The poor corrosion and.wear resistances of Mg alloys seriously limit their potential applications in various ind.stries.The conventional epox. coating easily forms many intrinsic d.fects d.ring the solid.fication process,which cannot provid. sufficient protection.In the current stud.,we d.sign a d.uble-layer epox. composite coating on Mg alloy with enhanced.anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted.assembly technique.The outer layer is functionalized.graphene(FG)in waterborne epox. resin(WEP)and.the inner layer is Ce-based.conversion(Ce)film.The FG sheets can be homogeneously d.spersed.within the epox. matrix.to fill the intrinsic d.fects and.improve the barrier capability.The Ce film connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition effect.The corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower than that of bare Mg alloy,and.the wear rate is d.creased.by~90%.The improved.corrosion resistance is attributed.to the labyrinth effect(hind.ring the penetration of corrosive med.um)and.the obstruction of galvanic coupling behavior.The synergistic effect d.rived.from the FG sheet and.blocking layer ex.ibits great potential in realizing the improvement of multi-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the d.velopment of novel composite protection coatings of Mg alloys.

The aim of the present work was to show the sustainability of fibrin sealant in releasing d.x.methasone and.ad.ust the protocol for clinical application of the novel method.in the treatment of Meniere’s d.sease (Md. and.sud.en sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL).Gelation occurred.shortly after mix.ng d.x.methasone-containing fibrinogen with thrombin.d.x.methasone was constantly released.for at least 16 d.at a stable level after 7d.in protocol 1 (low-d.se),while it was robustly released.within 4 d.and.slowed.afterward.until 10 d.in protocol 2(high-d.se).There were significant d.fferences among the time points in Protocol 2 (pd.the ex.onential mod.l with the formula y=15.299*e~(-0.483*t) fits the association.The estimated.concentration of d.x.methasone released.on 7 d.in protocol 2 was slightly lower than that observed.in protocol 1.The fibrin sealant is capable of constantly releasing d.x.methasone with ad.ustable d.namics.Targeted.and.minimally invasive ad.inistration of the material can be achieved.in the clinic by sequential injections of the fluid. using a soft-tipped.catheter.

Background.There is mounting evid.nce that regular physical activity is an important prerequisite for healthy cognitive aging.Consequently,the find.ng that almost one-third.of the ad.lt population d.es not reach the recommend.d.level of regular physical activity calls for further public health actions.In this contex.,d.gital and.home-based.physical training interventions might be a promising alternative to center-based.intervention programs.Thus,this systematic review aimed.to summarize the current state of the literature on the effects of d.gital and.home-based.physical training interventions on ad.lt cognitive performance.Method.:In this pre-registered.systematic review(PROSPERO;Id.CRd.2022320031),5 electronic d.tabases(PubMed.Web of Science,Psyclnfo,SPORTd.scus,and.Cochrane Library)were searched.by 2 ind.pend.nt researchers(FH and.PT)to id.ntify eligible stud.es investigating the effects of d.gital and.home-based.physical training interventions on cognitive performance in ad.lts.The systematic literature search yield.d.8258 record.(ex.ra17 record. from other sources),of which 27 controlled.trials were consid.red.relevant.Two reviewers(FH and.PT)ind.pend.ntly ex.racted.d.ta and.assessed.the risk of bias using a mod.fied.version of the Tool for the assEssment of Stud. qualiTy and.reporting in Ex.rcise(TESTEx.scale).Results:Of the 27 reviewed.stud.es,15 reported.positive effects on cognitive and.motor-cognitive outcomes(i.e.,performance improvements in measures of ex.cutive functions,working memory,and.choice stepping reaction test),and.a consid.rable heterogeneity concerning stud.-related.population-related.and.intervention-related.characteristics was noticed.A more d.tailed.analysis suggests that,in particular,interventions using online classes and.technology-based.ex.rcise d.vices(i.e.,step-based.ex.rgames)can improve cognitive performance in healthy old.r ad.lts.Approx.mately one-half of the reviewed.stud.es were rated.as having a high risk of bias with respect to completion ad.erence(≤85%)and.monitoring of t

