In this paper,a reliable algorithm based on an adaptation of the standard differential transform method is presented,which is the multi-step differential transform method(MSDTM).The solutions of non-linear oscillators were obtained by *** comparisons between the MSDTM and the classical fourthorder Runge-Kutta method(RK4)reveal that the proposed technique is a promising tool to solve non-linear oscillators.

Free radicals, which are generated in several biochemical reactions in the body, have been implicated as mediators of many diseases, including cancer, atherosclerosis and heart diseases. Although the endogenous antioxidants can scavenge these free radicals, they are often insufficient to maintain the in vivo redox balance. The antioxidant activity(AOA) was examined by addition of each tested antioxidants [alpha-tocopherol(α-T), beta-tocopherol(β-T), gamma-tocopherol(γ-T), delta-tocopherol(δ-T), butylated hydroxyanisole(BHA), 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol(BHT), and ascorbyle palmitate(AP)] to four types of different vegetable oils(sunflower oil, soybean oil, corn oil and olive oil). Moreover, content changes in fatty acids were then investigated every 3 months during the storage period. The results showed that the AOA was different among the tested antioxidants. The AOA for BHA was the most for different types of oil compared with other antioxidants, whereas the δ-T possessed the lowest AOA.

Wireless sensor networks(WSNs)have gotten a lot of attention as useful tools for gathering *** energy problem has been a fundamental constraint and challenge faced by many WSN applications due to the size and cost constraints of the sensor *** paper proposed a data fusion model based on the back propagation neural network(BPNN)model to address the problem of a large number of invalid or redundant *** three layeredbased BPNNs and a TEEN threshold,the proposed model describes the cluster structure and filters out unnecessary *** the information transmission process,the neural network’s output function is used to deal with a large amount of sensing data,where the feature value of sensing data is extracted and transmitted to the sink *** terms of life cycle,data traffic,and network use,simulation results show that the proposed data fusion model outperforms the traditional TEEN *** a result,the proposed scheme increases the life cycle of the network thereby lowering energy usage and traffic.

The classical minimization of power losses in transmission lines is dominated by artificial intelligence techniques, which do not guarantee global optimum amidst local minima. Revolutionary and evolutionary techniques are encumbered with sophisticated transformations, which weaken the techniques. Power loss minimization is crucial to the efficient design and operation of power transmission lines. Minimization of losses is one way to meet steady grid supply, especially at peak demand. Thus, this paper has presented a gradient technique to obtain optimal variables and values from the power loss model, which efficiently minimizes power losses by modifying the traditional power loss model that combines Ohm and Corona losses. Optimality tests showed that the unmodified model does not support the minimization of power losses on transmission lines as the Hessian matrix portrayed the maximization of power losses. However, the modified model is consistent with the gradient method of optimization, which yielded optimum variables and values from the power loss model developed in this study. The unmodified (modified) models for Bujagali-Kawanda 220 kV and Masaka West-Mbarara North 132 kV transmission lines in Uganda showed maximum power losses of 0.406 (0.391) and 0.452 (0.446) kW/km/phase respectively. These results indicate that the modified model is superior to the unmodified model in minimizing power losses in the transmission lines and should be implemented for the efficient design and operation of power transmission lines within and outside Uganda for the same transmission voltages.

Many organisms are characterized by strikingly contrasting black and white coloration,but the function of such contrasts has been inadequately *** this article,we tested the function of black and white contrasting plumage in white stork Ciconia ciconia *** found greater abundance and diversity of microorganisms on black compared with adjacent white *** addition,nest size was positively correlated with the abundance and diversity of microorganisms on white *** initiation distance(FID),defined as the distance at which adult white storks took flight when approached by a human,was negatively correlated with most measurements of microorganism *** success was generally positively correlated with the abundance and diversity of microorganisms on black *** feather growth rate was positively correlated with some and negatively correlated with other measurements of microbial abundance and ***,chick growth was negatively correlated with the number of microbial species on black feathers and positively with the abundance and diversity of microorganisms on white *** findings are consistent not only with the role of microorganisms in the maintenance of a benign microbial environment which differs between black and white feathers,but also with the hypothesis that several taxa of microorganisms found in black and white plumage are virulent,with negative effects on the fitness of their hosts.

