In situ synthesis of potassium tungstophosphate supported on BEA zeolite and perspective application for pesticide removal

Potassium tungstophosphate is supported on BEA zeolite by in situ synthesis for glyphosate removal. Spectroscopic measurements identified hydrogen bonding as a primal interaction of potassium salt and BEA zeolite. Composites are evaluated for glyphosate herbicide removal and adsorption process is analyzed using two isotherm models. Obtained adsorption capacities for all prepared composites lay between 45.2 and 92.2 mg of glyphosate per gram of investigated composite. Suspension acidity revealed that glyphosate is adsorbed mainly in the zwitter-ion form at the composite surface while the amount of potassium salt in the composites is crucial for the adsorption application. Exceptional adsorption behavior is postulated to come from a high degree of homogeneity among surface active sites which is confirmed by different experimental methods. Temperature programmed desorption of glyphosate coupled with mass spectrometer detected one broad, high-temperature peak which represents overlapped desorption processes from active sights of similar *** of potassium tungstophosphate affects active sites present in BEA zeolite for glyphosate desorption and significantly increases the amount of adsorbed pesticide in comparison to BEA zeolite. Supporting of potassium tungstophosphate on BEA zeolite via in situ synthesis procedure enables the formation of highly efficient adsorbents and revealed their perspective environmental application.

Management of influence of using of fertilizers on soil quality:The case of nitrate pollutants

Contamination of soil and water contributes to the reduction of economic income, and also has an impact on economic development and management organizations and services. In order toavoid excessive use of nitrate fertilizers we maderesearch through systematic laboratory study of applying the basic chemical and physical analyzes of selected soil samples. In this research, we apply the method that was studied movement of nitrate solution in two soil types (sand and loess), since the impact of fertilizers on the environment depends on the soil types and its category. As the result, we got accurate functional dependences of sufficiently step height of soil and the concentration of nitrate ions and those can find a specific application in agriculture for these two types of soil, and may be sufficiently adequate substitution for the field investigations. The aim of the study was to investigate the most important negative environmental and economic consequences of the using of artificial fertilizers and to show that soil tests in the laboratory can be an adequate substitute for a field test because of economic savings. The comparative analysis of experimental and numerical results for nitrates leaching in different soil types were concluded.

Rock Mass Quality Rating Based on the Multi-Criteria Grey Metric Space

Assessment of rock mass quality significantly impacts the design and construction of underground and open-pit mines from the point of stability and *** study develops the novel Gromov-Hausdorff distance for rock quality(GHDQR)methodology for rock mass quality rating based on multi-criteria grey metric *** usually presents the quality of surrounding rock by classes(metric spaces)with specified properties and adequate interval-grey *** the distance between surrounding rock sample characteristics and existing classes represents the core of this *** Gromov-Hausdorff distance is an especially useful discriminant function,i.e.,a classifier to calculate these distances,and assess the quality of the surrounding *** efficiency of the developed methodology is analyzed using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE)*** existing methods,such as the Gaussian cloud method,Discriminant method,Mutation series method,Artificial neural network(ANN),Support vector machine(SVM),Grey wolf optimizer and Support vector classification method(GWO-SVC)and Rock mass rating method(RMR)are used for comparison with the proposed GHDQR *** share of the highly accurate category of 85.71%clearly indicates compliance with actual values obtained by the compared *** results of comparisons showed that the model enables objective,efficient,and reliable assessment of rock mass quality.

Morphological and ecological divergence in two populations of European glass lizard,Pseudopus apodus(Squamata:Anguidae)

The European glass lizard,Pseudopus apodus(Pallas,1775),is a large,legless lizard with wide distribution across south-eastern Europe and eastern and central *** date,morphological diversification among populations on a geographically small scale has not yet been reported in this ***,we investigated the morphological variations and corresponding differences in habitat utilization between two populations of *** inhabiting the same biogeographical zone within a relatively close geographic *** hypothesized that minor differences in habitat could induce a significant level of morphological differentiation,thus indicating morphological plasticity in this species on a small geographical *** sampled 164 individuals(92 from the Croatian mainland and 72 from the island of Cres).Results showed that *** indeed exhibited morphological differences between populations in the same biogeographical zone within a relatively close geographic area,with the Cres Island individuals being generally larger than the individuals from the *** ecological characteristics were similar in both populations(e.g.,soil temperature,distance to hiding place),whereas others were distinct(e.g.,air temperature and humidity).In addition,vegetation cover differed between the two sites,with more vegetation present on the mainland than on the ***,the Cres Island population showed clear sexual dimorphism,which was absent in the mainland population.

Basal cell carcinoma stem cells exhibit osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation potential

Specific cell subpopulations identified as cancer stem cells(CSCs)can be found in basal cell carcinoma(BCC).Generally,CSCs have a marked trans-differentiation potential that could potentially be used in differentiation ***,there are no studies regarding BCC CSCs *** aim of the study was to analyze the characteristic of CSCs of BCC with emphasis on their differentiation potential upon specific *** staining and cell morphology were used for differentiation confirmation,along with the expression analysis of osteogenic(ALP,BSP,Runx2,OCN,BMP2),chondrogenic(COL1 and COL2A1),adipogenic(PPAR-γ)and neurogenic(Nestin and MAP2)*** CSCs differentiated into osteogenic and chondrogenic lineages,as judged by staining and high expression of specific markers(from 2-to 92-fold higher upon induction).Concomitantly with differentiation,the levels of cancer stem cell markers decreased in the ***-differentiation and neuro-differentiation were *** conclusion,BCC CSCs exhibit the capacity to trans-differentiate,a characteristic that may potentially be useful in the development of new strategies for the treatment of aggressive BCCs.