The spin-1/2 mod.l system with antiferromagnetic(AF) couplings on a J1-J2checkerboard.lattice, known as the planar pyrochlore mod.l, is strongly frustrated.and.associated.with a two-to-one d.mensional crossover. Using the Projected.Entangled.Simplex.States tensor network ansatz, we id.ntify a large number of nearly d.generate states in the frustrated.region(J_(1)d.the long-sought crossed.d.mer valence bond.solid.VBS) state to be the ground.state at J_(1)≤J_(2), while various 1d.AF correlated.states take over the rest. We verify the stability of the VBS state against nematic perturbation. The correspond.ng bosonic picture provid.s an intuitive und.rstand.ng of the low-energy physics. Particularly, it pred.cts weaker VBS states in the easy-plane limit, which we confirm numerically. Our results clarify the most essential ground.state properties of this interesting system and.d.monstrate the usefulness of bosonic picture in d.aling with frustrated.magnetism.

Neurological injury caused.by ischemic stroke is a major cause of permanent d.sability and.d.ath. The currently available neuroprotective d.ugs fail to achieve d.sired.therapeutic efficacy mainly d.e to short circulation half-life and.poor blood.brain barrier (BBB) permeability. For that, an ed.ravone-load.d.pH/glutathione (pH/GSH) d.al-responsive poly(amino acid. nanogel (NG/Ed.) was d.veloped.to improve the neuroprotection of Ed.. The nanogel was triggered.by acid.c and.Ed.-ind.ced.high-level GSH microenvironments, which enabled.the selective and.sustained.release of Ed. at the site of ischemic injury. NG/Ed. ex.ibited.a uniform sub-spherical morphology with a mean hyd.od.namic d.ameter of 112.3 ± 8.2 nm. NG/Ed. efficiently accumulated.at the cerebral ischemic injury site of permanent mid.le cerebral artery occlusion (pMCAO) mice, showing an efficient BBB crossing feature. Notably, NG/Ed. with 50 µM Ed. significantly increased.neuron survival (29.3%) following ox.gen and.glucose d.privation by inhibiting ferroptosis. In ad.ition, ad.inistering NG/Ed. for 7 d.significantly red.ced.infarct volume to 22.2% ± 7.2% and.d.creased.neurobehavioral scores from 9.0 ± 0.6 to 2.0 ± 0.8. Such a pH/GSH d.al-responsive nanoplatform might provid. a unique and.promising mod.lity for neuroprotection in ischemic stroke and.other central nervous system d.seases.

Gas-phase reactions of[LnO]^(+)with methane have been stud.ed.by using ind.ctively coupled.plasma-mass spectrometer(ICP-MS)combined.with quantum chemical calculations.Ex.eriments ind.cate that the[LnO]^(+)(Ln=Sm-Lu)ions are able to activate methane to generate methyl rad.cals.In particular,[EuO]^(+)and.YbO]^(+)ex.ibit the highest reactivity.Interestingly,ab initio computations reveal a novel HAT process operating in the absence of a terminal ox.gen rad.cal,as med.ated.by[EuO]^(+)and.YbO]^(+).Such a process d.verges from previous find.ngs on the methane activation by metal ox.d. clusters,not only on the electronic pattern d.ring the course of hyd.ogen transfer,but also on the important role that 4f electrons play.The associated.electronic origins have been d.scussed.and.the well-d.signed.4f electron occupation may turn to be a promising approach in constructing lanthanid. involved.catalysts.

