Urea-induced interfacial engineering enabling highly reversible aqueous zinc-ion battery

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AziBs)have been regarded as prospective rechargeable energy storage devices because of the high theoretical capacity and low redox potential of Zn ***,the uncontrollable formation of dendrites and the water-induced side reactions at the Zn/electrolyte interface,and the poor reversibility under a high current density(>2 mA·cm^(-2))and large area capacity(>2 mAh·cm^(-2))still limit the practical applications of ***,a strategy that can overcome these difficulties is urgently ***,we introduce an environmentally friendly and low-cost additive,namely urea,to the electrolyte of AziBs to induce uniform Zn deposition and suppress the side *** of the adsorption behavior,electrochemical characterization,and observations of the morphology revealed the interfacial modification induced by urea on the Zn/electrolyte interface,demonstrating its huge potential in ***,the long-term cycling stability(over2100 h)of a Zn/Zn symmetric cell under a high current density of 5 mA·cm^(-2)and a capacity of 5 mAh·cm^(-2)was achieved with a 1 mol·L^(-1)ZnSO_(4)electrolyte with the urea ***,the assembled Zn/NH_4V_4O_(10)full cell with urea exhibited excellent cycling performance and an outstanding average Coulombic efficiency of 99.98%.These results indicate that this is a low-cost and effective additive strategy for realizing highly reversible AziBs.

This paper considers the random coefficient autoregressive model with time-functional variance noises,hereafter the RCA-TFV *** first establish the consistency and asymptotic normality of the conditional least squares estimator for the constant *** semiparametric least squares estimator for the variance of the random coefficient and the nonparametric estimator for the variance function are constructed,and their asymptotic results are reported.A simulation study is presented along with an analysis of real data to assess the performance of our method in finite samples.

A greater number of compact and reliable electrostatic capacitors are in demand due to the Internet of Things boom and rapidly growing complex and integrated electronic systems,continuously promoting the development of high-energy-density ceramic-based *** significant successes have been achieved in obtaining high energy densities in lead-based ferroelectric ceramics,the utilization of lead-containing ceramies has been restricted due to environmental and health hazards of ***-free ferroelectric ceramics have garnered tremendous attention and are expected to replace lead-based ceramics in the near ***,the energy density of lead-free ceramics is still lagging behind that of lead-containing ***,severely limiting their *** efforts have been made to enhance the energy storage performance of lead-free ceramics using multi-scale design strategies,and exciting progress has been achieved in the past *** review briefly discusses the energy storage mechanism and fundamental characteristics of a dielectric capacitor,summarizes and compares the state-of-the-art design strategies for high-energy-density lead-free ceramics,and highlights several critical issues and requirements for industrial *** prospects and challenges of lead-free ceramics for energy storage applications are also discussed.

Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)catalysts are the key core materials that determine the performance of fuel cells,metal-air batteries,electrolytic water decomposition,and other *** this work,a green lignin-based non-precious metal OER catalyst was prepared by a simple ***,c arboxylated lignin was used to complex Ni and Co in situ,and then they were placed with sodium hypophosphite in the same tube furnace for upstream and downstream high-temperature calcination to construct a lignin carbon-based Ni-Co bimetallic OER catalyst(NiCoP@C).The synthesized catalyst is a porous bimetallic phosphide with a three-dimensional network structure and high-density electrochemical active ***@C exhibited favorable catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)with overpotential of 280 mV at 10 mA·cm~(-2)and a Tafel slope of 77 mV·dec~(-1).Additionally,it exhibited remarkable durability during *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that by leveraging the distinctive structure of transition metal phosphide nanoparticles incorporated into a reticulated substrate,the NiCoP@C catalyst offered an increased number of active sites for OER catalysis,significantly enhancing its stability during practical *** present study broadens the utilization pathways of biomass to"turn waste into treasure,"aligning the development concept of green sustainable development.

Regulating luminescent dynamics of lanthanide-based luminescent materials via external stimuli is of great significance in the fields of optical thermometry and high-level ***,it is still a huge challenge to realize multimodal emissions with tunable color outputs from a single activator in simple structures via smart dynamic control of photon transition ***,we present a mechanistic strategy to achieve multimodal luminescence of Er^(3+)activators with color-switchable outputs in a non-core-shell *** the control of excitation dynamics(λ_(ex)=980,808,1532,377 nm),the population among the intermediate en ergy levels of Er^(3+)and the interaction between Er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)could be precisely modulated through energy transfer and migration processes,leading to the generation of colortunable multimodal luminescence upon diverse excitation modes(non-steady-state,single-/dual-wavelength steady,thermal activation).Inspired by its special luminescent performance,the as-obtained material exhibits great potential in noncontact thermometry,multimodal anticounterfeiting,and high-capacity information encryption by performing a series of proof-of-concept *** findings might provide a conceptual model to modulate the luminescent dynamics in a simple-structured system for the generation of color-adjustable multimodal emissions,which is convenient for the development of advanced luminescent materials toward versatile cuttingedge applications.

