Numerical simulation of EMS position on flow, solidification and inclusion capture in slab continuous casting

Electromagnetic stirring(EMS)is a well-known and widely used technology for controlling the fluid flow in continuous casting mold,and therein the selection of stirrer position is closely related to final *** investigate the effect of stirrer position on initial solidification and inclusion capturing,a mathematical model coupling with electromagnetic field,turbulence flow,solidification,and inclusion movement was *** comparing the magnetic flux density,flow field and solidified shell thickness with measured data,the reliability of the mathematical model was *** uniform index has been introduced to judge the uniformity of solidified shell,and the washing effects of EMS on the numbers and distribution of captured inclusions were *** results show that a diagonal jet flow toward the mold wide face has generated when EMS is applied,and upper EMS position can effectively improve the uniformity of temperature and the solidified shell within the ***,due to the washing effect of EMS,the number of inclusions inside the solidified shell decreases,and the distribution of captured inclusions along the mold width changes *** the stirrer position,the uniform index decreases firstly and then increases,and the probability of inclusion capture by solidified shell ***,the upper stirrer position is suggested,with which the uniformity of solidified shell and cleanliness of slab are rational.

Vector meson's spin alignments in high energy reactions

The global spin alignment of vector mesons has been observed by the STAR collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider （RHIC） at Brookhaven National Laboratory （BNL）.It provides a unique opportunity to probe the correlation between the polarized quark and antiquark in the strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma （sQGP） produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions,opening a new window to explore the properties of s *** addition,spin alignments of vector mesons have also been observed in other high-energy particle collisions such as e+e-annihilations at high energies where hadron production is dominated by quark fragmentation *** results obtained are quite different from those obtained in heavy ion collisions where quark coalescence/combination mechanism dominates suggesting strong dependence on hadronization *** comprehensive studies in different hadronization processes are *** this article,we present a brief review of theoretical and experimental advances in the study of vector meson’s spin alignments in a variety of high-energy particle collisions,with emphasis on hadronization mechanisms.

Insight into the particle shape on the impact of dry granular flow against a rigid barrier: A DEM study

The effect of particle shape on the impact of dry granular flow remains an open area for further investigation. Five distinct particle shapes were examined in this study using discrete element simulations after calibrating the numerical model using a published work. The findings indicated that the particle shape had a significant influence on granular mobility. With negligible variations in normalized kinetic energy between particles of different shapes， the effect of particle shape on the increasing rate of kinetic energy became more obvious. All irregular particle scenarios had longer accumulated particle lengths down the channel than spherical particles. Variations in particle shape led to adjustments in the distribution of impact forces on the barrier. These findings substantially enhance our understanding of the distinctive effects of particle shapes on the impact mechanism of dry granular flow.

初夏冲绳海槽中南部海域悬浮体含量的分布特点为：表层水体中部海区高，南北海区低；中底层水体自南西至北东由低至高．从陆架到海槽断面的悬浮体含量分布为陆架最高值区、陆坡最低值区和海槽低值区．悬浮体组成包括矿物岩石碎屑、生物骨屑以及絮凝体．矿物岩石碎屑主要分布在陆架区中、下层水体，生物骨屑主要分布在海槽区（整个水层）和陆架区上层水体，絮凝体在研究区都有分布．海槽区与陆架区的悬浮体含量垂直分布和组分特征具有明显的差异．研究区悬浮体分布和组成主要受控于黑潮对陆架物质向冲绳海槽输送的阻隔、生物生产量以及地形、地理环境．

Circular RNAs(circRNAs) play pivotal roles in the development and progression of various diseases, including malignant tumors. However,the biological functions and the underlying mechanisms of many circRNAs remain elusive. In this study, we identified a novel circRNA,circTP63-N, generated through the splicing of exons 2–4 of the TP63 gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC). circTP63-N was found to be downregulated in clinical samples of NPC. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments unequivocally demonstrated that circTP63-N inhibits the proliferation and metastasis of NPC cells. Further investigations revealed that circTP63-N interacted with the HSP90AB1 protein, leading to the recruitment of LATS/YAP1 proteins. This, in turn, induced phosphorylation and ubiquitination-dependent degradation of YAP1, resulting in reduced nuclear translocation of YAP1 and inhibition of the transcriptional activation of downstream oncogenic genes, including INHBA, MMP3, and CCNE2. Our findings highlight the identification of circTP63-N, a novel circRNA encoded by an important tumor-relevant gene TP63 and elucidate its molecular mechanism as a tumor suppressor in NPC. These insights offer novel potential molecular markers and therapeutic targets for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of NPC.

