Clinicopathological features and surgical outcomes of resected functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors: a single institution experience

Background:Functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors(f-PannETs)are rare tumors of the pancreas that are associated with excess hormone production.A majority of literature available on these tumors is limited to case reports and small series and discusses a particular ***,we report the clinicopathological features and outcomes of all f-PannETs from a high-volume pancreatectomy ***:A prospectively maintained database was used to identify patients who underwent resection for f-PannETs between January 1995 and December *** were stratified by the type of f-PannET,and their clinicopathological features and outcomes were analyzed and ***:We identified 69 patients with a mean age of 52±16 years,and the majority were female(62%).The most common type of f-PannET were insulinomas(70%)followed by gastrinomas(15%),and vasoactive intestinal peptidomas(VIPomas)(10%).There was considerable heterogeneity in the presenting *** with insulinomas presented with smaller tumors compared to the other *** disease was most frequent in patients with VIPomas(71%),and gastrinomas(50%).The median overall survival(OS)was 7.4 *** Ki-67 and age>65 years were associated with poorer *** was observed in 8 patients(12%)and was most frequent in patients with *** was associated with a poorer OS(P=.012).Conclusion:f-PannETs are exceedingly rare and present with a wide variety of symptoms,histopathological findings,and *** resection can help achieve good long-term survival.

Over the years,efforts have been made to study stress as a potential human psychological aspects that possibly effect the routine life of people in different *** still exists a wide gap for such behavioral studies in developing countries like *** study is an effort to bridge that gap by considering the perceived stress and its possible effects on driving performance of car *** online questionnaire survey was conducted using the Perceived Stress Scale（PSS-10）and Driver Stress Inventory（DSI）as a self-administered study for a sample size of n= *** impact of stress on five dimensions of modified version of DSI（aggression,dislike of driving,hazard monitoring,proneness to fatigue and thrill seeking）,according to Pakistani drivers was evaluated by *** and income of the respondents were taken into account as potential influencers of perceived *** results have shown stress to be a potential cause of eliciting negative impact on driving performance which happens to be consistent with the previous researches in this *** with high stress levels scored high on the sub scales of DSI specifically for dislike of ***,high dislike of driving in driving was linked to more attention towards hazard monitoring while driving i-e drivers tend to be more cautious while *** from the middle age group came out to be less likely to control the hazards on the street as compared to the drivers of younger ***,participants with more household income had significantly less hazard monitoring score than those earning less *** work can consider a bigger sample size for further validation of both PSS and DSI.
