A review of data mining technologies in building energy systems:Load prediction,pattern identification,fault detection and diagnosis

With the advent of the era of big data,buildings have become not only energy-intensive but also data-intensive.Data mining technologies have been widely utilized to release the values of massive amounts of building operation data with an aim of improving the operation performance of building energy systems.This paper aims at making a comprehensive literature review of the applications of data mining technologies in this domain.In general,data mining technologies can be classified into two categories,i.e.,supervised data mining technologies and unsupervised data mining technologies.In this field,supervised data mining technologies are usually utilized for building energy load prediction and fault detection/diagnosis.And unsupervised data mining technologies are usually utilized for building operation pattern identification and fault detection/diagnosis.Comprehensive discussions are made about the strengths and shortcomings of the data mining-based methods.Based on this review,suggestions for future researches are proposed towards effective and efficient data mining solutions for building energy systems.

The previous work found that the additive kaolin could scavenge not only sodium(Na)but also calcium(Ca)and magnesium(Mg),which is the important ash fluxing agents in low rank coal combustion.Such scavenging effects of kaolin on fine ash formation were studied in the present work.A typical Zhundong coal and its blends with kaolin at dosages of 1,2 and 4 wt%were combusted in an electrically heated drop tube furnace(DTF)at 1300℃.The fine ashes generated were collected and size segregated by a low pressure impactor(LPI).The morphology and chemical composition of fine ash were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energydispersive spectrometer(SEM-EDS).In addition,char/ash particles were sampled at various positions of DTF to elucidate how kaolin additive affected the fine ash formation process.The results further showed that apart from the scavenging of volatile Na,kaolin additive could also strongly scavenge the refractory Ca,Mg and Fe in the fine ash during Zhundong coal combustion,which transformed the sintered particles with irregular shape into melted spherical particles,and finally resulted in the considerable decrease of these elements in both PM_(0.4)and PM_(0.4-10)by melting and agglomeration.The close contacts between kaolin particles and coal resulted from physically mixing were a key factor responsible for the reaction of kaolin with the refractory Ca,Mg and Fe.

Visual curve completion is a fundamental problem in understanding the principles of the human visual system. This problem is usually divided into two problems: a grouping problem and a shape problem.On one hand, though perception of the visually completed curve is clearly a global task(for example,a human perceives the Kanizsa triangle only when seeing all three black objects), conventional methods for solving the grouping problem are generally based on local Gestalt laws. On the other hand, the shape of the visually completed curve is usually recovered by minimizing shape energy in existing methods.However, not only do these methods lack mechanisms to adjust the shape of the recovered visual curve using perceptual, psychophysical, and neurophysiological knowledge, but it is also difficult to calculate an explicit representation of the visually completed curve. In this paper, we present a systematic computational model for generating a visually completed curve. Firstly, based on recent studies of perception, psychophysics, and neurophysiology, we formulate a grouping procedure based on the human visual system by seeking a minimum Hamiltonian cycle in a graph, solving the grouping problem in a global manner. Secondly, we employ a B′ezier curve-based model to represent the visually completed curve. Not only is an explicit representation deduced, but we also present a means to integrate knowledge from related areas, such as perception, psychophysics, and neurophysiology, and so on. The proposed computational model has been validated using many modal and amodal completion examples, and desirable results were obtained.

Electron Tomography （ET） is an important method for studying cell ultrastructure in three-dimensional （3D） space. By combining cryo-electron tomography of frozen-hydrated samples （cryo-ET） and a sub-tomogram averaging approach, ET has recently reached sub-nanometer resolution, thereby realizing the capability for gaining direct insights into function and mechanism. To obtain a high-resolution 3D ET reconstruction, alignment and geometry determination of the ET tilt series are necessary. However, typical methods for determining geometry require human intervention, which is not only subjective and easily introduces errors, but is also labor intensive for high-throughput tomographic reconstructions. To overcome these problems, we have developed an automatic geometry-determination method, called AutoGDeterm. By taking advantage of the high-contrast re-projections of the Iterative Compressed-sensing Optimized Non-Uniform Fast Fourier Transform （NUFFT） reconstruction （ICON） and a series of numerical analysis methods, AutoGDeterm achieves high-precision fully automated geometry determination. Experimental results on simulated and resin-embedded datasets show that the accuracy of AutoGDeterm is high and comparable to that of the typical ＂manual positioning＂ method. We have made AutoGDeterm available as software, which can be freely downloaded from our website http：//***.

The commercial application of Li metal anodes is hindered by the dendrite growth and short cycling lifespan under high current density that are caused in part by the imbalance in the charge transport capability in the anode. Here, we present a design principle of a three-dimensional（3 D） skeleton to introduce highly efficient ion-and electron-conducting channels in the Li anode. A process of thermal infusion followed by cooling is used to synthesize a dual-phase Li-rich Li-Zn alloy that consists of an LiZn intermetallic compound phase as the 3 D framework and the uniformly distributed Li metal phase as the active material. The phase-segregated Li-Zn phase endows the Li10 Zn alloy with built-in fast ion transport channels, in addition to the ionic conducting pathway of the liquid electrolyte, leading to better charge balance and conformal deposition of Li on the scaffold. Consequently, the Li10 Zn alloy anode can be operated for more than 10000 cycles at a high current density of 5 mA cmand areal capacity of 1 m Ah cm. Remarkably, even for the high current density of 10 m A cmand areal capacity as large as 10 mAh cm, the cycling lifetime is still greater than 500 cycles. Thus, the scaffold with high ion/electron mixed conductivity is highly effective for inhibiting Li dendrite growth and prolonging the cycling lifespan, highlighting the great promise of the fast ion conducting alloy framework for use in Li secondary batteries at high current densities.

