As a highly invasive carcinoma,esophageal cancer(EC)was the eighth most prevalent malignancy and the sixth leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide in *** squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is the major histological subtype of EC,and its incidence and mortality rates are decreasing *** to the lack of specific early symptoms,ESCC patients are usually diagnosed with advanced-stage disease with a poor prognosis,and the incidence and mortality rates are still high in many countries,especially in ***,enormous challenges still exist in the management of ESCC,and novel strategies are urgently needed to further decrease the incidence and mortality rates of *** the key molecular mechanisms underlying ESCC pathogenesis have not been fully elucidated,certain promising biomarkers are being investigated to facilitate clinical *** the advent and advancement of highthroughput technologies,such as genomics,proteomics and metabolomics,valuable biomarkers with high sensitivity,specificity and stability could be identified for ***,we aimed to determine the epidemiological features of ESCC in different regions of the world,especially in China,and focused on novel molecular biomarkers associated with ESCC screening,early diagnosis and prognosis prediction.

●AIM:To evaluate the role of semaphorin 7A(Sema7A)and its associated regulatory mechanisms in modulating the barrier function of cultured human corneal epithelial cells(HCEs).●METHODS:Barrier models of HCEs were treated with recombinant human Sema7A at concentrations of 0,125,250,or 500 ng/mL for 24,48,or 72h in *** electrical resistance(TEER)as well as Dextran-fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)permeability assays were conducted to assess barrier *** quantify tight junctions(TJs)such as occludin and zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)at the mRNA level,reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)analysis was *** was used to examine the activity of the nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway and the production of TJs *** analyses were employed to localize the ***-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and RT-PCR were utilized to observe changes in interleukin(IL)-1β*** investigate the role of NF-κB signaling activation and IL^(-1)βin Sema7A’s anti-barrier mechanism,we employed 0.1μmol/L IκB kinase 2(IKK2)inhibitor IV or 500 ng/mL IL^(-1)receptor(IL-1R)antagonist.●RESULTS:Treatment with Sema7A resulted in decreased TEER and increased permeability of Dextran-FITC in HCEs through down-regulating mRNA and protein levels of TJs in a time-and dose-dependent manner,as well as altering the localization of ***,Sema7A stimulated the activation of inhibitor of kappa B alpha(IκBα)and expression of IL-1β.The anti-barrier function of Sema7A was significantly suppressed by treatment with IKK2 inhibitor IV or IL-1R antagonists.●CONCLUSION:Sema7A disrupts barrier function through its influence on NF-κB-mediated expression of TJ proteins,as well as the expression of IL-1β.These findings suggest that Sema7A could be a potential therapeutic target for the diseases in corneal epithelium.

The highly reversible insertion/extraction of large-radius K^+into electrode materials remains a tough goal,especially for con version-type ***,we design a current collector-integrated electrode(N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu) as an advanced anode for potassium-ion battery(PIBs).The conductive CoSe/CoSe_(2) heterojunction with rich Se vacancy defects,conductive sp^2 N-doped carbon layer,and the elastic copper foil matrix can greatly accelerate the electron transfer and enhance the structural ***,the well-designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu current collector-integrated electrode displays enhanced potassium storage performance with regard to a high capacity(325.1 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1) after 200cycles),an exceptional rate capability(223.5 mAh·g^(-1) at2000 mA·g^(-1)),and an extraordinary long-term cycle stability(a capacity fading of only 0.019% per cycle over1200 cycles at 2000 mA·g^(-1)).Impressively,ex situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM) characterizations prove that the elastic structure of copper foil is merged into the cleverly designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu heterostructure,which buffers the deformation of structure and volume and greatly promotes the cycle life during the potassium/depotassium process.

4D-MAP:Multipath Adaptive Packet Scheduling for Live Streaming over QUIC

In recent years,live streaming has become a popular application,which uses TCP as its primary transport *** UDP Internet Connections(QUIC)protocol opens up new opportunities for live ***,how to leverage QUIC to transmit live videos has not been studied *** paper first investigates the achievable quality of experience(QoE)of streaming live videos over TCP,QUIC,and their multipath extensions Multipath TCP(MPTCP)and Multipath QUIC(MPQUIC).We observe that MPQUIC achieves the best performance with bandwidth aggregation and transmission ***,network fluctuations may cause heterogeneous paths,high path loss,and band-width degradation,resulting in significant QoE *** by the above observations,we investigate the multipath packet scheduling problem in live streaming and design 4D-MAP,a multipath adaptive packet scheduling scheme over ***,a linear upper confidence bound(LinUCB)-based online learning algorithm,along with four novel scheduling mechanisms,i.e.,Dispatch,Duplicate,Discard,and Decompensate,is proposed to conquer the above problems.4D-MAP has been evaluated in both controlled emulation and real-world networks to make comparison with the state-of-the-art multipath transmission *** results reveal that 4D-MAP outperforms others in terms of improving the QoE of live streaming.

