As a direct combination of surgical diathermy and MS analysis of the electrosurgical aerosol, rapid evaporative ionization mass spectrometry(REIMS) is a novel ambient ionization method. Surgical REIMS(or iknife) has been demonstrated to provide real-time tissue identification during surgical interventions with a strong potential for margin control in oncological surgery and applied for food chemistry research already.[1-3] One of the remaining problems for the surgical REIMS is the construction of histologically annotated spectral databases, which are essential for pattern recognition-driven identification. Due to the destructive nature of the electrosurgical REIMS system, a tumor specimen gives limited data points and the histological identification of already evaporated cells is not straightforward. As an alternative, a infrared CO2 laser-based system was devised, which is capable of MS imaging and ex-vivo analysis of biological tissues. The setup is described, and optimization of the laser parameters is presented. REIMS analysis of the aerosol formed by laser ablation of tissue shows similar spectral characteristics to those acquired by the electrosurgery-REIMS system, with the data dominated by signals corresponding to complex lipids. Imaging of biological tissue with 100 μm resolution is demonstrated and the technique is then applied to human breast tissue samples. In contrast to the destructive nature of electrosurgical REIMS which limits the amount of data collected from a sample and makes histological identification challenging, laser REIMS imaging allows spectral data and histological information to be easily matched. Imaging data are collected for healthy and cancerous human breast tissue and are used to construct a histologically annotated spectral database, with excellent classification accuracy for real-time analysis.

内隐学习指的是不需要有意识参与的学习,它是有机体通过与环境接触,无目的、自动地获得事件或客体间结构关系的过程。目前,内隐学习研究中存在这样的争论:采用人工语法的内隐学习范式研究中,被试获得的知识究竟是表面特征还是规则本身,抽象规则能否被内隐地习得。姜珊等(2012)采用独特的汉语声调远距离对仗规则为材料,在平衡了组块强度和重复结构的条件下,结果显示了汉语声调远距离对仗规则能够被内隐地习得,证实了内隐学习也可以习得抽象规则。远距离对仗规则得习得需要一个记忆缓冲区,而SimpleRecurrent Network(简单递归网络)可以提供一个临时存储缓冲区,原则上保证了简单递归网络模型能够学会远距离规则。本研究的目的是想进一步研究先前知识经验对于内隐学习的影响。对姜珊等(2012)的材料进行了两种方式得编码(平仄韵律编码和声调编码),并用简单递归网络进行训练和测验。如果平仄归类的经验促进了内隐学习,那么简单递归网络模型在使用平仄韵律编码时相对于使用声调编码成绩会更好。模拟的结果显示平仄韵律编码的训练组成绩显著高于声调编码的成绩,两种编码方式的控制组之间差异不显著。两组编码方式的结果与人类被试的结果相比较,平仄编码的结果与人类被试结果更匹配。支持了平仄韵律的先天归类促进了内隐学习。

Pixel super-resolution using wavelength scanning

Undersampling and pixelation affect a number of imaging systems, limiting the resolution of the acquired images, whichbecomes particularly significant for wide-field microscopy applications. Various super-resolution techniques have been implemented to mitigate this resolution loss by utilizing sub-pixel displacements in the imaging system, achieved, for example, byshifting the illumination source, the sensor array and/or the sample, followed by digital synthesis of a smaller effective pixel bymerging these sub-pixel-shifted low-resolution images. Herein, we introduce a new pixel super-resolution method that is basedon wavelength scanning and demonstrate that as an alternative to physical shifting/displacements, wavelength diversity can beused to boost the resolution of a wide-field imaging system and significantly increase its space-bandwidth product. We confirmedthe effectiveness of this new technique by improving the resolution of lens-free as well as lens-based microscopy systems anddeveloped an iterative algorithm to generate high-resolution reconstructions of a specimen using undersampled diffraction patterns recorded at a few wavelengths covering a narrow spectrum (10–30 nm). When combined with a synthetic-aperture-baseddiffraction imaging technique, this wavelength-scanning super-resolution approach can achieve a half-pitch resolution of250 nm, corresponding to a numerical aperture of ~ 1.0, across a large field of view (420 mm^(2)). We also demonstrated theeffectiveness of this approach by imaging various biological samples, including blood and Papanicolaou smears. Compared withdisplacement-based super-resolution techniques, wavelength scanning brings uniform resolution improvement in all directionsacross a sensor array and requires significantly fewer measurements. This technique would broadly benefit wide-field imagingapplications that demand larger space-bandwidth products.

在一个切身需要证成人文学科价值的时代,重新审视和重建历史学科的公共相关性的需求并不令人惊讶。然而,这种需求是当前的学术提议所无法满足的。人们迫切希望的历史书写的复兴,反而在于调和我们自己与“历史”这个词的双重含义,探索历史作为事件进程和历史作为历史书写之间的必要关联。尽管过去几十年里的普遍趋势是禁止对历史进行前一种意义上的哲学思考(至少在历史学系和哲学系是这样),但在某种程度上我们已经这样做了,而没有屈服于一种实质性的思考。我们已经有了思辨的萌芽,尽管只是准实质的历史哲学,但它认真对待了战后对实质性进路的批评。首先,这种准实质的历史哲学证明了我们这个时代的历史感。其次,历史作为历史书写带来了一系列的影响。最后,历史书写与其说是对公共议程的贡献,不如说是公共生活处于危急关头的竞技场。

One form of renal osteodystrophy secondary to chronic renal failure is the osteitis fibrosa cystica, which is the complication of secondary hyperparathyroidism. Osteitis fibrosa cystica is a histologically benign, tumor-like lesion of bones. Since early diagnosis and treatment of hyperparathyroidism is available nowadays, the development of osteitis fibrosa cystica has become rare. It can only be found in neglected cases and in those where the treatment of chronic renal failure is unsuccessful. We present the case of a boy, who developed osteitis fibrosa cystica as a complication of secondary hyperparathyroidism. Our article is the first to report a case about an osteitis fibrosa cystica found in a child’s vertebra and this tumor was the only one, which reached a size of approximately 10 × 15 × 15 cm. We present the CT films and X-ray pictures, the surgical solution and the results of the histological examination.

