We investigate the effects of introducing a defect layer negative material layers on the transmission properties in a one-dimensional photonic crystal containing single The width of the defect layer is taken to be the same or smaller than the period of the structure. Different cases of the defect layer being linear or nonlinear and double positive or double negative are discussed. It is found that only a nonlinear double negative layer gives rises to a localized mode within the zero-Φeff gap in this kind of structure. It is also shown that the important characteristics of the nonlinear defect mode such as its frequency, its FWHM and the threshold of the associated bistability can be controlled by changing the widths of the defect layer and the host layers.

OBJECTIVE:Angelica archangelica *** widely used in food and liquor preparations and also in Kashmiri folk medicine to reduce *** evaluated the anxiolytic effect of successive extracts of *** linn.(SAE) on rats tested in the elevated T-maze test(an animal model of generalized anxiety) at doses that exhibit antidepressant-like activity in ***:***(1 kg) was subjected to successive extraction in a soxhlet apparatus with solvents [petroleum ether(40-60℃),chloroform,ethyl acetate,methanol and decoction with water] in order of increasing polarity(yield:6.9%,7.3%,5.1%,11.88% and 8.2% w/w,respectively).SAE were evaluated for anxiolytic effects using the elevated T-maze and forced swimming tests in ***:Oral dosing of diazepam(1 mg/kg) and extracts(50,100 and 200 mg/kg) clearly showed an anxiolytic-like profile in the elevated T-maze test:it increased one-way escape and decreased inhibitory avoidance on the first,third and seventh *** the forced swimming test,imipramine and SAE showed antidepressant-and anxiolytic-like effects as reflected by increased climbing time,swimming time and decreased immobility time on the first,third and seventh *** and methanol extracts showed the most,petroleum ether(40-60℃) and chloroform intermediate,and ethyl acetate the least anxiolytic activity(*P<0.05,**P<0.01,***P< 0.001) in both ***:These results suggest the anti-anxiety activity of various extracts of *** and strongly justify its use in traditional Indian medicine for the treatment of anxiety.

Effect of loading rate and time delay on the tangent modulus method(TMM)in coal and coal measured rocks

Non-destructive techniques of in-situ stress measurement from oriented cored rocks have great potential to be developed as a cost cost-effective and reliable alternative to the conventional overcoring and hydraulic fracturing *** tangent modulus method(TMM)is one such technique that can be applied to oriented cored rocks to measure in-situ *** the deformation rate analysis(DRA),the rock specimen is subjected to two cycles of uniaxial compression and the stress-tangent modulus curve for the two cycles is obtained from the stress-strain curve.A bending point in the tangent modulus curve of the first cycle is observed,separating it from the tangent modulus curve of the second *** point of separation between the two curves is assumed to be the previously applied maximum stress.A number of experiments were conducted on coal and coal measured rocks(sandstone and limestone)to understand the effect of loading conditions and the time *** specimens were preloaded,and cyclic compressions were applied under three different modes of loading,four different strain rates,and time delays of up to one *** bending point in the stress-tangent modulus curves occurred approximately at the applied pre-stress levels under all three loading modes,and no effect of loading rate was observed on the bending points in ***,a clear effect of time delay was observed on the TMM,contradicting the DRA *** could be due to the sensitivity of TMM and the range of its applicability,all of which need further investigation for the in-situ stress measurement.

Textile industries extensively use colorants,such as methylene blue,and if disposed off untreated,they contaminate the effluent streams,causing a severe impact on the environment and aquatic *** degradation has been found as an inevitable approach to treat ***,we decorated the copper oxide nanoparticles on graphene nanosheets during the reflux *** resultant copper oxide/graphene nanocomposites were analyzed for structural and functional *** was observed that on increasing the copper oxide contents,the z-average size of the resultant nanocomposites *** X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrated the crystalline nature of the *** surface morphology of the copper oxide nanoparticles appeared to be spherical and that of the copper oxide/graphene composite somehow *** infrared analysis indicated successful intercalation of precursors in the *** bandgap of copper oxide/graphene nanocomposites varied in the range of 1.03—1.30 eV,which indicated their effective photocatalytic *** results demonstrated that after 120 min of exposure,the methylene blue removal efficiency reached 94.0%,92.2%,and 89.4%(mass fraction)on the copper oxide/graphene nanocomposite at copper oxide nanoparticles to graphene nanosheets ratios of 1:1,1.5:1,and 2:1(mass ratio),*** photodegradation performance of the prepared nano-catalyst was found satisfactory even after five cycles.

Qila Bala Hisar is one of the noteworthy places of Peshawar,Khyber *** fort was constructed on a flled ground during the 18th century and it was renovated several times by the occupants ever ***,due to an earthquake of magnitude 7.3,the upper part of the south-western wall of the fort *** collapse of the wall was attributed to the failure of the retained *** research was undertaken to characterize the slope material,study causal factors of failure and evaluate remedial *** investigation involved conventional field and laboratory testing and geophysical investigation using electrical resistivity technique to evaluate the nature of ***,X-ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy was used to study the slope material at a molecular level to evaluate the existence of swelling *** analysis has shown that excessive seepage of water caused by the poor maintenance of runoff and sewage drains is the causal factor triggered by the seismic event.A remedial strategy involving soil nails,micro piles and improvement of the surface drainage is recommended.

