Magnetic property of loess strata recorded by Kansu profile in Tianshan Mountains

Kansu （KS） profile is located in the east of Yili basin, western Xinjiang, where typical loess sediments are distributed. The magnetic parameters （such as IRM, SIRM SOFT, and M） and grain size in the KS profile were analyzed in the study. The results showed that the magnetic property of KS loess is dominated by ferrimagnetic minerals, such as magnetite and maghemite. Antiferromagnetic and superparamagnetic minerals also exist in the profile, but had less impact on magnetic susceptibility. Compared with the typical loess sediments of the central Loess Plateau in China, the strata of Kansu profile contained more magnetic minerals and hard magnetic minerals. The analysis of grain size for magnetic minerals indicated that the properties of loess and paleosol were respectively dominated by PSD/MD and coarse SSD magnetite. The research found that the contents of magnetic minerals in loess and paleosol sequences in Kansu profile were similar, but the proportion of fine grained magnetite and soft magnetic minerals were varying, which implies a positive relationship between the value of magnetic susceptibility and intensity of pedogenesis.

MoS2 has emerged for catalyzing the hydrogen evolution *** notable strategies have been developed to downsize the MoS2 particles and expose more active ***,the restacking issue,which reduces the exposure degree,has rarely been taken into ***,we report on a facile proton-induced fast hydrothermal approach to produce size-controllable MoS2 nanocatalysts and demonstrate that along the varying of sheet sizes,there is a trade-off between the intrinsic catalytic activity(mainly determined by the unsaturated sulfur on the sheet edges)and the active edge accessibility(influenced by the assembly structure).The size-optimized catalyst delivers a high performance of a low overpotential of~200 mV at 10 mA/cm^(2),a Tafel slope of 46.3 mV/dec,and a stable working state,which is comparable to the recent notable *** findings will provide a pathway for its large-scale application and enhance the water electrolysis performance.

Accurate methods for identifying pelvic lymph node metastasis(LNM)of prostate cancer(PCa)prior to surgery are still *** aimed to investigate the predictive value of peripheral monocyte count(PMC)for LNM of PCa in this *** hundred and ninety-eight patients from three centers were divided into a training set(n=125)and a validation set(n=173).In the training set,the independent predictors of LNM were analyzed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses,and the optimal cutoff value was calculated by the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)*** sensitivity and specificity of the optimal cutoff were authenticated in the validation ***,a nomogram based on the PMC was constructed for predicting *** analyses of the training cohort demonstrated that clinical T stage,preoperative Gleason score,and PMC were independent risk factors for *** subsequent ROC analysis showed that the optimal cutoff value of PMC for diagnosing LNM was 0.405×10^(9)l^(−1)with a sensitivity of 60.0%and a specificity of 67.8%.In the validation set,the optimal cutoff value showed significantly higher sensitivity than that of conventional magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)(0.619 vs 0.238,P<0.001).The nomogram involving PMC,free prostate-specific antigen(fPSA),clinical T stage,preoperative Gleason score,and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio(MLR)was generated,which showed a robust predictive capacity for predicting LNM before the *** results indicated that PMC as a single agent,or combined with other clinical parameters,showed a robust predictive capacity for LNM in *** can be employed as a complementary factor for the decision of whether to conduct pelvic lymph node dissection.

Four new 2D donor–acceptor conjugated polymers were designed and *** new polymers comprised fluorenealt-triphenylamine or carbazole-alt-triphenylamine as the backbones,and pendants with 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole(BT)or naphtho[1,2-c:5,6-c]bis[1,2,5]thiadiazole(NT)in a triphenylamine unit as the side *** changing the acceptor BT for a stronger electron-withdrawing unit of NT moiety in the side chain,the energy levels,absorption spectra,band gaps,and charge-transport abilities of the resultant polymers could be effectively *** heterojunction solar cells with these polymers as the electron donors and(6,6)-phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester as the electron acceptor exhibited high open-circuit voltage(more than 0.8 e V).The power conversion efficiency can be improved from 1.37%to 3.52%by replacing the BT with an NT moiety,which indicates that introducing NT as the side-chain building block can be an effective strategy to construct efficient 2D conjugated polymers for PSCs.

In this paper,we propose a convolutional neural network（CNN）based on deep learning method for land cover classification of synthetic aperture radar（SAR）*** proposed method consists of convolutional layers,pooling layers,a full connection layer and an output *** method acquires high-level abstractions for SAR data by using a hierarchical architecture composed of multiple non-linear transformations such as convolutions and *** feature maps produced by convolutional layers are subsampled by pooling layers and then are converted into a feature vector by the full connection *** feature vector is then used by the output layer with softmax regression to perform land cover *** multi-layer method replaces hand-engineered features with backpropagation（BP）neural network algorithm for supervised feature learning,hierarchical feature extraction and land cover classification of SAR ***-2 ultra-fine beam high resolution HH-SAR images acquired in the rural urban fringe of the Greater Toronto Area（GTA）are selected for this *** experiment results show that the accuracy of our classification method is about90%which is higher than that of nearest neighbor（NN）.

The timing of reproduction can significantly affect an offspring＇s fitness, thereby also influencing the fitness of the parents, especially in species inhabiting extreme environments, such as deserts. Female reproductive cycles in Phrynocephalus przewalskii were studied from April to September 2008. Significant cycles of gonadal volume were found in all studied populations and the cycles were similar among the various populations. Females began vitellogenesis in April and contained oviductal eggs form May to June. Gonad volume decreased significantly in July and reached minimum volume from August to September. The follicular growth was negatively correlated with increasing precipitation and temperature in all populations. Hatching occurs during summer and early fall, when most of the annual rainfall occurs. Mean clutch size based on all populations was 2.7 ± 0.9 SE （n = 71）.