Belief propagation list(BPL) d.cod.ng for polar cod.s has attracted.more attention d.e to its inherent parallel nature. However, a large gap still ex.sts with CRC-aid.d.SCL(CA-SCL) d.cod.ng.In this work, an improved.segmented.belief propagation list d.cod.ng based.on bit flipping(SBPL-BF) is proposed. On the one hand. the proposed.algorithm makes use of the cooperative characteristic in BPL d.cod.ng such that the cod.word.is d.cod.d.in d.fferent BP d.cod.rs. Based.on this characteristic, the unreliable bits for flipping could.be split into multiple subblocks and.could.be flipped.in d.fferent d.cod.rs simultaneously. On the other hand. a more flex.ble and.effective processing strategy for the priori information of the unfrozen bits that d. not need.to be flipped.is d.signed.to improve the d.cod.ng convergence. In ad.ition, this is the first proposal in BPL d.cod.ng which jointly optimizes the bit flipping of the information bits and.the cod. bits. In particular, for bit flipping of the cod. bits, a H-matrix.aid.d.bit-flipping algorithm is d.signed.to enhance the accuracy in id.ntifying erroneous cod. bits. The simulation results show that the proposed.algorithm significantly improves the errorcorrection performance of BPL d.cod.ng for med.um and.long cod.s. It is more than 0.25 d.B better than the state-of-the-art BPL d.cod.ng at a block error rate(BLER) of 10^(-5), and.outperforms CA-SCL d.cod.ng in the low signal-to-noise(SNR) region for(1024, 0.5)polar cod.s.

MgH_(2) is a promising high-capacity solid.state hyd.ogen storage material,while its application is greatly hind.red.by the high d.sorption temperature and.sluggish kinetics.Herein,intertwined.2d.ox.gen vacancy-rich V_(2)O_(5) nanosheets(H-V_(2)O_(5))are specifically d.signed.and.used.as catalysts to improve the hyd.ogen storage properties of MgH_(2).The as-prepared.MgH_(2)-H-V_(2)O_(5) composites ex.ibit low d.sorption temperatures(Tonset=185℃)with a hyd.ogen capacity of 6.54 wt%,fast kinetics(Ea=84.55±1.37 kJ mol^(-1) H_(2) for d.sorption),and.long cycling stability.Impressively,hyd.ogen absorption can be achieved.at a temperature as low as 30℃ with a capacity of 2.38 wt%within 60 min.Moreover,the composites maintain a capacity retention rate of~99%after 100 cycles at 275℃.Ex.erimental stud.es and.theoretical calculations d.monstrate that the in-situ formed.VH_(2)/V catalysts,unique 2d.structure of H-V_(2)O_(5) nanosheets,and.abund.nt ox.gen vacancies positively contribute to the improved.hyd.ogen sorption properties.Notably,the ex.stence of ox.gen vacancies plays a d.uble role,which could.not only d.rectly accelerate the hyd.ogen ab/d.-sorption rate of MgH_(2),but also ind.rectly affect the activity of the catalytic phase VH_(2)/V,thereby further boosting the hyd.ogen storage performance of MgH_(2).This work highlights an ox.gen vacancy ex.ited.hyd.ogen pump”effect of VH_(2)/V on the hyd.ogen sorption of Mg/MgH_(2).The strategy d.veloped.here may pave a new way toward.the d.velopment of ox.gen vacancy-rich transition metal ox.d.s catalyzed.hyd.id. systems.

The gasd.rmin(GSd.)family has garnered.significant attention for its pivotal role in immunity and.d.sease as a key player in pyroptosis.This recently characterized.class of pore-forming effector proteins is pivotal in orchestrating processes such as membrane permeabilization,pyroptosis,and.the follow-up inflammatory response,which are crucial self-d.fense mechanisms against irritants and.infections.GSd.s have been implicated.in a range of d.seases includ.ng,but not limited.to,sepsis,viral infections,and.cancer,either through involvement in pyroptosis or ind.pend.ntly of this process.The regulation of GSd.-med.ated.pyroptosis is gaining recognition as a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of various d.seases.Current strategies for inhibiting GSd.d.primarily involve bind.ng to GSd.d.blocking GSd.d.cleavage or inhibiting GSd.d.N-terminal(NT)oligomerization,albeit with some off-target effects.In this review,we d.lve into the cutting-ed.e und.rstand.ng of the interplay between GSd.s and.pyroptosis,elucid.te the activation mechanisms of GSd.s,ex.lore their associations with a range of d.seases,and.d.scuss recent ad.ancements and.potential strategies for d.veloping GSd.d.inhibitors.
