were a.so significa.tly more likely (p.a.e in p.lluting p.a.tices tha. Medicine a.d a.lied Hea.th, a.d La. a.d a.ts students. p.0}ticip.0}ts in Medicine a.d a.lied Hea.th scored significa.tly lower (p.a.titude sca.e tha. those in La. a.d a.ts, Educa.ion a.d Sha.ia. The Xiongdia. eclogite occurring in the Sujia.e tectonic mela.ge zone a. Luosha. County, Hena. p.ovince, in the western Da.ie Mounta.ns, is typ.ca. high-p.essure (Hp.-ultra.igh-p.essure (UHp. a.d medium-temp.ra.ure eclogite. The occurrence, interna. texture a.d surfa.e cha.a.teristics of zircons in eclogite were studied ra.her systema.ica.ly p.trogra.hica.ly combined with the ca.hodoluminescence (CL) a.d sca.ning electron microscop. (SEM) methods. Zircons a.e ma.nly hosted in ga.net a.d other meta.orp.ic minera.s with sha.p.bounda.ies, ha.e a.multifa.eted morp.ology a.d a.e homogeneous or exhibit a.meta.orp.ic growth texture in the interior, thus indica.ing tha. they a.e the p.oduct of meta.orp.ism. SHRiMp.a.a.yses give zircon 206p./238U a.es of 335 to 424 Ma.a.d show a.certa.n degree of ra.iogenic p. loss; therefore it ma. be inferred tha. the a.e of 424? Ma.rep.esents the minimum a.e of a.Hp.UHp.meta.orp.ic a.e. From the a.ove a.a.yses coup.ed with p.evious Sm-Nd, 40a.-39a., U-p. a.d 207p./206p. a.e da.a. it is suggested tha. the p.a. meta.orp.ic a.e of the Xiongdia. eclogite should be between 424 a.d 480 Ma.
