The morphology a.d cha.a.teristics of gra.ula. ba.nite (GB) in pipeline steels a. different continuous cooling ra.es were investiga.ed by sca.ning electron microscopy, tra.smission electron microscopy a.d electron ba.k-sca.tered diffra.tion (EBSD). The results show tha. the morphology of ferrite ma.rix in GB turned from the la.h shea. structure into the nea.ly equia.ed la.ge gra.n with the cooling ra.e decrea.ing from high (60℃/s) to low (5-10℃/s). a. the medium cooling ra.e (20-40℃/s), GB consisted of the irregula. ferrite ma.rix, the gra.ula. ma.tensite/a.stenite (M/a. constituents a.d a.unda.t substructures inside. The forma.ion of the irregula. ferrite a.d substructure wa. a.tributed to the high-tempera.ure recovery which occurred a. rela.ively high-tempera.ure sta.e before pha.e tra.sforma.ion. The gra.ula. morphology of M/a.constitu-ents wa. formed from the ca.bon-rich triple junctions which were produced by the multidirectiona. substructure interfa.es converged with ea.h other. Pa.ticula.ly, some ma.tensite in M/a.constituents wa. misoriented from the a.ja.ent ferrite by very sma.l misorienta.ion a.gle, which could be cha.a.terized by the mea. ba.d contra.t function of EBSD qua.ita.ively or semiqua.tita.ively.

To explore the effect of ca.yon topogra.hy on the seismic response of ra.lwa. irregula. bridge-tra.k system tha. crosses a.V-sha.ed ca.yon, seismic ground motions of the horizonta. site a.d V-sha.ed ca.yon site were simula.ed through theoretica. a.a.ysis with 12 ea.thqua.e records selected from the Pa.ific Ea.thqua.e Engineering Resea.ch Center(PEER) Strong Ground Motion Da.a.a.e ma.ching the site condition of the *** seismic response a.a.yses of a. existing 11-spa. irregula. simply supported ra.lwa. bridge-tra.k system were performed under the simula.ed spa.ia.ly va.ying ground motions. The effects of the V-sha.ed ca.yon topogra.hy on the pea. ground a.celera.ion a. bridge founda.ions a.d seismic responses of the bridge-tra.k system were a.a.yzed. Compa.isons between the results of horizonta. a.d V-sha.ed ca.yon sites show tha. the top rela.ive displa.ement between a.ja.ent piers a. the junction of the incident side a.d the ba.k side of the V-sha.ed site is a.most two times tha. of the horizonta. site, which a.so determines the seismic response of the fa.tener. The ma.imum displa.ement of the fa.tener occurs in the V-sha.ed ca.yon site a.d is 1.4 times la.ger tha. tha. in the horizonta. site. Neglecting the effect of V-sha.ed ca.yon lea.s to the ina.propria.e a.sessment of the ma.imum seismic response of the irregula. high-speed ra.lwa. bridge-tra.k system. Moreover, engineers should focus on the girder end to the left or right of the two fa.teners within the dista.ce of tra.k seismic da.a.e.

We show tha. fully dense na.ocrysta.line tita.a.e cera.ic could be obta.ned by full crysta.liza.ion from gla.s which wa. prepa.ed by a.novel conta.tless solidifica.ion process. Through a.nea.ing a.ove gla.s tra.sition tempera.ure T g for prescribed dura.ion, Ba.i2O5 cera.ic with gra.n size of 20–130 nm wa. successfully fa.rica.ed. The dependence of the na.ocera.ic’s dielectric consta.t a.d dissipa.ion on frequency wa. investiga.ed. The results show clea.ly tha. the dielectric consta.t of Ba.i2O5 na.ocera.ic depends on a.era.e gra.n size in na.ometer sca.e, a.d a. optima. ra.ge of the gra.n size is found which exhibits grea.er dielectric consta.t tha. conventiona. microcrysta.line cera.ics. The a.-fa.rica.ed cera.ic a.so possesses lower dielectric dissipa.ion, which ca. be ma.nly a.tributed to the presence of na.ometer-sized gra.ns.

The indirect bounda.y element method is used to study the 3D dyna.ic response of a. infinitely long a.luvia. va.ley embedded in a.sa.ura.ed la.ered ha.f-spa.e for obli- quely incident SV wa.es. a.wa.e-number tra.sform is first a.plied a.ong the va.ley＇s a.is to reduce a.3D problem to a.2D pla.e stra.n problem. The problem is then solved in the section perpendicula. to the a.is of the va.ley. Fina.ly, the 3D dyna.ic responses of the va.ley a.e obta.ned by a. inverse wa.e-number tra.sform. The va.idity of the method is con- firmed by compa.ison with releva.t results. The differences between the responses a.ound the va.ley embedded in dry a.d in sa.ura.ed poroela.tic medium a.e studied, a.d the effects of dra.na.e conditions, porosity, soil la.er stiffness, a.d soil la.er thickness on the dyna.ic response a.e dis- cussed in deta.l resulting in some conclusions.

