Metal-ion batteries(MIBs),including alkali metal-ion(Li^(+),Na^(+),and K^(3)),multi-valent metal-ion(Zn^(2+),Mg^(2+),and Al^(3+)),metal-air,and metal-sulfur batteries,play an indispensable role in electrochemical energy ***,the performance of MIBs is significantly influenced by numerous variables,resulting in multi-dimensional and long-term challenges in the field of battery research and performance *** learning(ML),with its capability to solve intricate tasks and perform robust data processing,is now catalyzing a revolutionary transformation in the development of MIB materials and *** this review,we summarize the utilization of ML algorithms that have expedited research on MIBs over the past five *** present an extensive overview of existing algorithms,elucidating their details,advantages,and limitations in various applications,which encompass electrode screening,material property prediction,electrolyte formulation design,electrode material characterization,manufacturing parameter optimization,and real-time battery status ***,we propose potential solutions and future directions for the application of ML in advancing MIB development.

The expansion of a thick-walled hollow cylinder in soil is of non-self-similar nature that the stress/deformation paths are not the same for different soil material *** a result,this problem cannot be solved by the common self-similar-based similarity *** paper proposes a novel,exact solution for rigorous drained expansion analysis of a hollow cylinder of critical state *** stress-dependent elastic moduli of soils,new analytical stress and displacement solutions for the nonself-similar problem are developed taking the small strain assumption in the elastic *** the plastic zone,the cavity expansion response is formulated into a set of first-order partial differential equations(PDEs)with the combination use of Eulerian and Lagrangian descriptions,and a novel solution algorithm is developed to efficiently solve this complex boundary value *** solution is presented in a general form and thus can be useful for a wide range of *** the new solution,the non-self-similar nature induced by the finite outer boundary is clearly demonstrated and highlighted,which is found to be greatly different to the behaviour of cavity expansion in infinite soil *** present solution may serve as a benchmark for verifying the performance of advanced numerical techniques with critical state soil models and be used to capture the finite boundary effect for pressuremeter tests in small-sized calibration chambers.

Effective urban land-use re-planning and the strategic arrangement of drainage pipe networks can significantly enhance urban flood defense *** at reducing the potential risks of urban flooding,this paper presents a straightforward and efficient approach to an urban distributed runoff model(UDRM).The model is developed to quantify the discharge and water depth within urban drainage pipe networks under varying rainfall intensities and land-use *** Nash efficiency coefficient of UDRM exceeds 0.9,which indicates its high computational efficiency and potential benefit in predicting urban *** prediction of drainage conditions under both current and re-planned land-use types is achieved by adopting different flood recurrence *** findings reveal that the re-planned land-use strategies could effectively diminish flood risk upstream of the drainage pipe network across 20-year and 50-year flood recurrence ***,in the case of extreme rainfall events(a 100-year flood recurrence),the re-planned land-use approach fell short of fulfilling the requirements necessary for flood disaster *** these instances,the adoption of larger-diameter drainage pipes becomes an essential requisite to satisfy drainage ***,the proposed UDRM effectively combines land-use information with pipeline data to give practical suggestions for pipeline modification and land-use optimization to combat urban ***,this methodology warrants further promotion in the field of urban re-planning.

Despite the promising potential of transition metal oxides(TMOs)as capacitive deionization(CDI)electrodes,the actual capacity of TMOs electrodes for sodium storage is significantly lower than the theoretical capacity,posing a major ***,we prepared the kinetically favorable Zn_(x)Ni_(1−x)O electrode in situ growth on carbon felt(Zn_(x)Ni_(1−x)O@CF)through constraining the rate of OH^(−)generation in the hydrothermal ***_(x)Ni_(1−x)O@CF exhibited a high-density hierarchical nanosheet structure with three-dimensional open pores,benefitting the ion transport/electron *** tuning the moderate amount of redox-inert Zn-doping can enhance surface electroactive sites,actual activity of redox-active Ni species,and lower adsorption energy,promoting the adsorption kinetic and thermodynamic of the Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@*** from the kinetic-thermodynamic facilitation mechanism,Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@CF achieved ultrahigh desalination capacity(128.9 mgNaCl g^(-1)),ultra-low energy consumption(0.164 kW h kgNaCl^(-1)),high salt removal rate(1.21 mgNaCl g^(-1) min^(-1)),and good *** thermodynamic facilitation and Na^(+)intercalation mechanism of Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@CF are identified by the density functional theory calculations and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring,*** research provides new insights into controlling electrochemically favorable morphology and demonstrates that Zn-doping,which is redox-inert,is essential for enhancing the electrochemical performance of CDI electrodes.

Low carbon alcohol fuels electrolysis under ambient conditions is promising for green hydrogen generation instead of the traditional alcohol fuels steam reforming technique,and highly efficient bifunctional catalysts for membrane electrode fabrication are required to drive the electrolysis ***,the efficient catalytic promotion effect of a novel catalyst promoter,CoTe,on Pt is demonstrated for low carbon alcohol fuels of methanol and ethanol electrolysis for hydrogen *** and density functional theory calculation results indicate that the optimized electronic structure of Pt–CoTe/C resulting from the synergetic effect between Pt and CoTe further regulates the adsorption energies of CO and H*that enhances the catalytic ability for methanol and ethanol ***,the good water activation ability of CoTe and the strong electronic effect of Pt and CoTe increased the tolerance ability to the poisoning species as demonstrated by the CO-stripping *** high catalytic kinetics and stability,as well as the promotion effect,were also carefully ***,71.9%and 75.5%of the initial peak current density was maintained after 1000 CV cycles in acid electrolyte for methanol and ethanol oxidation;and a low overpotential of 30 and 35 mV was required to drive the hydrogen evolution reaction in methanol and ethanol solution at the current density of 10 mA cm^(-2).In the two-electrode system for alcohol fuels electrolysis,using the optimal Pt–CoTe/C catalyst as bi-functional catalysts,the cell potential of 0.66 V(0.67 V)was required to achieve 10 mA cm^(-2) for methanol(ethanol)electrolysis,much smaller than that of water electrolysis(1.76 V).The current study offers a novel platform for hydrogen generation via low carbon alcohol fuel electrolysis,and the result is helpful to the catalysis mechanism understanding of Pt assisted by the novel promoter.

