Report:How many Chinese journals are included in the newly indexed 700 regional journals on Web of Science?

Based on the current news via Thomson Reuters "700 new regional journals in the world have been added to Web of Science since 2007",we conducted an investigation to find out that 43(6.1%) Chinese journals(including 6 journals from hong Kong region) are included. The results also show that up to now a total of about 153 Chinese journals(114 from China Mainland,11 from hong Kong and 28 from Taiwan) have been included by SCI and SSCI & AHCI.

Muddy water irrigation has been widely practiced in the Yellow River Basin for agricultural production and is an important method of economical and intensive utilization of water *** this study,the effects of sediment gradation,sand content,and soil moisture content on nitrogen(N)transformation were studied through a series of experimental *** results indicated that muddy water irrigation significantly affected agricultural soil physical and biological properties as well as N *** bulk density,total porosity,pH,and microbial enzyme activities significantly correlated with N transformation as affected by the interaction between sediment and soil *** addition generally increased the soil bulk density and reduced the soil porosity and pH significantly,and the optimum moisture for promotion of the N transformation rate was 80%of the water-filled pore ***,muddy water irrigation has a potentially long-term influence on agricultural N cycles in semi-arid regions of northwestern *** could provide a theoretical basis for scientific and rational use of muddy water for irrigation.

We investigated the potential hepatoprotective effect of Radix Bupleuri(RB) by inducing acute liver injury(ALI) in an animal model using acetaminophen(APAP) after pretreatment with RB aqueous extract for three consecutive days. Compared to those of the APAP group, the biochemical and histological results of the RB pretreatment group showed lower serum aspartate transaminase(AST) and alanine transaminase(ALT) levels as well as less liver damage. Pharmacokinetic study of the toxicity related marker acetaminophen-cysteine(APC) revealed a lower exposure level in rats, suggesting that RB alleviated APAP-induced liver damage by preventing glutathione(GSH) depletion. The results of cocktail approach showed significant inhibition of CYP2 E1 and CYP3 A activity. Further investigation revealed the increasing of CYP2 E1 and CYP3 A protein was significantly inhibited in pretreatment group,while no obvious effect on gene expression was found. Therefore, this study clearly demonstrates that RB exhibited significant protective action against APAP-induced acute live injury via pretreatment, and which is partly through inhibiting the increase of activity and translation of cytochrome P450 enzymes, rather than gene transcription.

The dispersibility of bio-molecules such as lecithins on the surface of ZnO nanowires are investigated for biosensor *** can be absorbed on an as-synthesized ZnO nanowire surface in the form of sub-micro sized clusters,while scattering well on those annealed under oxygen *** analysis reveals that the as-synthesized ZnO nanowires bear a super-hydrophobic surface,which convents to superhydrophilic after oxygen ***-principles calculations indicate that the adsorption energy of ZnO with water is about 0.2 eV at a distance of 2(A) when it is superhydrophilic,suggesting that lecithin can be absorbed on the hydrophilic surface stably at this distance and the bio-affinity can be enhanced under this condition.

BACKGROUND Liver injury is common and also can be fatal,particularly in severe or critical patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).AIM To conduct an in-depth investigation into the risk factors for liver injury and into the effective measures to prevent subsequent mortality *** A retrospective cohort study was performed on 440 consecutive patients with relatively severe COVID-19 between January 28 and March 9,2020 at Tongji Hospital,wuhan,*** on clinical features,laboratory parameters,medications,and prognosis were *** COVID-19-associated liver injury more frequently occurred in patients aged≥65 years,female patients,or those with other comorbidities,decreased lymphocyte count,or elevated D-dimer or serum ferritin(P<0.05).The disease severity of COVID-19 was an independent risk factor for liver injury(severe patients:Odds ratio[OR]=2.86,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.78-4.59;critical patients:OR=13.44,95%CI:7.21-25.97).The elevated levels of on-admission aspartate aminotransferase and total bilirubin indicated an increased mortality risk(P<0.001).Using intravenous nutrition or antibiotics increased the risk of COVID-19-associated liver *** drugs tended to be of assistance to treat the liver injury and improve the prognosis of patients with COVID-19-associated liver *** More intensive monitoring of aspartate aminotransferase or total bilirubin is recommended for COVID-19 patients,especially patients aged≥65 years,female patients,or those with other *** hepatotoxicity of antibiotics and intravenous nutrition should be alert for COVID-19 patients.

Effect of quenching condition on micro inhomogeneous structure of Al-Fe-Ce amorphous alloy

The microstructures of liquid and amorphous Al 90 Fe 5Ce 5 alloys were studied by X ray diffraction (XRD), and the crystalline behavior of the amorphous alloy was also investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The distinct pre peaks were found on the structure factors of the liquid and amorphous alloys. The quenching temperature affects the pre peak area, but does not affect its position. The reduction of quenching temperature decreases the crystallization temperature and the activation energy of the Al Fe Ce amorphous alloy. Quenched from 1 050 ℃, a novel structure with a fine dispersion of Al nanophase particles homogeneously distributed in the amorphous matrix was obtained. And the sensitivity of the Al Fe Ce amorphous alloy to the quenching temperature reflects the micro inhomogeneity of the melt.
