Experimental investigation on pressure-buildup characteristics of a water lump immerged in a molten lead pool

Motivated to understand the pressure-buildup characteristics in a circumstance of a water droplet immerged inside a heavy liquid metal pool,which is a key phenomenon during a Steam Generator Tube Rupture accident of Lead-cooled Fast Reactor,many experiments have been conducted by injecting water lumps into a molten lead pool at Sun Yat-sen *** order to deepen the understanding of the influence of melt material,this lead experiment was compared with a Lead-Bismuth-Eutectic(LBE)experiment in the *** both experiments,a steam explosion occurred in a small part of the experi-mental runs,which generally leads to strengthened pressure *** the non-explosion experimental cases,the impact of all parameters employed in lead experiments(i.e.,water lump volume,water lump shape,molten pool depth,and temperature of water and melt)on the pressure buildup is non-negligible and similar to that in our previous experiments using ***,limited pressure buildup with an increase in water lump volume was also observed.A slightly more violent pressure buildup tends to appear in the lead experiments than in the LBE experiments under the same experimental conditions,which may be due to the higher thermal conductivity of lead than of *** a few experimental runs with a relatively low melt temperature close to the melting point of lead,local solidification of liquid lead was observed,restricting pressure *** the lead and LBE experiments,the calculated melt kinetic energy conversion efficiencyηhas a relatively small value(not exceeding 1.6%),and theηvalues have an overall positive correlation with the impulse on the molten pool.

Unstable attractors are a novel type of attractor with local unstable dynamics, but with positive measures of ***, we introduce local contracting dynamics by slightly modifying the function which mediates the interactions among the oscillators. Thus, the property of unstable attractors can be controlled through the cooperation of expanding and contracting dynamics. We demonstrate that one certain type of unstable attractor is successfully controlled through this simple modification. Specifically, the staying time for unstable attractors can be prolonged, and we can even turn the unstable attractors into stable attractors with predictable basin sizes. As an application, we demonstrate how to realize the switching dynamics that is only sensitive to the finite size perturbations.

7 YSZ coating was prepared by plasma sprayphysical vapor deposition(PS-PVD) technique based on a specific experimental *** microstructure and deposition properties of 7 YSZ coating along the radius of plasma jet were investigated in *** show that the coating presents regional characteristic in the radial direction,which could be divided into three typical zones:In Zone Ⅰ,the coating is all composed of columnar structures with cauliflower structure,and the coating properties including the surface roughness and deposition efficiency(DE) are almost stable;in Zone Ⅲ,the coating is made up of solid particles,droplet and gas phase mixed without columnar structures;Zone Ⅱ is between Zone Ⅰ and ZoneⅢ, in which there are columns with domed top and small *** on experiment results,a model on the state and distribution of particles in plasma jet was proposed to clarify the regional *** study is helpful to comprehend and control coatings deposition by PS-PVD technique.

It is well known that single-atom catalysts(SACs)have become a hot topic in the field of catalysis due to their advantages such as 100%metal atom utilization efficiency,high catalytic activity and selectivity compared with conventional catalysts and ***,the isolated metal atoms on SACs have thermodynamic instability and tend to agglomerate,which limit their catalytic ***,it is of great significance to synthesize stable and high-loading single-atom catalysts(HLSACs).In this paper,we review the research progress of HLSACs from two aspects:design and ***,we comprehensively introduce the synthesis strategies of HLSACs,namely,top-down and bottom-up ***,we overview the application status of HLSACs in three fields:electrocatalysis,thermal catalysis and ***,we summarize the development prospects and challenges of HLSACs.

Preparation of CePO_4-coated zirconia ceramics and their mechanical behavior

Tetragonal ZrO2-3 mol% Y2O3 （3Y-TZP） coated with CePO4 was synthesized by a co-precipitation method and the effects of CePO4 content and sintering temperature on its mechanical properties were investigated. The microstructure and phase composition of the products were characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopy as well as X-ray diffraction, respectively. The machinability index of CePO4-coated zirconia was calculated to be 1.05 when the CePO4 content is 25 wt.%. The sample hardness, bending strength and fracture toughness are 7.08 GPa, 457.85 MPa and 9.75 MPa m1/2, respectively, when the sintering temperature is 1400°C. The results show that as-prepared CePO4-coated 3Y-TZP ceramics are highly suitable biomaterials for dental applications and are expected to be used in a com-puter-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing （CAD/CAM） system to make dental crowns or bridge prostheses in a one-step sinter-ing process.

Tensegrities made of tensile strings and compressed struts possess large strength-to-mass ratio values but tend to experience non-negligible vibration in dynamic environments because of poor structural ***,we introduce particle dampers into a tensegrity prism to attenuate vibration,with the goal of establishing a lightweight and efficient approach of vibration *** integrate the particle dampers and the tensegrity,a novel strut structure formed by assembling a solid strut and a hollow strut is devised,in which granular materials are inserted to develop a particle *** vibration attenuation performance of the tensegrity prism is investigated through exciter *** to the experimental parametric study,the influences of system parameters including excitation magnitude,the filling height of particles,particle size and the configuration of tensegrity prism on the vibration attenuation performance is *** addition,the experimental results regarding the dependence of the vibration attenuation on the system parameters are interpreted by the mechanism of collisions and frictions between particles and between particles and *** maximal vibration attenuation ratio of 76%can be achieved in the ***,this research can provide insights into the design of lightweight tensegrity structures where vibration suppression is important,particularly in some dynamic environments.

Liposomes,the self-assembled phospholipid vesicles,have been extensively used in various fields such as artificial cells,drug delivery systems,biosensors and ***,current microfluidic routes to liposomes mostly rely on water-in-oil-in-water double emulsion droplets as templates,and require complex fabrication of microfluidic devices,and tedious manipulation of multiphase *** we present a simple microfluidic approach to preparing monodisperse liposomes from oil-in-water *** demonstration,we used butyl acetate-water-ethanol ternary mixtures as inner phase and an aqueous solution of surfactants as outer phase to make oil-in-water droplets,which can evolve into water-in-oil-in-water double emulsion droplets by liquid-liquid phase separation of ternary ***,the resultant water-in-oil-in-water droplets underwent a dewetting transition to form separated monodisperse liposomes and residual oil droplets,with the assistance of *** method is simple,does not require complex microfluidic devices and tedious manipulation,and provides a new platform for controllable preparation of liposomes.

In the present paper, a general solution involv- ing three arbitrary functions for the generalized （2＋1）- dimensional KdV-mKdV equation, which is derived from the generalized （1＋1）-dimensional KdV-mKdV equa- tion, is first introduced by means of the Wiess, Tabor, Carnevale （WTC） truncation method. And then multi- symplectic formulations with several conservation laws taken into account are presented for the generalized （2＋1）- dimensional KdV-mKdV equation based on the multi- symplectic theory of Bridges. Subsequently, in order to simulate the periodic wave solutions in terms of rational functions of the Jacobi elliptic functions derived from thegeneral solution, a semi-implicit multi-symplectic scheme is constructed that is equivalent 1：o the Preissmann scheme. From the results of the numerical experiments, we can con- clude that the multi-symplectic schemes can accurately sim- ulate the periodic wave solutions of the generalized （2＋1）- dimensional KdV-mKdV equation while preserve approxi- mately the conservation laws.