BACKGROUND Supracondylar humerus fractures account for more than 60%of all elbow fractures and about 1/5 of all pediatric ***,these fractures can be associated with risk of complications including neurovascular injuries,malunions and limb *** exists regarding the effect of time of surgical intervention and/or level of surgeon performing the surgery on outcome of these *** To determine whether time of surgical intervention and/or surgeon level influence the outcomes of surgically managed pediatric supracondylar humerus *** We retrospectively studied 155 pediatric patients presenting with a supracondylar humerus fracture in a level 1 trauma center from January 2006 to December *** data extracted included demographic data,fracture characteristics,surgical data,and follow-up *** collected data was analyzed and P values of<0.05 were considered statistically *** Of the cohort,11%of patients had documented post-operative complications,of which the majority occurred in surgeries performed after day time working hours and in fractures requiring open *** the lowest complication rate was found in surgeries performed by pediatric orthopaedic surgeons,this did not reach statistical *** In pediatric patients undergoing surgery for supracondylar fractures,we found a higher complication rate when surgeries were not performed during working *** level and training had no significant effect on the risk of post-operative complications.

Internet Protocol version 6(IPv6)is the latest version of IP that goal to host 3.4×10^(38)unique IP addresses of devices in the ***6 has introduced new features like Neighbour Discovery Protocol(NDP)and Address Auto-configuration ***6 needed several protocols like the Address Auto-configuration Scheme and Internet Control Message Protocol(ICMPv6).IPv6 is vulnerable to numerous attacks like Denial of Service(DoS)and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)which is one of the most dangerous attacks executed through ICMPv6 messages that impose security and financial ***,an Intrusion Detection System(IDS)is a monitoring system of the security of a network that detects suspicious activities and deals with amassive amount of data comprised of repetitive and inappropriate features which affect the detection rate.A feature selection(FS)technique helps to reduce the computation time and complexity by selecting the optimum subset of *** paper proposes a method for detecting DDoS flooding attacks(FA)based on ICMPv6 messages using a Binary Flower PollinationAlgorithm(BFPA-FA).The proposed method(BFPA-FA)employs FS technology with a support vector machine(SVM)to identify the most relevant,influential ***,The ICMPv6-DDoS dataset was used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method through different attack *** results show that the proposed method BFPAFA achieved the best accuracy rate(97.96%)for the ICMPv6 DDoS detection with a reduced number of features(9)to half the total(19)*** proven proposed method BFPA-FAis effective in the ICMPv6 DDoS attacks via IDS.

Microbial fuel cells(M FCs)represent a new approach for treating w aste w ater along w ith electricity *** present study addressed electricity production from domestic w astew ater using a mediator-less double chamber M *** electricity production w as monitored under different operational conditions for both summer and w inter *** of the anodic and cathodic chambers resulted in a maximal current of 0.784 and 0.645 m A w ith the maximal pow er intensity of 209 and 117 m W/m2in pow er duration of 24 h for the summer and w inter samples,*** electron microscopy show ed that the bacterial biofilm formation on the anode w as denser for the summer sample than that w hen the w inter sample w as used,so w as the total bacterial ***,samples taken during summer w ere considered better in electricity production and w aste w ater treatment than those taken during w inter basically because of the high microbial load during the hot *** parallel,there w as a decrease in both biological oxygen demand(BOD5)and chemical oxygen demand(COD)values which reached 71.8%and 72.85%,respectively at the end of the operation process for the summer sample,w hile there w as no evident decrease for the w inter *** the operating conditions not only increased the potential of using domestic w aste w ater in microbial fuel cells to produce electricity,but also improved the quality of the domestic w aste w ater.

Drought is the major detrimental environmental factor for wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)*** exploration of genetic patterns underlying drought tolerance is of great *** we report the gene actions controlling the phenological traits using the line×tester model studying 27 crosses and 12 parents under normal irrigation and drought *** results interpreted via multiple analysis(mean performance,correlations,principal component,genetic analysis,heterotic and heterobeltiotic potential)disclosed highly significant differences among *** phenological waxiness traits(glume,boom,and sheath)were strongly *** leaf area exhibits a positive association with peduncle and spike length under *** growing degree days(heat-units)greatly influence spikelets and grains per spike,however,the grain yield/plant was significantly reduced(17.44 g to 13.25 g)under *** principal components based on eigenvalue indicated significant PCs(first-seven)accounted for 79.9%and 73.9%of total variability under normal irrigation and drought,*** investigated yield traits showed complex genetic *** genetic advance confronted a moderate to high heritability for spikelets/spike and grain yield/*** traits conditioned by dominant genetic effects in normal irrigation were inversely controlled by additive genetic effects under drought and vice *** magnitude of dominance effects for phenological and yield traits,i.e.,leaf twist,auricle hairiness,grain yield/plant,spikelets,and grains/spike suggests that selection by the pedigree method is appropriate for improving these traits under normal irrigation conditions and could serve as an indirect selection index for improving yield-oriented traits in wheat populations for drought ***,the phenotypic selection could be more than effective for traits conditioned by additive genetic effects under *** suggest five significant cross combinations base