Deep learning significantly improves the accuracy of remote sensing image scene classification,benefiting from the large-scale ***,annotating the remote sensing images is time-consuming and even tough for *** neural networks trained using a few labeled samples usually generalize less to new unseen *** this paper,we propose a semi-supervised approach for remote sensing image scene classification based on the prototype-based consistency,by exploring massive unlabeled *** this end,we,first,propose a feature enhancement module to extract discriminative *** is achieved by focusing the model on the foreground ***,the prototype-based classifier is introduced to the framework,which is used to acquire consistent feature *** conduct a series of experiments on NWPU-RESISC45 and Aerial Image Dataset(AID).Our method improves the State-Of-The-Art(SOTA)method on NWPU-RESISC45 from 92.03%to 93.08%and on AID from 94.25%to 95.24%in terms of accuracy.

Electric Pulse Processing(EPP)treatment was innovatively introduced to optimize the strength and ductility of the CSAMed Cu *** results show that EPP is an efficient and fast post-treatment to improve the strength and ductility(within tens of seconds).The larger the pulse current and number of pulses,the better the mechanical ***,this research found that when the heat input determined by pulse current and number of pulses exceeds a certain threshold(pulse current intensity is 2000 A,number of pulses is 10),increasing the number of repeat time could also effectively improve the mechanical properties.A tensile strength of 210 MPa and a ductility of 14.0%could be obtained with reasonable EPP parameters(pulse current intensity is 2000 A,number of pulses is 10,and repeat number is 2),which is similar to those of conventional annealing(e.g.,tensile strength is 272 MPa,elongation is 28.3%).The microstructure evolution analysis shows that EPP can effectively improve the bonding quality between the deposited particles by recrystallization,promote grain growth and the formation of twins,which is the main reason for the improvement of mechanical properties.

Revealing Al-O/Al-F reaction dynamic effects on the combustion of aluminum nanoparticles in oxygen/fluorine containing environments:A reactive molecular dynamics study meshing together experimental validation

Improving the energy conversion efficiency in metallic fuel(e.g.,Al)combustion is always desirable but challenging,which often involves redox reactions of aluminum(Al)with various mixed oxidizing *** instance,Al-O reaction is the most common pathway to release limited energy while Al-F reaction has received much attentions to enhance Al combustion ***,microscopic understanding of the Al-O/Al-F reaction dynamics remains unsolved,which is fundamentally necessary to further improve Al combustion *** this work,for the first time,Al-O/Al-F reaction dynamic effects on the combustion of aluminum nanoparticles(n-Al)in oxygen/fluorine containing environments have been revealed via reactive molecular dynamics(RMD)simulations meshing together combustion *** RMD simulation systems of Al core/O_(2)/HF,n-Al/O_(2)/HF,and n-Al/O_(2)/CF4 with oxygen percentage ranging from 0%to 100%have been *** n-Al combustion in mixed O_(2)/CF_4 environments have been conducted by constant volume combustion *** results show that Al-O reaction exhibits kinetic benefits while Al-F reaction owns thermodynamic benefits for n-Al *** n-Al/O_(2)/HF,Al-O reaction gives faster energy release rate than Al-F reaction(1.1 times).The optimal energy release efficiency can be achieved with suitable oxygen percentage of 10%and 50%for n-Al/O_(2)/HF and n-Al/O_(2)/CF_4,*** combustion experiments,90%of oxygen percentage can optimally enhance the peak pressure,pressurization rate and combustion ***,Al-O reaction prefers to occur on the surface regions while Al-F reaction prefers to proceed in the interior regions of n-Al,confirming the kinetic/thermodynamic benefits of Al-O/Al-F *** synergistic effect of Al-O/Al-F reaction for greatly enhancing n-Al combustion efficiency is demonstrated at atomicscale,which is beneficial for optimizing the combustion performance of metallic fuel.

In this paper,a stiffening design imitating the bamboo node is proposed for weight reduction of the long composite pipe beam subjected to bending *** distribution of bamboo nodes can efficiently suppress the ovalization of the section,thus significantly improving the bending resistance of the *** on this principle,ring stiffeners are proposed to be fixed to the pipe beam,making the long beam equivalent to the combination of a series of short pipes that suffered less section ovalization.A database of the optimal laminate orientations for different normalized lengths is obtained through optimizations,where the discreteness of the ply count is *** on this database,weight optimizations are conducted,and the optimal designs of beams with and without stiffeners are obtained and *** comparison results show that the proposed bamboo-like stiffened beam not only regains a near-linear load–displacement relationship,but also reduces the weight by up to 16%under the same buckling *** addition,it is found that for the pipe beams with radius-to-thickness ratios of more than 18,increasing the radius leads to a decrease in elastic buckling resistance when the weight remains a constant,which is opposite to the design for strength and *** model and database developed in this paper can provide a reference for weight reduction design and weight estimation for composite pipe beams.