Recent advancements in the Vehicular Ad-hoc Network(VANET)have tremendously addressed road-related ***,Named Data Networking(NDN)in VANET has emerged as a vital technology due to its outstanding ***,the NDN communication framework fails to address two important *** current NDN employs a pull-based content retrieval network,which is inefficient in disseminating crucial content in Vehicular Named Data Networking(VNDN).Additionally,VNDN is vulnerable to illusion attackers due to the administrative-less network of autonomous *** various solutions have been proposed for detecting vehicles’behavior,they inadequately addressed the challenges specific to *** deal with these two issues,we propose a novel push-based crucial content dissemination scheme that extends the scope of VNDN from pullbased content retrieval to a push-based content forwarding *** addition,we exploitMachine Learning(ML)techniques within VNDN to detect the behavior of vehicles and classify them as attackers or *** trained and tested our system on the publicly accessible dataset Vehicular Reference Misbehavior(VeReMi).We employed fiveML classification algorithms and constructed the bestmodel for illusion attack *** results indicate that RandomForest(RF)achieved excellent accuracy in detecting all illusion attack types in VeReMi,with an accuracy rate of 100%for type 1 and type 2,96%for type 4 and type 16,and 95%for type ***,RF can effectively evaluate the behavior of vehicles and identify attacker vehicles with high *** ultimate goal of our research is to improve content exchange and ***,ourML-based attack detection and preventionmechanismensures trustworthy content dissemination and prevents attacker vehicles from sharing misleading information in VNDN.

Interaction of point defects with twin boundaries in Au: A molecular dynamics study

The molecular dynamics simulation technique with many-body and semi-empirical potentials （based on the embedded atom method potentials） has been used to calculate the interactions of point defects with （1 1 1）, （1 1 3）, and （1 2 0） twin boundaries in Au at different temperatures. The interactions of single-, di-, and tri-vacancies （at on- and off-mirror sites） with the twin interfaces at 300 K are calculated. All vacancy clusters are favorable at the on-mirror arrangement near the （1 1 3） twin boundary. Single- and di-vacancies are more favorable at the on-mirror sites near the （1 1 l） twin boundary, while they are favorable at the oft-mirror sites near the （1 2 0） twin boundary. Almost all vacancy clusters energetically prefer to lie in planes closest to the interface rather than away from it, except for tri-vacancies near the （1 2 0） interface at the off-mirror site and for 3.3 and 3.4 vacancy clusters at both sites near the （1 1 1） interface, which are favorable away from the interface. The interaction energy is high at high temperatures.

随着科技的发展,APP的日益普及,司机对获取驾驶行为信息的需求也逐渐增大。驾驶本论文的主要目标是通过将GPS,传感器植入与Wi-Fi直连的智能手机改善交通和车辆的行为。为了进一步扩展论文所提出的怎么改变驾驶观念和改善良好驾驶行为的问题,本文通过扫描车辆信息,提取车辆准确的速度、制动、转弯等紧急情况的数据:即集成统一的多模式功能。因为目前司机往往无法掌握这种准确性,进而忽略了驾驶的行为,从中导致了错误的发生。APP的发展和进步给司机们提供了获得最优信息,避免信息不透明,特别是了解他们的驾驶中的犹豫行为的途径,从而改善了他们的驾驶行为。因为他们会知道他们的驾驶状态,所以他们在路上行驶的顺利、安全,避免出现更多的意外问题.APP的功能具有用户友好性,在测试阶段,它通过放置在两个车辆里的智能手机进行Wi-Fi直连,不使用手机的移动数据。并且APP还与GPS和传感器(如加速度计和陀螺仪)相互连接,当两辆车都在路上时,智能手机APP将通过Wi-Fi Direct建立连接启动,并进行对其他车辆跟踪,其中包括速度。其中紧急情况发生,控制,正常或紧急制动和转弯记录都将自动生成并显示,进而准确表明不好的或危险的驾驶行为。APP出现的主要作用是促使司机获得信息并不断更新,它将带来新的驾驶意义,通过适应各自驾驶车辆的良好的驾驶行为,帮助司机成为一个明智的人,同时也将提升道路安全性。

This study examines herding behavior in the Pakistani Stock Market under different market conditions,focusing on the Ramadan effect and Crisis period by using data from 2004 to *** regression models of Christie and Huang(Financ Analysts J 51:31-37,1995)and Chang et al.,(J Bank Finance 24:1651-1679,2000)are used for herding *** based on daily stock data reveal that there is an absence of herding behavior during rising(up)and falling(down)market as well as during high and low volatility in *** herding behavior is detected during low trading volume *** analysis shows that herding existed during 2005,2006 and 2007,while it is not evident during rest of the ***,herding behavior is not detected during ***,during financial crisis of 2007-08,Pakistani Stock Market exhibits herding behavior due to higher uncertainty and information asymmetry.