Influence of Nostoc entophytum and Tetracystis sp. on Winter Survival of Rapeseed

Bioassay results proved that several microalgae strains of the Mosonmagyaróvár Algal Culture Collection (MACC) enhanced plant growth, due to their hormone content and other secondary metabolites. The aim of the current research was to improve autumn growth and winter survival of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) by treatment with two microalgae strains selected by bioassay results. Experimental plots were set up in Mosonmagyaróvár in 2010 and 2013. Winter rapeseed hybrid (B. napus L. cv. Orlando) plants were treated in 4-6 leaves stage with 0.3 g/L and 1 g/L suspensions of MACC-612 Nostoc entophytum Bornet & Flahault and MACC-430 Tetracystis sp. in middle of October. After the treatments, the following parameters were recorded: chlorophyll-a and b, carotenoid, dry matter content of leaves, average amount of autumn foliage, diameter of root collar, length of shoot tips, fresh and dry weight of root, and number of plants in autumn and spring. Both microalgae treatments significantly increased pigment concentration and dry matter content of leaves, number of fully grown leaves (13%-46%) and dry root weight (16%-36%). Treatments with 0.3 g/L and 1 g/L MACC-612 suspensions increased the length of shoot apices by 14%-18% and 25%-35%, respectively. Number of overwintered control plants decreased significantly in both years (31%), but there was no decrease in parcels treated with 1 g/L of MACC-612 and MACC-430. Microalgae treatments could increase plant growth and survival, which contributed to the significant increase of thousand seed weight (18%-25%) and total yield (by 10%-24%).

Role of Electrical Forces in Angiogenesis

The role of electrical forces in angiogenesis is widely studied. The electric field (EF) induces polarization of the endothelial cells, and in this way, it is a morphogen in angiogenesis. Additional to the polarization, it may build up by newborn cells in the process of cellular fission. Due to the weak direct experimental results on the transitions of endothelial cells, we used an analogy to these epithelial transitions. This involved using the injury current, which induces oriented cell migration and morphological arrangement in wound healing. The injury-current considerations are applied for malignant proliferation as well.

Holographic-Type Gravitation via Non-Differentiability in Weyl-Dirac Theory

In the Weyl-Dirac non-relativistic hydrodynamics approach, the non-linear interaction between sub-quantum level and particle gives non-differentiable properties to the space. Therefore, the movement trajectories are fractal curves, the dynamics are described by a complex speed field and the equation of motion is identified with the geodesics of a fractal space which corresponds to a Schrodinger non-linear equation. The real part of the complex speed field assures, through a quantification condition, the compatibility between the Weyl-Dirac non-elativistic hydrodynamic model and the wave mechanics. The mean value of the fractal speed potential, identifies with the Shanon informational energy, specifies, by a maximization principle, that the sub-quantum level “stores” and “transfers” the informational energy in the form of force. The wave-particle duality is achieved by means of cnoidal oscillations modes of the state density, the dominance of one of the characters, wave or particle, being put into correspondence with two flow regimes (non-quasi-autonomous and quasi-autonomous) of the Weyl-Dirac fluid. All these show a direct connection between the fractal structure of space and holographic principle.

Algaetechnology is a significant scope of the international research and developmental work because it’s a green technology that reduces the utterance of impurities and works as a renewing energy source. The CO2 from stack gases of the various flows of manufacturing and the nitrogen from certain technical wastewater are necessary for the plants even as algae. The transaction of CO2 with this object and the utilization stand a good chance by hungarian clime with the teamwork from the technical environment. The technology is a new solution in Hungary which eases utterance of the impurities. As a result of our research we expanded alga polities which utilize the CO2 from refinery’s stack gas and they grow intensively in the continental clime, too. The critical points of the technology are the concentration of the algae suspension and the extraction because of the high investment and operating costs and high operational time. The algae technology in this direction depends on this step. Our aim is to separate the algae mass faster and more economical from the starter solution. The optimization of the separating operations and technologies takes notice of the environmental and economic aspects.

Characterization of the Effect of Programmed Aeration on Energy Efficiency of Microalgae Cultivation System

With autotrophic microalgae cultivation,?we can feed back the CO2?content of process streams and we can get lots of valuable organic compounds, among others biofuel components. For the production of energy source,we must reckon with the energy balance of the whole process. Densification and processing of microalgae can consume 50% - 70% of the energy that can be extracted from the cells,?therefore the cultivation should use such a little energy as it possible. In closed cultivation systems,?there are three main energy intensive steps: artificial illumination, dissolution of gas compounds and mixing. We have carried out our measurements in our lab-scale screening photobioreactor system for the investigation of the most energy effective program for aeration. We have found the aeration program considerable solution for lower energy consumption in?algae cultivation.
