Computational simulations can accelerate the design and modelling of origami robots and *** paper presents a computational method using algorithms developed in Python to generate different tessellated origami crease patterns *** paper aims to automate this process by introducing a system that automatically generates origami crease patterns in Scalable Vector Graphics *** introducing different parameters,variations of the same underlying tessellated crease pattern can be *** user interface consists of an input file where the user can input the desired parameters,which are then processed by an algorithm written in Python to generate the respective origami 2D crease *** origami crease patterns can serve as inputs to current origami design software and algorithms to generate origami design models for faster and easier visual *** paper utilizes a basic biomimetic inspiration origami pattern to demonstrate the functionality by varying underlying crease pattern parameters that give rise to symmetric and asymmetric spring origami 3D ***,this paper conducts a qualitative analysis of the origami design outputs of an origami simulator from the input crease patterns and the respective manual folding of the origami structure.

Background:As internet and social media use have skyrocketed,epidemiologists have begun to use online data such as Google query data and Twitter trends to track the activity levels of influenza and other infectious *** China,Weibo is an extremely popular microblogging site that is equivalent to *** on the wealth of public opinion data contained in posts on Weibo,this study used Weibo as a measure of the Chinese people’s reactions to two different outbreaks:the 2012 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus(MERS-CoV)outbreak,and the 2013 outbreak of human infection of avian influenza A(H7N9)in ***:Keyword searches were performed in Weibo data collected by The University of hong Kong’s Weiboscope *** values were determined for each keyword and reaction values per million posts in the days after outbreak information was released to the ***:The results show that the Chinese people reacted significantly to both outbreaks online,where their social media reaction was two orders of magnitude stronger to the H7N9 influenza outbreak that happened in China than the MERS-CoV outbreak that was far away from ***:These results demonstrate that social media could be a useful measure of public awareness and reaction to disease outbreak information released by health authorities.

Treatment of RuCl2(PPh3)3 with 6-dimethylaminopentafulvene in THF in the presence of water produced(η5-C5H4Cho) RuCl(PPh3)2, which was reduced by NaBH4 to give the Ru–H···ho dihydrogen bonded complex(η5-C5H4CH2OH) RuH(PPh3)2. The dihydrogen bonded complex(η5-C5H4CH2OH)RuH(PPh3)2 could also be synthesized by the reduction of complex(η5-C5H4Cho)RuH(PPh3)2, which was obtained by the reaction of RuHCl(PPh3)3 with 6-dimethylaminopentafulvene in the presence of water. The analogous dihydrogen bonded osmium complex(η5-C5H4CH2OH)OsH(PPh3)2 was similarly prepared. Single crystal structures and DFT calculations support the presence of intra-molecular H···H interaction, with separations of around 1.9 to 2.0 .

BACKGROUND People with bipolar disorder(BD)frequently struggle with the recurrence of affective ***,the interplay between coping mechanism and positive mood state remains *** To explore the associations among behavioral approach system(BAS)sensitivity level,coping,and positive mood states among people with *** Using a cross-sectional study design,90 participants with BD were presented with four BAS-activating life event scenarios and assessed with regard to their BAS trait sensitivity,coping flexibility,and mood states.A hierarchical clustering method was used to identify different groups with different styles of *** hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to examine the mediating and moderating roles of different components of coping on mood *** A three-cluster solution was found to best fit the present data *** findings showed that a low mass of coping combined with low BAS sensitivity level protects people with BD from detrimentally accentuating mood states when they encounter BAS-activating life ***,coping flexibility is demonstrated to mediate and moderate the relationships between BAS sensitivity level and mood ***,subduing the perceived controllability and reducing the use of behavioral-activation/emotion-amplifying coping strategies could help buffer the effect of positive *** The judicious use of coping in emotion regulation for people with BD when encountering BAS-activating life events was *** applications and theoretical implications are highlighted.

A numerical physio-chemical model of the NO_(x)-O_(3) photochemical cycle in the near-wake region of an isolated residential/office building has been presented in this *** investigation delves into the dispersion of reactive air pollutants through the lens of fluid phenomenology and its impact on chemical reactivity,formation,transport,deposition,and *** fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations were conducted for the ground-point-source(GES)and roof-pointsource(RES)*** show that the Damköhler number(Da),which quantifies pollutants’physio-chemical timescales,displays a strong inverse proportionality with the magnitude and spread of NO–increasing Da reduces human exposure to the toxic NO and NO_(2) *** different wind directions were considered,the dispersion range of NO exhibited varying shrinking directions as Da ***,as Da increases,the concentration ratio KNO_(2)/KNO_(x),which quantifies the production of NO_(2) resulting from NO depletion,forms sharp high-low gradients near emission *** GES,the dispersion pattern is governed by the fluid’s phenomenological *** RES,the intoxicated area emanates from the building’s leading-edge,with the lack of shielding inhibiting pollutant interactions in the near-wake,resulting in scant physio-chemical *** NO_(2)/NO_(x) distribution follows a self-similar,stratified pattern,exhibiting consistent layering gradients and attributing to the natural deposition of the already-reacted pollutants rather than in-situ *** the end,building design guidelines have been proposed to reduce pedestrian and resident exposure to NO_(x)-O_(3).

Subfertility can be caused by acquired or genetic factors. Y chromosome microdeletion is one of the genetic factors associating with male infertility.1 Azoospermia factors (AZFa, AZFb and AZFc) have been mapped to different subregions in Yq11.2 So far, two gene families, RNA-binding motif (RBM) and deleted in azoospermia (DAZ) from interval 6, were proposed as candidate spermatogenesis genes for AZF.3,4 Recent studies demonstrated that microdeletions were detected at a frequency of 5% to 18% in the AZF region of oligospermic and azoospermic men.5-7 With the development of assisted reproductive technologies, particularly intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), these men can now father a child and the genetic abnormalities in defective spermatozoa could be transmitted to future offspring. To examine the possible transmission of the Y-chromosome microdeletion to the offspring via ICSI treatment, we performed both cytogenetic and molecular analyses of the Y chromosome on both an infertile patient with Y chromosome microdeletion and his offspring.

A biosynthetic gene cluster for the bioactive fungal sesterterpenoids variecolin(1)and variecolactone(2)was identified in Aspergillus aculeatus ATCC *** production of 1 and 2 was achieved in Aspergillus oryzae by expressing the sesterterpene synthase VrcA and the cytochrome P450 ***,the replacement of VrcB with homologous P450s from other fungal terpenoid pathways yielded three new variecolin analogues(5-7).Analysis of the compounds’anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo revealed that although 5 and 1 had comparable activities,5 was associated with significantly reduced toxic side effects in cancer-bearing mice,indicating its potentially broader therapeutic *** study describes the first tests of variecolin and its analogues in animals and demonstrates the utility of synthetic biology for creating molecules with improved biological activities.
