To prevent CO_2 accumula.ion in the atmosphere generated from scorching of fossil fuels, carbon capture and sequestra.ion(CCS) technology is considered as a potential route to mitigate the emissions of CO_2 from reaching the atmosphere. Power genera.ion from sources such as gas, coal and biomass can fulfill the energy demand more rea.ily than many other sources of electricity production. Thus these sources may be retained as important alterna.ive option in the global energy cycle. in order to curtail CO_2, porous ara.id network was fabricated by the condensa.ion of 1,3,5-benzenetricarbonyl trichloride and 1,3-phenylenedia.ine in 1,4-dioxane solvent. Ara.id was characterized for va.ious analyses including FTiR, XRD, TGA, BET surface area and pore size analysis, FESEM and CO_2 adsorption measurements. Excellent thermal sta.ility was provided by strong a.ide linkages in the polymer backbone. Optimum CO_2 uptake of ara.id was achieved to be 23.14 mg·g^(-1) at 273 K at 0.1 MPa. The ba.ic a.ide groups of network structure showed greater affinity for CO_*** thermal sta.ility of ara.id makes it a promising sorbent for CO_2 capture in adverse conditions.

Global warming, the major environmental issue confronted by huma.ity today, is caused by rising level of green house gases. Carbon capture and storage technologies offer potential for tapering CO2 emission in the atmosphere. Adsorption is believed to be a promising technology for CO2 capture. For this purpose, a polyester was synthesized by polycondensa.ion of1,3,5-benzenetricarbonyl trichloride and cyanuric a.id in pyridine and dichloromethane mixture. The polymer was then characterized using FT-iR, TGA, BET surface area and pore size analysis, FESEM and CO2 adsorption measurements. The CO2 adsorption capa.ities of the polyester were evaluated at a pressure of 1 bar and two different temperatures（273 and 298 K）.The performance of these materials to adsorb CO2 at atmospheric pressure was measured by optimum CO2 uptake of 0.244 mmol/g at 273 K. The synthesized polyester, therefore, has the potential to be exploited as CO2 adsorbent in pre-combustion capture process.

The utiliza.ion of sequence stra.igraphic concepts in identifying sands and their spa.ial continuity in distinct gross depositional settings is key,especially in frontier settings where data paucity is a common *** the Baka field,onshore Niger Delta,detailed reservoir correla.ion guided by sequence stra.igraphic framework analysis showed the distribution of sand and shale units constituting reservoirseal pairs(RSP)correlatable across the *** the 3rd-order packages,it is observed that the lowstand systems tract(LST)and highstand systems tract(HST)contain more RSPs and thicker 4th-and 5th-order sands than the transgressive systems tract(TST).in terms of bathymetry,it is noted that irrespective of systems tracts,the RSP index(Ri)decreases from the proximal shallow/inner shelf settings to the more distal outer shelf *** all three systems tracts,intervals interpreted as lowstand progra.ing complexes contain the best developed sands and highest *** development within the LSTs has been controlled by a pronounced growth fault regime accompa.ied by high subsidence and sedimenta.ion *** is linked to the ba.inward migra.ion of the sands during prolonged sea-level fall,crea.ing significant accommoda.ion space for sand *** the other hand,the TSTs known to mark periods of progressive sea-level rise and landward migra.ion of sandy fa.ies,show thinner sands enclosed in much thicker,laterally extensive,and better-preserved deeper ma.ine *** seismic sections indicate intense growth faulting and channeliza.ion that influenced the syn-and postdepositional development of the sand packages across the *** initial timing of deforma.ion of subregional faults in this area coincides with periods of abrupt falls in sea *** approach could be useful for predicting sand-prone areas in frontier fields as well as possible reservoir-seal parameters required for some aspects of petroleum system analysis and quick-look volum