BACKGROUND Resistance to clarithromycin(CLA)and levofloxacin(LFX)of Helicobacter pylori(***)is increasing in severity,and successful eradication is ***,the eradication success rate has greatly declined,leaving a large number of patients with previous treatment *** To investigate secondary resistance rates,explore risk factors for antibiotic resistance,and assess the efficacy of susceptibility-guided *** We recruited 154 subjects positive for Urea Breath Test who attended The First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University between July 2022 and April *** underwent a string test after an overnight *** gastric juice was obtained and transferred to vials containing storage ***,DNA extraction and the specific DNA amplification were performed using quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR).Demographic information was also analyzed as part of the *** on these results,the participants were administered susceptibility-guided *** was compared with that of the empiric treatment *** A total of 132 individuals tested positive for the *** ureA gene by qPCR *** resistance rate reached a high level of 82.6%(n=109),LFX resistance rate was 69.7%(n=92)and dual resistance was 62.1%(n=82).Gastric symptoms[odds ratio(OR)=2.782;95%confidence interval(95%CI):1.076-7.194;P=0.035]and rural residence(OR=5.152;95%CI:1.407-18.861;P=0.013)were independent risk factors for secondary resistance to CLA and LFX,respectively.A total of 102 and 100 individuals received susceptibility-guided therapies and empiric treatment,*** antibiotic susceptibility-guided treatment and empiric treatment groups achieved successful eradication rates of 75.5%(77/102)and 59.0%(59/411)by the intention-to-treat(ITT)analysis and 90.6%(77/85)and 70.2%(59/84)by the per-protocol(PP)analysis,*** eradication rates of these two treatment strategies were significantly

Low-temperature,ambient processing of high-quality CsPbBr_(3)films is demanded for scalable production of efficient,low-cost carbon-electrode perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Herein,we demonstrate a crystal orientation engineering strategy of PbBr_(2)precursor film to accelerate its reaction with CsBr precursor during two-step sequential deposition of CsPbBr_(3)*** a novel strategy is proceeded by adding CsBr species into PbBr_(2)precursor,which can tailor the preferred crystal orientation of PbBr_(2)film from[020]into[031],with CsBr additive staying in the film as CsPb_(2)Br_(5)*** calculations show that the reaction energy barrier of(031)planes of PbBr_(2)with CsBr is lower about 2.28 eV than that of(O2O)***,CsPbBr_(3)films with full coverage,high purity,high crystallinity,micro-sized grains can be obtained at a low temperature of 150℃.Carbon-electrode PSCs with these desired CsPbBr_(3)films yield the record-high efficiency of 10.27%coupled with excellent operation ***,the 1 cm^(2)area one with the superior efficiency of 8.00%as well as the flexible one with the champion efficiency of 8.27%and excellent mechanical bending characteristics are also achieved.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction（ENRR） for ammonia synthesis is a promising strategy to relieve nitration contamination,as well as an alternative to the Haber-Bosch *** blue analogs（PBAs） are expected to be an electrocatalytic material with superior performance owing to their abundant active sites and open channel ***,most reported PBA materials possess low nitrate conversion and ammonia yield rates,which has led to a hindrance in their research of ***,CuMn-PBA-shelled nanoboxes（CuMn-PBA SNBs） synthesized through tannic acid etching and cation exchange approaches are demonstrated for efficient ammonia *** optimal CuMn-PBA SNBs electrode achieves a high nitrate conversion of 91.33% and ammonia selectivity of 98.87% in a 0.2 mol·L-1Na2SO4solution with100×10-6NO3--N at-1.4 V ***,the CuMn-PBA SNB s electrode exhibits exceptional stability throughout a 30 h electrocatalytic *** outstanding electrochemical performance is attributed to the unique hollow nanobox structure with abundant active sites and high-throughput transport pathways for ions' aspects.

Extreme droughts are anticipated to have detrimental impacts on forest ecosystems,especially in water-limited regions,due to the influence of climate ***,considerable uncertainty remains regarding the patterns in species-specific responses to extreme ***,we conducted a study integrating dendrochronology and remote sensing methods to investigate the mosaic-distributed maple-oak(native)natural forests and poplar plantations(introduced)in the Horqin Sandy Land,Northeast *** assessed the impacts of extreme droughts on tree performances by measuring interannual variations in radial growth and vegetation *** results showed that precipitation and self-calibrated palmer drought severity index(scPDSI)are the major factors influencing tree-ring width index(RWI)and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI).The severe droughts between 2000 and 2004 resulted in reduced RWI in the three studied tree species as well as led to NDVI reductions in both the maple-oak natural forests and the poplar *** RWI reached the nadir during the2000-2004 severe droughts and remained at low levels two years after the severe drought,creating a legacy *** contrast to the lack of significant correlation between RWI and scPDSI,NDVI exhibited a significant positive correlation with scPDSI indicating the greater sensitivity of canopy performance to droughts than radial ***,interspecific differences in RWI and NDVI responses were observed,with the fast-growing poplar species experiencing a more significant RWI decrease and more negative NDVI anomaly during severe droughts than native species,highlighting the species-specific trade-offs between drought resilience and growth *** study emphasizes the importance of combining tree-level radial growth with landscape-scale canopy remote sensing to understand forest resilience and *** study improves our understanding of forest responses to extreme drought and highlights species di
