Non-deflated balloon of a transurethral inserted bladder catheter is a problem that could be difficult to manage, especially in males. A variety of methods have been described to puncture the balloon and remove the catheter, though these can be associated with complications. We illustrate a simple and a safe method to overcome this problem using a flexible cystoscope under local anaesthesia.

Members of the family Chaetomiaceae are ubiquitous ascosporulating fungi commonly,which reside in soil enriched with manure or cellulosic *** role as human pathogens is largely ***,the ability of some species to grow at high temperature enables them to play an important role as opportunistic *** family contains several genera and species that have never been reported to cause human ***,three new species are described;two belong to the genus Subramaniula and one represents a Chaetomium *** asteroides was isolated from various sources including eye and skin infections as well as from the natural environment,and *** was isolated from a toe *** anamorphosum was isolated from a kidney transplant patient suffering from fungal *** species described were previously misidentified as Papulaspora *** to the formation of cellular clumps or bulbil-like structures,which are characteristic of *** isolates failed to form sexual fruit bodies and ascospores remained absent,which is an unusual feature for the generally ascosporulating genera Chaetomium and Subramaniula;minute conidia from phialides were sometimes observed.

A consensus meeting of national experts from all major national hepatobiliary centres in the country was held on May 26,2023,at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute&Research Centre(PKLI&RC)after initial consultations with the *** Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases(PSSLD)and PKLI&RC jointly organised this *** effort was based on a comprehensive literature review to establish national practice guidelines for hilar cholangiocarcinoma(hCCA).The consensus was that hCCA is a complex disease and requires a multidisciplinary team approach to best manage these *** coordinated effort can minimise delays and give patients a chance for curative treatment and effective *** diagnostic and staging workup includes high-quality computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,and magnetic resonance *** cytology or biopsy utilizing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a mainstay for ***,histopathologic confirmation is not always required before *** ultrasound with fine needle aspiration of regional lymph nodes and positron emission tomography scan are valuable adjuncts for *** only curative treatment is the surgical resection of the biliary tree based on the Bismuth-Corlette *** patients with unresectable hCCA can be considered for liver *** chemotherapy should be offered to patients with a high risk of *** use of preoperative biliary drainage and the need for portal vein embolisation should be based on local multidisciplinary *** with acute cholangitis can be drained with endoscopic or percutaneous biliary *** chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemcitabine has shown improved survival in patients with irresectable and recurrent hCCA.

Atom localization in a five-level atomic system under the effect of three driving fields and one standing wave field is suggested. A spontaneously emitted photon from the proposed system is measured in a detector. Precision position measurement of an atom is controlled via phase and vacuum field detuning without considering the parity violation.

A four-level N-type atomic medium is considered to study the effect of spontaneous generated coherence(SGC) and Kerr nonlinearity on light pulse propagation. A light pulse is propagating inside the medium where each atom follows four-level N-type atom-field configuration of rubidium(85Rb) atom. The atom-field interaction leads to electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT) process. The atom-field interaction is accompanied by normal dispersion and in the presence of SGC and Kerr nonlinearity the dispersion property of the proposed atomic medium is modified,which leads to enhancement of positive group index of the medium. The enhancement of positive group index then leads to slow group velocity inside the medium. A more slow group velocity is also investigated by incorporated the collective effect of SGC and Kerr nonlinearity. The control of group velocity inside a four-level N-type atomic medium via collective effect of SGC and Kerr nonlinearity is the major part of this work.

We use four-level atomic system and control the wave propagation via forbidden decay rate. The Raman gain process becomes dominant on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) medium by increasing the forbidden decay rate via increasing the number of atoms [G.S. Agarwal and T.N. Dey, Phys. Rev. A 74 (2005) 043805 and K. Harada, T. Kanbashi, and M. Mitsunaga, Phys. Rev. A 73 (2006) 013803]. The behavior of wave propagation is dramatically changed from normal (subluminal) to anomalous (superluminal) dispersion by increasing the forbidden decay rate. The system can also give a control over the group velocity of the light propagating through the medium via Kerr field.

A cold atomic medium(Rydberg medium) with cascade configuration under the blockade mechanism is considered. A partial coherent light(PCL) beam is incident on the medium, which makes an angle θ with z-axis. We study the influence of PCL field on the transmission spectrum and find high transmission of probe field for PCL ***, it is investigated that the transparency of probe field decrease for coherent light field. The transmission of probe field is also studied via beam width of PCL field and investigated high transmission of probe field for small beam width and vice versa. Interestingly, the Goos-H?nchen shift(GHS) in the transmitted light(TL) is studied for PCL field. Large negative and positive GHS in the TL are investigated for PCL field and small beam width of PCL field.

Non-thermal plasma has emerged as an effective treatment system against the latest class of highly recalcitrant and toxic environmental pollutants termed emerging contaminants(ECs).In the present work,a detailed experimental study is carried out to evaluate the efficacy of a non-thermal plasma jet with two dyes,Rd.B and ***,as model *** plasma jet provided a complete dye decoloration in 30 min with an applied voltage of 6.5 kV_(p-p).·OH,having the highest oxidation potential,acts as the main reactive species,which with direct action on contaminants also acts indirectly by getting converted into H_(2)O_(2)and O_(3).Further,the effect of critical operational parameters viz,sample pH,applied voltage(4.5–6.5 kV_(p-p)),conductivity(5–20 mS cm^(-1)),and sample distance on plasma treatment efficacy was also *** of all the assessed parameters,the applied voltage and sample conductivity was found to be the most significant operating parameters.A high voltage and low conductivity favored the dye decoloration,while the pH effect was not that *** understand the influence of plasma discharge gas on treatment efficacy,all the experiments are conducted with argon and helium gases under the fixed geometrical *** the gases provided a similar dye decoloration *** DBD plasma system with complete dye removal also rendered maximum mineralization of 73%for Rd.B,and 60%for ***,the system's efficiency against the actual ECs(four pharmaceutical compounds,viz,metformin,atenolol,acetaminophen,and ranitidine)and microbial contaminant(***)was also *** system showed effectivity in the complete removal of targeted pharmaceuticals and a log2.5 *** *** present systematic characterization of dye degradation could be of interest to large communities working towards commercializing plasma treatment systems.

PsRNA:A Computing Engine for the Comparative Identification of Putative Small RNA Locations within Intergenic Regions

Small RNAs （sRNAs） are non-coding transcripts exerting their functions in the cells directly. Identification of sRNAs is a difficult task due to the lack of clear sequence and structural biases. Most sRNAs are identified within genus specific intergenic regions in related genomes. However, several of these regions remain un-annotated due to lack of sequence homology and/or potent statistical identification tools. A computational engine has been built to search within the intergenic regions to identify and roughly annotate new putative sRNA regions in Enterobacteriaceae genomes. It utilizes experimentally known sRNA data and their flanking genes/KEGG Orthology （KO） numbers as templates to identify similar sRNA regions in related query genomes. The search engine not only has the capability to locate putative intergenic regions for specific sRNAs, but also has the potency to locate conserved, shuffled or deleted gene clusters in query genomes. Because it uses the KO terms for locating functionally important regions such as sRNAs, any further KO number assignment to additional genes will increase the sensitivity. The PsRNA server is used for the identification of putative sRNA regions through the information retrieved from the sRNA of interest. The computing engine is available online at http：//bioserver 1 .***/psrna/and http：//***： 8081/psrna/.
