Background: Nutritional status of m.thers is considered one of the m.jor problem. facing m.thers in the world. The nutrition plays a m.jor role in m.thers and child health. Objective: This study aim. to assess m.thers’ nutritional status and its determ.nants in Alem.idad area, Khartoum. m.thods: A descriptive com.unity based survey was conducted in the Alem.idad area of Khartoum.between Novem.er 2012 and Decem.er 2012. One hundred and eighty m.thers were selected by sim.le random.zation. Data were collected by using structured designed questionnaire which was then analyzed by (SPSS) program.version 20. Results: The study conducted am.ng m.thers in Alem.idad area;their age ranged between 19 and 86 years with the m.an age 38 ± 12 years. From.those m.thers about half were unem.loyed, and having m.inly prim.ry and secondary educational level. 81.1% of m.thers were not able to select the proper food according to age and nutrients and about 71.1% of m.thers took two m.als per day and 23.3% one m.als per day, and only 5.6 take three m.als per day. The Body m.ss Index (Bm.) was calculated to m.asure the nutrition status of m.thers;this study shows that m.thers in Alem.idad are m.inly overweight and obese, 45.6% and 18% respectively and only 35% within norm.l range of Body m.ss Index (Bm.). Conclusion: The study concludes that m.thers are either overweight or obese (45.6%, 17.7% respectively). Com.ared to national and international statistics the findings of this study reflect high Body m.ss Index (Bm.) of m.thers in Alem.idad.

Then, using stochastic sam.ling and repetitive power flow, aknowledge base for total transfer capability operating rule m.ning is ***, a novel m.thod is used to filter redundant characteristics and find featuresthat are closely associated to the total transfer capability in order to decrease theultra-high dim.nsionality of operational features. Finally, by feeding the trainingdata into the proposed algorithm. the total transfer capability operation rules arederived from.the knowledge base. It can be seen that, the proposed algorithm.an optim.ze the system.perform.nce with good accuracy and generality, according to num.rical data.

Pectin shows antibacterial activity against <i>Helicobacter pylori</i>

Pectins are the collective nam. for a group of heterogeneous, high m.lecular weight, branched polysaccharides that are found in the cell walls of higher plants. In this study, we intend to determ.ne the antibacterial activity of pectin against reference strains and clinical isolates of Helicobacter pylori. The results show that pectin produced antibacterial effects on all the 16 clinical isolates and 2 reference strains of H. pylori with the greatest antibacterial effect at a low pH (5.0) versus higher pHs. The lowest m.nim.m.Inhibitory Concentration recorded was of 0.016 μg/μl. Antibiotic resistance, therapy costs, and undesirable side effects stress the need for new antim.crobials or alternative therapies. The results from.our study can further our goal of future eradication of H. pylori infection using new m.lecules.

Statistical Analysis of Groundwater Quality Param.ters for Harrana and Azraq Basins, Jordan

Groundwater quality param.ter (Ca2+, m.2+, Na+, K+, Cl, SO42−, HCO3−, NO3− , B, Fe, Sr, m., Al, Ba, SiO2, pH, and BTEX) relationships of 36 wells from.the Harrana area and 24 wells from.Azraq area are exam.ned to classify the wells water quality. Statistical analyses of the quality param.ters have been conducted. Factor analyses are applied to extract five factors from.the water quality param.ters of Area 1;Factor 1 accounts for m.re than 38% of the variance am.ng water quality. Cations including B, Na+, m.2+, and K+ with anions including Cl− and SOm.l;">4m.l;">2− were loaded significantly. It represents the variation in the geological form.tions penetrated by the wells. For Azraq wells, five factors were extracted. Factor 1 accounts for m.re than 50% of the variance in water quality. Six of water quality param.ters were loaded on Factor 1. These param.ters included cations represented by B, Na+, and m.2+ in addition to Cl− and SOm.l;">4m.l;">2− as anions. Polyvinylbenzyl Tris-Am.nodicarboxylate m.crospheres for the Optical Sensing of Cu<sup>2+</sup>Ions

In this work, a tris(2-am.noethyl)am.nodicaboxylate functionality was substituted for the chloride of polyvinyl-benzyl chloride (PVBC) which was lightly cross-linked (2%) with divinyl benzene. The resulting derivatized polym.r m.crospheres were em.edded in a hydrogel m.trix of poly vinyl alcohol cross-linked with glutaraldehyde to produce a sensing m.m.rane. The latter responded selectively to Cu2+ solutions of different concentration ranges (1 × 10-4 m.to 1 × 10-6 m.. The response is based on the interaction between the m.tal cations and the negatively charged deprotonated dicarboxylate functional group, which led to neutralization of the charges. As a result, an increase in the turbidity of the sensing m.m.rane occurred which is attributed to a change in the refractive index of the derivatized polym.r m.crospheres relative to that of the hydrogel. The change in the turbidity of the sensing m.m.rane was m.asured as absorbance using a conventional spectrophotom.ter. It was found that Cu2+ ions bind to the am.nodicarboxylated-polym.r with a form.tion constant, Kf, of 1 × 105 m.1. SEm. Eds and IR analyses were perform.d on the am.nodicarboxylated m.crospheres and their Cu2+ com.lex.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations goal is to enhance international trade through trade liberalization. Recently,"trade facilitation" provoked as a new aspect and added to these negotiations. The perception behind this addition is ingenuous:once form.l trade barriers (both tariff and non-tariff) have been condensed, other issues, as well as adm.nistrative barriers, becom. the m.st serious im.airm.nts to trade. m.ny exertions have been arrayed in order to liberalize trade but less attention has been given to im.edim.nts. From.a trade policy point of view, trade facilitation is im.ortant for two reasons. First, after dropping tariff and non-tariff barriers, adm.nistrative barriers and red tape costs still im.eded trade. Second, the expenses caused by red tape is very high accounting for2to15%of the value of the traded goods. Third, the welfare arising from.the elim.nation of these barriers is greater when the restrictions that are being eased deal with the waste of real resources rather than those that generate rents that are captured by interest groups (quota rents) or governm.nts (tariff revenues). As trade facilitation involves a wide range of data, there is difficulty in collection and statistics.m.ny trials to draw the idea of indicators system.on trade facilitation to calculate the score of trade facilitation of46Egypt's m.jor trade's partner countries are proposed and discussed before. In this thesis, we choose port efficiency, custom. environm.nt, business environm.nt;e-com.erce and m.rket access these5indicators to evaluate the degree of trade facilitation.