Heart regeneration is a fascinating and complex biological process. Decades of intensive studies have revealed asophisticated molecular network regulating cardiac regeneration in the zebrafish and neonatal mouse heart. Here,we review both the classical and recent literature on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying heartregeneration, with a particular focus on how injury triggers the cell-cycle re-entry of quiescent cardiomyocytes toreplenish their massive loss after myocardial infarction or ventricular resection. We highlight several importantsignaling pathways for cardiomyocyte proliferation and propose a working model of how these injury-inducedsignals promote cardiomyocyte proliferation. Thus, this concise review provides up-to-date research progresses onheart regeneration for investigators in the field of regeneration biology.

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is the most widely used biomarker for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, asubstantial proportion of HCC patients have either normal or marginally increased AFP levels in serum, and the underlyingmechanisms are not fully understood. In the present study, we provided in vitro and in vivo evidence that heat shock protein gp96promoted AFP expression at the transcriptional level in HCC. NR5A2 was identified as a key transcription factor for the AFP gene, andits stability was enhanced by gp96. A further mechanistic study by co-immunoprecipitation, GST pull-down, and molecular dockingshowed gp96 and the SUMO E3 ligase RanBP2 competitively binding to NR5A2 at the sites spanning from aa 507 to aa 539. Thebinding of gp96 inhibited SUMOylation, ubiquitination, and subsequent degradation of NR5A2. In addition, clinical analysis of HCCpatients indicated that gp96 expression in tumors was positively correlated with serum AFP levels. Therefore, our study uncovered anovel mechanism that gp96 regulates the stability of its client proteins by directly affecting their SUMOylation and ubiquitination.These findings will help in designing more accurate AFP-based HCC diagnosis and progression monitoring approaches.

目的基于中枢-外周-中枢闭环理论,探讨互动式头针结合上肢外骨骼机器人对脑卒中患者上肢功能的影响。方法选择2022年2月—2023年2月在山东大学附属省立第三医院康复治疗中心招募的40例脑卒中患者,采用随机数字表法将患者分为对照组和观察组,每组20例,均进行常规康复治疗。对照组在常规康复治疗的基础上进行上肢外骨骼机器人康复训练,每次25 min,1次/d,5 d/周,共4周。观察组在对照组治疗基础上新增头针留针,与上肢外骨骼机器人相结合进行互动式头针治疗。头针穴选取顶颞前斜线、顶旁2线的定位标准,留针25 min,间隔5 min施行捻转手法1次,1~2 min/次,1次/d,5 d/周,共4周。分别于治疗前后在ICF身体功能与结构领域使用Fugl-Meyer上肢运动功能评估量表(FMA-UE)评估上肢运动功能。在ICF活动领域使用Wolf运动功能测试(WMFT)评估患者上肢执行功能性任务的能力;在ICF参与领域使用改良Barthel指数(MBI)评估患者日常生活活动能力的独立性。结果①身体功能与结构领域:与治疗前相比,2组治疗4周后FMA-UE评分均明显提高(P<0.05);与对照组相比,观察组治疗后FMA-UE评分提升更显著(P<0.05)。②活动领域:与治疗前相比,2组治疗4周后WMFT评分均明显提高(P<0.05);与对照组相比,观察组治疗后WMFT评分明显提高(P<0.05)。③参与领域:2组治疗4周后MBI评分均明显提高(P<0.05);与对照组相比,观察组治疗后MBI评分提升更显著(P<0.05)。结论互动式头针结合上肢外骨骼机器人可有效改善脑卒中患者上肢运动功能、上肢执行功能性任务能力及日常生活活动能力。

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST)is a type of stroke associated with COVID-19 vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia.The precise etiology of CVST often remains elusive due to the highly heterogeneous nature of its governing mechanisms,specifically,Virchow’s triad that involves altered blood flow,endothelial dysfunction,and hypercoagulability,which varies substantially amongst individuals.Existing diagnostic and monitoring approaches lack the capability to reflect the combination of these patient-specific thrombotic determinants.In response to this challenge,we introduce a Vein-Chip platform that recapitulates the CVST vascular anatomy from magnetic resonance venography and the associated hemodynamic flow profile using the“Chinese Movable Type-like”soft stereolithography technique.The resultant full-lumen personalized Vein-Chips,functionalized with endothelial cells,enable in-vitro thrombosis assays that can elucidate distinct thrombogenic scenarios between normal vascular conditions and those of endothelial dysfunction.The former displayed minimal platelet aggregation and negligible fibrin deposition,while the latter presented significant fibrin extrusion from platelet aggregations.The low-cost movable typing technique further enhances the potential for commercialization and broader utilization of personalized Vein-Chips in surgical labs and at-home monitoring.Future research and development in this direction will pave the way for improved management and prevention of CVST,ultimately benefiting both patients and healthcare systems.
