Organic lasers that emit light in the deep-red and near-infrared(NIR)region are of essential importance in laser communication,night vision,bioimaging,and information-secured displays but are still challenging because of the lack of proper gain ***,a new molecular design strategy that operates by merging two excited-state intramolecular proton transfer-active molecules into one excited-state double proton transfer(ESDPT)-active molecule was *** on this new strategy,three new materials were designed and synthesized with two groups of intramolecular resonance-assisted hydrogen bonds,in which the ESDPT process was proven to proceed smoothly based on theoretical calculations and experimental results of steady-state and transient *** from the effective six-level system constructed by the ESDPT process,all newly designed materials showed low threshold laser emissions at approximately 720 nm when doped in PS microspheres,which in turn proved the existence of the second proton transfer *** importantly,our well-developed NIR organic lasers showed high laser stability,which can maintain high laser intensity after 12000 pulse lasing,which is essential in practical *** work provides a simple and effective method for the development of NIR organic gain materials and demonstrates the ESDPT mechanism for NIR lasing.

Hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3))is known to undergo conversion from weak ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic as the temperature decreases below the Morin temperature(TM=250 K)due to spin moment rotation occurring during the Morin transition(MT).Herein,we endowed hematite with mesostructured chirality to maintain weak ferromagnetism without *** mesostructured hematite(CMH)nanoparticles were prepared by a hydrothermal method with glutamic acid(Glu)as the symmetry-breaking *** triangular bipyramidal CMH nanoparticles were composed of helically cleaved nanoflakes with twisted crystal ***-cooled(FC)magnetization measurements showed that the magnetic moments of CMH were stabilized without MT within the temperature range of 10–300 *** loop measurements confirmed the weak ferromagnetism of *** enhanced Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction(DMI)was speculated to be responsible for the temperature-independent weak ferromagnetism,in which the spin configuration would be confined with canted antiferromagnetic coupling due to the mesostructured chirality of CMH.

Spin chiral anisotropy(SChA)refers to the occurrence of different spin polarization in antipodal chiral ***,we report the SChA in diamagnetic chiral mesostructured In2O3 films(CMIFs)with manifestation of chirality-dependent magnetic circular dichroism(MCD)*** were grown on fluorine-doped tin dioxide conductive glass(FTO)substrates,which were synthesized via a hydrothermal route,with malic acid used as the symmetry-breaking *** levels of chirality have been identified in CMIFs:primary nanoflakes with atomically twisted crystal lattices and secondary helical stacking of the *** exhibit chirality-dependent asymmetric MCD signals due to the different interactions of chirality-induced effective magnetic field and external magnetic field,which distinguish from the commonly observed external magnetic fielddependent symmetric MCD *** findings provide insights into spin manipulation of spin-paired diamagnets.

Global trends in diabetic eye disease research from 2012 to 2021

Diabetic eye disease refers to a group of eye complications that occur in diabetic patients and include diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, diabetic cataracts, and diabetic glaucoma. However, the global epidemiology of these conditions has not been well characterized. In this study, we collected information on diabetic eye disease-related research grants from seven representative countries––the United States, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and France––by searching for all global diabetic eye disease journal articles in the Web of Science and Pub Med databases, all global registered clinical trials in the Clinical Trials database, and new drugs approved by the United States, China, Japan, and EU agencies from 2012 to 2021. During this time period, diabetic retinopathy accounted for the vast majority(89.53%) of the 2288 government research grants that were funded to investigate diabetic eye disease, followed by diabetic macular edema(9.27%). The United States granted the most research funding for diabetic eye disease out of the seven countries assessed. The research objectives of grants focusing on diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema differed by country. Additionally, the United States was dominant in terms of research output, publishing 17.53% of global papers about diabetic eye disease and receiving 22.58% of total citations. The United States and the United Kingdom led international collaborations in research into diabetic eye disease. Of the 415 clinical trials that we identified, diabetic macular edema was the major disease that was targeted for drug development(58.19%). Approximately half of the trials(49.13%) pertained to angiogenesis. However, few drugs were approved for ophthalmic(40 out of 1830;2.19%) and diabetic eye disease(3 out of 1830;0.02%) applications. The synthesis of mesoporous zeolite-anchored atomically dispersed metal catalysts(ADCs)is a considerable challenge in chemistry and materials *** we report the synthesis of atomically dispersed cationic nickel-confined mesoporous ZSM-48(ANMZ-48)by in situ hydrothermal reaction employing a designed tri-functional metal complex template,by which the triquaternary ammonium groups in the hydrophilic region direct the formation of ZSM-48 zeolite;the aromatic groups in the hydrophobic tail generate the mesopores through π-π stacking;and the complexes formed by nickel ions coordinated with terpyridyl groups generate atomically dispersed Ni2+confined in zeolite frameworks due to the strong sintering resistance generated by the strong coordination *** ANMZ-48 is consisting of stacking of sheet-like ZSM-48 domains connected by multiply crystal twinning sharing the common(011)plane,generating abundant of imbedded mesopores with the uniform thickness of~2.4 nm and with the width of 10-50 *** excellent catalytic activity and stability of ANMZ-48 were also reflected in the dry reforming of methane(DRM)reaction.

Diarrhea has become the leading cause of illness and death among infants and young children in developing ***,patients with diarrhea showed damaged intestinal epithelial villi,usually accompanied by lactase *** this study,we evaluated the therapeutic effects of lactose-free milk powder on rats and children with ***-associated diarrhea(AAD)model was established by gavage with antibiotic mixture in SD rats,followed by administration of milk powder containing lactose or *** results showed that lactose-free milk powder ameliorated A AD-related diarrhea symptoms,and accelerated the recovery from *** 16S sequencing results indicated lactose-free milk powder contributed to increase theα-andβ-diversity of intestinal flora,and restore the intestinal microbiota *** conclusion,our data demonstrate that lactose-free milk powder could alleviate diarrhea by restoring gut microbiota and intestinal barrier function.