Hybrid Local-global Power-sharing Scheme for Droop-free Controlled Microgrids

The droop-free control adopted in microgrids has been designed to cope with global power-sharing goals,i.e.,sharing disturbance mitigation among all controllable assets to even their ***,limited by neighboring communication,the time-consuming peer-to-peer coordination of the droopfree control slows down the nodal convergence to global consensus,reducing the power-sharing efficiency as the number of nodes *** this end,this paper first proposes a local power-sharing droop-free control scheme to contain disturbances within nearby nodes,in order to reduce the number of nodes involved in the coordination and accelerate the convergence speed.A hybrid local-global power-sharing scheme is then put forward to leverage the merits of both schemes,which also enables the autonomous switching between local and global power-sharing modes according to the system *** guidance for key control parameter designs is derived via the optimal control methods,by optimizing the power-sharing distributions at the steady-state consensus as well as along the dynamic trajectory to *** system stability of the hybrid scheme is proved by the eigenvalue analysis and Lyapunov direct ***,simulation results validate that the proposed hybrid local-global power-sharing scheme performs stably against disturbances and achieves the expected control performance in local and global power-sharing modes as well as mode ***,compared with the classical global power-sharing scheme,the proposed scheme presents promising benefits in convergence speed and scalability.

Improving the off-resonance energy harvesting performance using dynamic magnetic preloading

Piezoelectric stack transducers in d33 mode have a much higher mechanical-to-electric energy conversion efficiency compared with d3l mode piezoelectric ***,multilayered piezoelectric stacks usually operate in off-resonance due to the higher stiffness and thereby have a lower power output under low-frequency *** paper proposes to apply the dynamic magnetic pre-loading to a piezoelectric stack transducer to significantly increase the power *** energy harvesting system consists of a multilayered piezoelectric stack with a compliant force amplification frame,a proof mass,and two magnets configured in *** static force-displacement relationship of the magnets is identified from experiments and extended to a dynamic model capable of characterizing the dynamic magnetic *** electromechanical model is developed based on the theoretical derivation and the experimentally identified parameters to predict the voltage outputs under different resistive *** analytical solutions are derived by using the harmonic balance method and show good agreements with the numerical and experimental *** performance of the system is examined and compared with that of the harvester without magnetic *** influences of the distance between the two magnets and the electrical resistive loads on the power output are *** indicate the energy harvesting system with magnetic pre-loading can produce over thousand times more power than the system without magnetic pre-loading at the base excitation of 3 Hz and 0.5 m/s……2,far below the resonance at 243 Hz.

Molecular modification of Bacillus stearothermophilus NO_(2) cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase and preparation of α-cyclodextrin

Cyclodextrin(CD)is produced by the catalysis of starch or starch derivatives by cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase(CGTase),and its yield is mainly limited by the product and reaction specificity of *** this study,we use CGTase derived from Bacillus stearothermophilus NO_(2),exhibiting high expression levels and good stability for molecular *** N353A mutant effectively decreases the hydrolysis activity,and the ratio of the k_(cat) values(cyclization to hydrolysis activity)is 86.46,which is threefold that of the wild *** E142P mutant effectively enhancesα-CD specificity,which increases the ratio of k_(cat) values(α-CD toβ-CD formation)from 2.18 of the wild-type to *** N353A/E142P mutant weakens the hydrolysis side reaction and enhancesα-CD specificity,and the proportion ofα-CD products is 53.67%,which is 15.62%higher than that of the *** research focuses on CGTase reaction and product specificities,which suggest a novel method for the industrial production ofα-CD.

Application of deep learning to estimate stratospheric gravity wave potential energy

One of the most important dynamic processes in the middle and upper atmosphere,gravity waves(GWs)play a key role in determining global atmospheric *** wave potential energy(GW Ep)is an important parameter that characterizes GW intensity,so it is critical to understand its global *** this paper,a deep learning algorithm(DeepLab V3+)is used to estimate the stratospheric GW *** deep learning model inputs are ERA5 reanalysis datasets and GMTED2010 terrain *** Ep averaged over 20−30 km from 60°S−60°N,calculated by COSMIC radio occultation(RO)data,is used as the measured value corresponding to the model *** results show that(1)this method can effectively estimate the zonal trend of GW ***,the errors between the estimated and measured value of Ep are larger in low-latitude regions than in mid-latitude regions,possibly due to the large number of convolution operations used in the deep learning ***,the measured Ep has errors associated with interpolation to the grid;this tends to be amplified in low-latitude regions because the GW Ep is larger and the RO data are relatively sparse,affecting the training accuracy.(2)The estimated Ep shows seasonal variations,which are stronger in the winter hemisphere and weaker in the summer hemisphere.(3)The effect of quasi-biennial oscillation(QBO)can be clearly observed in the monthly variation of estimated GW Ep,and its QBO amplitude may be less than that of the measured Ep.