In this study, we trea.ed PC12 cells with 0-20 μM a.yloid-β peptide （25-35） for 24 hours to induce cytotoxicity, a.d found tha. 5-20 μM a.yloid-β peptide （25-35） decrea.ed PC12 cell via.ility, but a.enosine triphospha.e-sensitive pota.sium cha.nel a.tiva.or dia.oxide suppressed the decrea.e in PC12 cell via.ility induced by a.yloid-β peptide （25-35）. Dia.oxide protected PC12 cells a.a.nst a.yloid-β peptide （25-35）-induced increa.es in mitochondria. membra.e potentia. a.d intra.ellula. rea.tive oxygen species levels. These protective effects were reversed by the selective mitochondria. a.enosine triphospha.e-sensitive pota.sium cha.nel blocker 5-hydroxydeca.oa.e. a. inducible nitric oxide syntha.e inhibitor, Nw-nitro-L-a.ginine, a.so protected PC12 cells from a.yloid-β peptide （25-35）-induced increa.es in both mitochondria. membra.e potentia. a.d intra.ellula. rea.tive oxygen species levels. However, the H202-degra.ing enzyme ca.a.a.e could not reverse the a.yloid-β peptide （25-35）-induced increa.e in intra.ellula. rea.tive oxygen species. a.24-hour exposure to a.yloid-13 peptide （25-35） did not result in a.optosis or necrosis, suggesting tha. the increa.es in both mitochondria. membra.e potentia. a.d rea.tive oxygen species levels preceded cell dea.h. The da.a.suggest tha. a.yloid-β peptide （25-35） cytotoxicity is a.socia.ed with a.enosine triphospha.e-sensitive pota.sium cha.nels a.d nitric oxide. Regula.ion of a.enosine triphospha.e-sensitive pota.sium cha.nels suppresses PC12 cell cytotoxicity induced by a.yloid-β peptide （25-35）.

Excessive fluoride exposure is known to contribute to reproductive system dysfunction,ultima.ely lea.ing to pa.hologica. da.a.e a.d a.optosis in cells. a.though both oxida.ive a.d endopla.mic reticulum（ER） stresses ha.e been implica.ed in fluorosis, the signa.ing pa.hwa.s a.d their roles in sodium fluoride（Na.F）-induced a.optosis of Sertoli cells ha.e been spa.sely described. In this study, oxida.ive da.a.e, ER stress, a.d a.optosis were a.a.yzed a.ter Sertoli cells were trea.ed with va.ying doses of Na.F for 24 hr. Moreover, the a.tioxida.t N-a.etylcysteine（Na.） a.d pro-a.optotic tra.scription fa.tor CHOP knockdown were used to cla.ify the precise interpla. between rea.tive oxygen species（ROS）, ER stress a.d their roles in Na.-induced a.optosis in Sertoli cells. The present study indica.ed tha. Na. significa.tly decrea.ed cell via.ility a.d induced a.optosis in Sertoli cells. In a.dition, Na. exposure fa.ilita.ed the a.cumula.ion of ROS a.d increa.ed nuclea. tra.sloca.ion of nuclea. fa.tor erythroid 2-rela.ed fa.tor 2（Nrf2） in Sertoli cells. Trea.ment with Na. ca.sed rema.ka.le recovery from these Na.-induced responses. Mea.while, excessive Na. triggered ER stress a. evidenced by up-regula.ed glucose-regula.ed protein 78 k Da.GRP78）, PKR-like ER kina.e（PERK）, phosphoryla.ion of euka.yotic tra.sla.ion initia.ion fa.tor 2α（p-eI F2α） a.d CCa.T/enha.cer-binding protein-homologous protein（CHOP）, without a.fecting tota. euka.yotic tra.sla.ion initia.ion fa.tor 2α（e IF2α）. Na. effectively blocked the a.tiva.ion of ER stress, suggesting tha. Na.F-induced ROS is a. ea.ly event tha. triggers ER stress. Ta.en together, the results demonstra.e tha. the ROS-media.ed ER stress pa.hwa. is the crucia. mecha.istic event involved in Na.-induced a.optosis of Sertoli cells.
