Traditional Chinese Medicine Erhuang Suppository for Treatment of Persistent High-risk Human Papillomavirus Infection and Its Impact on Transcriptome of Uterine Cervix

Objective:High-risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV)infection is the chief cause of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)and cervical *** Erhuang suppository(EHS)is a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)prepared from realgar(As2S2),Coptidis rhizoma,alumen,and borneolum syntheticum and has been used for antiviral and antitumor ***,whether EHS can efficiently alleviate HR-HPV infection remains *** study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of EHS for the treatment of persistent HR-HPV infection in the uterine ***:In this study,we evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of EHS in a randomized controlled clinical trial with a 3-month ***,70 patients with persistent HR-HPV infection were randomly assigned to receive intravaginal administration of EHS or *** DNA,ThinPrep cytologic test(TCT),colposcopy,and safety evaluation were carried out after *** analysis was performed to compare transcriptome profiles before and after EHS treatment.A K14-HPV16 mouse model was generated to confirm the efficiency of ***:After 3 months,74.3％(26/35)of the patients in the treatment group were HPV negative,compared to 6.9％(2/29)in the placebo ***-throughput microarrays revealed distinct transcriptome profiles after *** differentially expressed genes were significantly enriched in complement activation,immune response,and apoptotic *** K14-HPV16 mouse model also validated the remarkable efficacy of ***:This study demonstrated that EHS is effective against HR-HPV infection and cervical ***,no obvious systemic toxicity was observed in patients during the *** superior efficacy and safety of EHS demonstrated its considerable value as a potential cost-effective drug for the treatment of HPV infection and HPV-related cervical diseases.

Effect of Third Interstitial Fluid on Adverse Outcomes in Patients with Severe Pre-eclampsia and Twin Pregnancy:A 5-year Single-center Retrospective Study

Objective This study aims to identify the effect of third interstitial fluid on adverse outcomes in twin pregnancies with severe pre-eclampsia,and explore the differences in bad ending between twins and *** The present retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients with severe pre-eclampsia,who delivered in Tongji Hospital,Wuhan,China,between 2017 and *** adverse outcomes in singleton and twin pregnancies with severe pre-eclampsia were initially ***,the diverse maternal and fetal consequences between singleton and twin pregnancies in patients with severe pre-eclampsia were compared after merging with the third interstitial *** A total of 709 patients were included for the present *** these patients,68 patients had twin pregnancies,and 641 patients had singleton *** rate of postpartum hemorrhage(2.81%vs.13.24%,P<0.001),and admission rate to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit(NICU)after birth(30.73%vs.63.24%,P=0.011)were significantly higher in twin *** neonatal weight of twins was statistically lower than singletons(1964.73±510.61 g vs.2142.92±731.25 g,P=0.008).For the groups with the third interstitial fluid,the delivery week(P=0.001)and rate of admission to the NICU after birth were significantly advanced in twin pregnancy group,when compared to singleton pregnancy group(P=0.032),and the length of hospital stay was shorter(P=0.044).Furthermore,there was no statistically significant difference between the twin pregnancy group and the singletony pregnancy group without the third interstitial *** The maternal and fetal adverse outcomes of patients with severe pre-eclampsia increased in twin pregnancies,when compared to singleton ***,when patients develop the third interstitial fluid,twin pregnancies would more likely lead to adverse fetal outcomes,when compared to singleton pregnancies,and there would be no significant difference in maternal adverse ***

Animal body size variation is of particular interest in evolutionary biology,but the genetic basis remains largely *** studies have shown the presence of two parallel evolutionary genetic clusters within the fish genus Epinephelus with evident divergence in body size,providing an excellent opportunity to investigate the genetic basis of body size variation in ***,we performed phylotranscriptomic analysis and reconstructed the phylogeny of 13 epinephelids originating from the South China *** genetic clades with an estimated divergence time of approximately 15.4 million years ago were correlated with large and small body size,respectively.A total of 180 rapidly evolving genes and two positively selected genes were identified between the two *** enrichment analyses of these candidate genes revealed distinct enrichment categories between the two *** pathways and genes may play important roles in body size variation in groupers through complex regulatory *** on our results,we speculate that the ancestors of the two divergent groups of groupers may have adapted to different environments through habitat selection,leading to genetic variations in metabolic patterns,organ development,and lifespan,resulting in body size divergence between the two locally adapted *** findings provide important insights into the genetic mechanisms underlying body size variation in groupers and species differentiation.

Optimizing hemicelluloses pre-extraction in eucalyptus kraft pulping:A pathway towards enhancing pulp mill biorefineries

A critical pathway towards enhancing pulp mill biorefineries is to integrate the extraction and utilization of hemicelluloses into the pulping ***,an industrial pre-extraction strategy for hemicelluloses targeting eucalyptus kraft pulping process was *** solution or pulping white liquor was used to pre-extract hemicelluloses before the actual pulping *** response surface methodology(RSM)technique was applied to investigate the most suitable conditions to maximize the yield of these hemicelluloses while simultaneously minimizing the damage to pulp yields and ***(105 to 155℃),alkali concentration(3%to 8%),sulfidity(20%to 30%)and retention time(19 to 221 min)were combined to evaluate their effects on hemicellulose yields and chemical *** optimal pre-extraction conditions identified in this work(5.75%NaOH concentration,25%sulfidity at 135℃for 60 min)successfully allowed recovering 4.8%of hemicelluloses(based on the wood dry mass)and limited damages to pulp yields and *** cellulose content in pulp can even be increased by about 10%.Hemicellulose emulsification properties were also evaluated,which were comparable to synthetic *** study provides an industrial pathway to effectively separate and utilize wood hemicelluloses from the pulping process,which has the potential to improve the economy and material utilization of pulp and paper mills.

Persymmetric adaptive polarimetric detection of subspace range-spread targets in compound Gaussian sea clutter

This paper focuses on the adaptive detection of range and Doppler dual-spread targets in non-homogeneous and nonGaussian sea *** sea clutter from two polarimetric channels is modeled as a compound-Gaussian model with different parameters,and the target is modeled as a subspace rangespread target *** persymmetric structure is used to model the clutter covariance matrix,in order to reduce the reliance on secondary data of the designed *** adaptive polarimetric persymmetric detectors are designed based on the generalized likelihood ratio test(GLRT),Rao test,and Wald *** the proposed detectors have constant falsealarm rate property with respect to the clutter texture,the speckle covariance *** results on simulated and measured data show that three adaptive detectors outperform the competitors in different clutter environments,and the proposed GLRT detector has the best detection performance under different parameters.