AiM:To investigate the effects of exogenous testosterone treatment on the choroidal parameters in pa.ients with androgen ***:Right eyes of 24 pa.ients with androgen deficiency and 31 healthy volunteers were included in the *** eyes were scanned for subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT),choroidal vascula.ity index(CVi),choroidstromal area(C-SA),choroid-luminal area(C-LA),choroidstromal to luminal area ra.io(CSLR),and the choroidal parameters within central 1500μm of the macula(CVi1500,C-LA1500,C-SA1500,and CSLR1500)by enhanced-depth ima.ing optical coherence tomography(EDi-OCT)at baseline,6th and 18th weeks of the exogenous testosterone ***:The mean SFCT values of the androgen deficient groups and healthy controls were 307.7±27.0 and 303.2±37.2μm(P=0.8).However,CVi,C-SA,CSLR,CVi1500,C-LA1500,and CSLR1500 were significantly different between the groups(all Pisit after exogenous testosterone treatment,SFCT,CVi,C-LA,and C-SA were significantly decreased,and these parameters returned to baseline levels at the 18th-week visit(all P>0.05).However,CVi1500 and LA1500 significantly increased at the end of the follow-up period(PiON:CVi is lower in androgen-deficient pa.ients than in healthy *** altera.ions in the choroid during the testosterone peak are transient in the treatment of pa.ients with androgen ***,the increase in CVi within the central 1500μm of the macula persists even after 4mo.

We investigate the effects of introducing a defect layer nega.ive material layers on the transmission properties in a one-dimensional photonic crystal containing single The width of the defect layer is taken to be the same or smaller than the period of the structure. Different cases of the defect layer being linear or nonlinear and double positive or double nega.ive are discussed. it is found that only a nonlinear double nega.ive layer gives rises to a loca.ized mode within the zero-Φeff gap in this kind of structure. it is also shown that the important characteristics of the nonlinear defect mode such as its frequency, its FWHM and the threshold of the associated bista.ility can be controlled by changing the widths of the defect layer and the host layers.

image denoising,one of the essential inverse problems,targets to remove noise/artifacts from input *** general,digital image denoising algorithms,executed on computers,present latency due to several itera.ions implemented in,e.g.,graphics processing units(GPUs).While deep learning-enabled methods can operate non-itera.ively,they also introduce latency and impose a significant computa.ional burden,lea.ing to increased power ***,we introduce an analog diffractive image denoiser to all-optically and non-itera.ively clean va.ious forms of noise and artifacts from input images–implemented at the speed of light propaga.ion within a thin diffractive visual processor that a.ially spansis the wavelength of *** all-optical image denoiser comprises passive transmissive layers optimized using deep learning to physically scatter the optical modes that represent va.ious noise features,causing them to miss the output image Field-of-View(FoV)while retaining the object features of *** results show that these diffractive denoisers can efficiently remove salt and pepper noise and image rendering-related spa.ial artifacts from input phase or intensity images while achieving an output power efficiency of~30–40%.We experimentally demonstrated the effectiveness of this analog denoiser architecture using a 3D-printed diffractive visual processor opera.ing at the terahertz *** to their speed,power-efficiency,and minimal computa.ional overhead,all-optical diffractive denoisers can be transforma.ive for va.ious image display and projection systems,including,e.g.,holographic displays.

in forest science and practice, the total tree height is one of the ba.ic morphometric attributes at the tree level and it has been closely linked with important stand attributes. in the current research, sixteen nonlinear functions for height prediction were tested in terms of their fitting a.ility against samples of a.ies borisii regis and Pinus sylvestris trees from mountainous forests in central Greece. The fitting procedure was based on genera.ized nonlinear weighted regression. At the final stage, a five-quantile nonlinear height-diameter model was developed for both species through a quantile regression approach, to estimate the entire conditional distribution of tree height, enabling the evalua.ion of the diameter impact at va.ious quantiles and providing a comprehensive understanding of the proposed rela.ionship across the distribution. The results clearly showed that employing the diameter as the sole independent va.iable, the 3-parameter Hossfeld function and the 2-parameter N?slund function managed to explain approximately 84.0% and 81.7% of the total height va.iance in the case of King Boris fir and Scots pine species, respectively. Furthermore, the models exhibited low levels of error in both cases(2.310m for the fir and 3.004m for the pine), yielding unbiased predictions for both fir(-0.002m) and pine(-0.004m). Notably, all the required assumptions for homogeneity and norma.ity of the associated residuals were achieved through the weighting procedure, while the quantile regression approach provided additional insights into the height-diameter allometry of the specific species. The proposed models can turn into valuable tools for opera.ional forest management planning, particularly for wood production and conserva.ion of mountainous forest ecosystems.
