A carbon paste modified sensor based on a novel composite of zinc oxide nanoparticles deposited on reduced graphene oxide(ZnO-rGrO) and Prussian blue(PB) was drop-cast(ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE) for the sensitive estimation of Rutin(Rtn) at pH *** high surface area of ZnO-rGrO and electrocatalytic property of PB promotes the oxidation of Rtn. Field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EdX) techniques were employed to confirm the deposition of ZnO-rGrO and PB on carbon paste electrode(CPE). The ability of ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE in charge transfer at the interface was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The heterogeneous rate constant(ks) and the charge transfer coefficient(α) have been calculated as 6.08 s^(-1) and 0.74 respectively. This sensor showed a wide linear response for Rtn from 7.0×10^(-8)to 7.0×10^(-6) M and 7.0×10^(-6) to 1.0×10^(-4) M with a limit of detection(2.05±0.04)×10^(-8) M(S/N=3). The application of ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE was found in the analysis of Rtn in fruit juice samples using standard addition method. This sensor showed good reproducibility, stability, selectivity and sensitivity.

Current methodologies used for the inference of thin film stress through curvature measurements are strictly restricted to stress and curvature states which are assumed to remain uniform over the entire film/substrate system. By considering a circular thin film/substrate system subject to non-uniform, but axisymmetric misfit strain distributions in the thin film, we derived relations between the film stresses and the misfit strain, and between the plate system＇s curvatures and the misfit strain. These relations feature a “local” part which involves a direct dependence of the stress or curvature components on the misfit strain at the same point, and a “non-local” part which reflects the effect of misfit strain of other points on the location of scrutiny. Most notably, we also derived relations between the polar components of the film stress and those of system curvatures which allow for the experimental inference of such stresses from full-field curvature measurements in the presence of arbitrary radial non-uniformities. These relations also feature a “non-local” dependence on curvatures making a full-field measurement a necessity. Finally, it is shown that the interfacial shear tractions between the film and the substrate are proportional to the radial gradients of the first curvature invariant and can also be inferred experimentally.

The management of insect epidemics in large tracts of forest is difficult given the climatic conditions encountered, the topography of the forested land, the nature of the forest, the types of chemical and/or biological insecticides registered for use, and the technologies available for insecticide application. Since 1952, the province of New Brunswick. Canada, has been heavily involved in attempting to control an epidemic of the eastern spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana. Clemens) that has ravaged the coniferous softwoods of eastern Canada and the United States. Of the available options, the provincial government chose to develop an aerial spraying program, eventually selecting two chemical insecticides (fenitrothion and aminocarb) and one biological control agent (Bacillus thuringiensis). Concerns about possible impacts on human health led to extensive studies of the toxicology of these insecticides, the technology of aerial spraying, the development of less hazardous formulations, and the quantitation of offtarget drift of aerosolized insecticides. These studies culminated in improvements in pesticide application and the establishment of regulations on safety or buffer zones around human habitation for certain types of aircraft applying different formulations of the insecticides. NiTi particles reinforced aluminum （NiTip/Al） composite was prepared via friction stir processing, elimi- nating interfacial reaction and/or elemental diffusion. The NiTip in the composite maintained the intrinsic characteristic of a reversible thermoelastic phase transformation even after heat-treatment. The shape memory characteristic of the NiTip decreased the coefficient of thermal expansion of the Al matrix, and an apparent two-way shape memory effect was observed in the composite. The composite owned a good combination of adjustable damping and thermal physical properties.

This research investigates a capacitive deionization method for salinity reduction in a batch reactor as a new approach for *** of cost and energy compared with conventional desalination methods are the significant advantages of this *** this research,experiments were performed with a pair of graphite bipolar electrodes that were coated with a one-gram activated carbon *** completing preliminary tests,the impacts of four parameters on electrical conductivity reduction,including(1)the initial concentration of feed solution,(2)the duration of the tests,(3)the applied voltage,and(4)the pH of the solution,were *** results show that the maximum efficiency of electrical conductivity reduction in this laboratory-scale reactor is about 55%.Furthermore,the effects of the initial concentration of feed solution are more significant than the other ***,using the capacitive deionization method for water desalination with low and moderate salt concentrations(i.e.,brackish water)is proposed as an affordable *** with conventional desalination methods,capacitive deionization is not only more efficient but also potentially more environmentally friendly.

The finite cell method （FCM） combines the high-order finite element method （FEM） with the fictitious domain approach for the purpose of simple meshing. In the present study, the FCM is used to the Prandtl-Reuss flow theory of plasticity, and the results are compared with the h-version finite element method （h-FEM）. The numerical results show that the FCM is more efficient compared to the h-FEM for elasto-plastic problems, although the mesh does not conform to the boundary. It is also demonstrated that the FCM performs well for elasto-plastic loading and unloading.

Multilayer Cu-Co film has been produced from a single bath by the method of pulse electrodeposition. Its structure and some magnetic properties were analysed by TEM,AES, XRd and VSM. The results indicated that the film was layed structure, consisted of alternating pure copper and copper-cobalt alloy layers. The results have shown the possibility of producing multilayer films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy byelectrodeposition.

Alley cropping of Cassia siamea and maize was studied in semi arid Kenya for soil fertility improvement. Katumani composite maize was planted except in the short rains of 1988 (SR88) when a hybrid variety was sown. Therefore the grain yield per row increased differently in the alley cropped maize (CM). Sole maize (SM) and CM yields were higher in SR88 than in the long rains of 1988 (LR88) by 62% and 38%, while yields from the same treatments in LR89 were only 21% and 45% of those in SR88 These differences in relative maize yields are attributed to differences between the two maize varieties in competition under nutrient stress conditions.

FeSiAl alloys ribbons synthesized by melt-quench were annealed in vacuum at 873 K for 60 rain. The flaky powders were prepared by milling the annealed ribbons for 70 h. After milling, the powders were heat treated at 573 K for 90 rain. The ordering degree of the powders lattice structure was analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRd）. The measurement of specific saturation magnetization was carried out by vibrating samples magnetometer （VSM）. Complex permittivity and complex permeability in the frequency band of 0.5-18 GHz were measured with the vector network analyzer. The ordering degree of the superlattice structure increased from 0.2＇7 to 0.49. Complex permittivity and complex permeability decreased with increasing Si content. After ordering, the specific saturation magnetization decreased from 134.2 to 85.0 ***-1. For use in anti-EMI material, the total contents of Si and Al in FeSiAl alloys should be controlled at a low level.