Reduced Spring Precipitation Bias and Associated Physical Causes over South China in FGOALS-f3 Climate Models:Experiments with the Horizontal Resolutions

Considerable spring precipitation occurs over South China(SC),a region that is adjacent to large-scale Asian topography and *** reasonable simulation is crucial for improving regional climate *** study investigates spring precipitation biases over SC and their possible causes in atmosphere-only and coupled Flexible Global Ocean–Atmosphere–Land System finite-volume version 3(FGOALS-f3) models with different horizontal *** performance of spring precipitation simulation over SC varies across different FGOALS-f3 model versions,with the best reproducibility in the high-resolution coupled model(25 km).In the low-resolution atmosphere-only model(100–125 km),the precipitation dry bias over SC is closely linked to overestimated surface sensible forcing over the eastern Tibetan Plateau(TP),which weakens the subtropical anticyclone over the western Pacific(SAWP) through regional circulation *** contrast,the high-resolution atmosphere-only model further amplifies surface thermal forcing in the Asian continents,causing intensified land–sea thermal contrast between the Southeast Asian continents and western Pacific,enhanced southerly winds and SAWP,and increased water vapor transport into ***,the reduced middle–high level cold bias over 10°–30°N in the high-resolution atmosphere-only model intensifies the East Asian westerly jet and ascent over SC,leading to enhanced spring precipitation *** high-resolution coupled model simulation not only reduces sea surface cold bias over the Bay of Bengal,thus intensifying the Indian–Burma trough and strengthening low-level water vapor transport into SC,but also enhances ascent over *** a result,the high-resolution coupled model better reproduces the magnitude and pattern of spring precipitation over SC than its atmosphere-only *** with low-resolution models,the domain-mean spring precipitation dry bias decreases by 11.2% over SC in the high-resolution atmosphere-only mod

The characteristics and sensitivity of solidification cracks in peritectic steels were investigated using directional solidifi-cation *** cracks were observed in both hypoperitectic steels(12CrlMoV,15CrMo)and hyper-peritectic steel(20CrMo)during solidification at growth velocities of 15,50,and 80 pm/*** the dendritic boundaries,sulphide precipitates were found,promoting crack *** on the statistical analysis of interdendritic cracks in peritectic steels,the area ratio(RA)of interdendritic cracks in a directional solidification structure was proposed to evaluate the crack sensitivity of peritectic ***,the crack sensitivities of peritectic steels(12CrlMoV,15CrMo,and 20CrMo)were tested,evaluated,and compared with the surface crack rates of three types of steels produced from a steel *** results demonstrated that RA was in good agreement with that of the steel plant,and the crack sensitivity of 12CrlMoV steel was the strongest,followed by that of 15CrMo and 20CrMo ***,RA can be used to evaluate the crack sensitivity of peritectic steel.

Stable carbon isotope composition and intrinsic water use efficiency in plants along an altitudinal gradient on the eastern slope of Yulong Snow Mountain, China

Background Stable carbon isotope composition(δ13Cp) can be used to estimate the changes in intrinsic water use efficiency（iWUE） in plants,which helps us to better understand plants' response strategies to climate *** study focused on the variations in δ13Cpand iWUE for the different life-form plants（i.e.,herbs,shrubs,and trees）along an altitudinal gradient（3300,3600,3900,4100,4300,and 4500 m） on the eastern slope of Yulong Snow Mountain,southeastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet *** response mechanisms of δ13Cpand iWUE for different life-form plants to altitude were thoroughly analyzed in this mountain *** The δ13Cpvalues of plants on the eastern slopes of Yulong Snow Mountain ranged from-30.4‰to-26.55‰,with a mean of-28.02‰,indicating a dominance of *** δ13Cpand iWUE values varied among different life-form plants in the order of herbs> shrubs> trees,particularly in 3600,3900,and 4300 ***δ13Cpand iWUE values for herbs and shrubs increased with altitude and were mainly controlled by air *** two parameters for trees exhibited a trend of initial decrease followed by an increase with *** 3900 m,the δ13Cpand iWUE values decreased with altitude,influenced by soil ***,above 3900 m,the two parameters increased with altitude,mainly regulated by air *** addition,iWUE was positively correlated with leaf P content but negatively correlated with leaf N:P ratio,especially for herbs and trees,suggesting that P plays a key role in modulating iWUE in this *** The diffe rentiated responses of water availability for different life-form plants to a higher altitudinal gradient are regulated by air temperature,soil moisture,and leaf P content in the Yulong Snow *** results provide valuable insights into understanding the wate r-carbon relationships in high-altitude ecosystems.
