Contrast-enhanced ultrasound manifestations of synchronous combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Synchronous combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma(CHC)and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is very rare,with few literature reports and poor clinical outcomes associated with the *** resection is the main treatment,which makes the preoperative diagnosis very ***,due to imaging manifestations overlapping with HCC,diagnosis of this type of synchronous cancer is challenging and it tends to be misdiagnosed as multiple ***,we report the contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)manifestations of a case of synchronous CHC and HCC,aiming at adding to the understanding of this *** displayed exquisite vascularity and tissue perfusion in real time with good spatial and temporal resolution and more accurately reflect tumor washin and washout times than contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)in this *** SUMMARY The patient was a 69-year-old female with a 20-year history of chronic hepatitis *** to months of epigastric pain and anorexia,she reffered to our hospital for *** days before hospitalization,abdominal magnetic resonance imaging performed at another hospital detected a space-occupying lesion in the *** her hospitalization,laboratory tests showed elevated alpha-fetoprotein and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 *** suspicious liver lesions located in S4 and S6,respectively,were identified in a cirrhotic background by abdominal contrast-enhanced CT(CECT).Furthermore,the lesion in S4 and S6 were detected by CEUS and assigned to CEUS LI-RADS 5 and M categories,*** patient underwent tumor radical ***-operative pathology confirmed the S4 and S6 lesions to be HCC and CHC,respectively.A newly-found suspicious liver nodule with potential malignancy was detected in liver S1 by both CEUS and CECT 7 mo after *** The CEUS characteristics of CHC and HCC are *** features in combination with clinical information could help in effective diagnosis,clinical decisio

Effect of Water Absorption on the Impact Properties of Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites

In this paper, the effects of test temperatures and time on the impact damage behavior of unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites, immersed in pure water, on a pendulum impact tester, was studied. The results show that immersion in liquids has a significant effect on the impact resistance of the unidirectional composite material. It is obvious that after immersion, the mass of the material increases. The fracture initiation forces as well as the fracture initiation energy decrease as the immersion time lengthens. Moreover, the higher the temperature and the longer the time are, the more the crack propagation energy and the ductility index will be. Immersion makes the fracture mode change from the dominant fiber fracture into dominant delamination. All in all, immersion decreases the impact resistance of the composites and causes the fracture mode to change.

An integrated approach to evaluating the coupling coordination degree between low-carbon development and air quality in Chinese cities

Collaborative governance between ecological environment and climate change is a novel signature in China's policy agenda. However, such coordination remains understudied, especially at the local level. Using the principal component analysis, entropy evaluation methods, and the Coupling Coordination Degree Model (CCDM), we evaluated the level of coordination between carbon and air quality mitigation from 34 low-carbon pilot cities in China. We also illustrated the mechanism and policy formation that leads to different coupling patterns at the local level using three case studies. We found that most pilot cities perform a medium level of coupling coordination between low carbon development and air quality. The result reveals that most low-carbon pilot cities score relatively well in low-carbon development. Further, there is a significant cleavage in air quality between cities in the North and those in the South, indicating pilot cities in the South coordinate better than those in the North. In particular, pilot programs in the Southwest and Southeast coastal region perform well in collaborative governance, while the Beijing−Tianjin−Hebei region is rated poorly because of the gap between air quality and low carbon development. Also, we found that the same low-carbon policy might have heterogeneous effects on different air pollutants and across different regions. The local government should adopt low-carbon development policies that address local level specific environmental and economic conditions to maximize their air pollution mitigation benefits.

Orbit control strategy for Lagrange point orbits based on an analytical method

The periodic or quasi-periodic orbits around collinear Lagrange points present many properties that are advantageous for space missions. These Lagrange point orbits are exponentially unstable. On the basis of an analytical method, an orbit control strategy that is designed to eliminate the dominant unstable components of Lagrange point orbits is developed. The proposed strategy enables the derivation of the analytical expression of nonlinear control force. The control parameter of this strategy can be arbitrarily selected provided that the parameter is considerably lower than the negative eigenvalue of motion equations, and that the energy required keeps the same order of magnitude. The periodic or quasi-periodic orbit of controlled equations remains near the periodic or quasi-periodic orbit of uncontrolled equations.

Nanometer perovskite-type complex oxide LaMnO3 with average size of 18.7nm was prepared by sol-gel method, and it exhibited much higher catelytic activity for complete oxidation of methane than that of LaMnO3 with large particle size. The increasing of catulytic activity may be attributed to the increasing of surface area and the change of surface structure for nanometer LaMnO3.

胆汁酸(bile acid,BA)作为胆汁重要的两性固醇类物质,可通过与受体、肠道菌群的相互作用调节糖脂代谢及稳态、肠道微生态、肠道屏障、炎症、免疫系统和神经系统等生理功能,影响机体代谢和营养健康。本文综述主要新型功能性BA的合成通路,系统总结主要功能性BA的功能活性、化学合成和生物转化研究进展。此外,归纳新型BA(异脱氧胆酸、异石胆酸、异别脱氧胆酸、异别石胆酸)功能性研究,以及新型BA生物转化酶的微生物来源、催化性质及其应用于BA合成的潜力。展望功能性BA在食品和医药等领域的应用潜力,为新型功能性BA的合成转化及综合应用提供一定参考。

A novel global optimization method of truss topology

This paper proposes a global topology optimization algorithm based on subset simulation for the singular optimum problem subject to stress constraints of trusses. The constraints are handled by a fitness function which reflects their degree of violation. The rational and global topology results are guaranteed by the judgment of the samples’ rationality and the Metropolis-Hasting algorithm. Three examples show that the established method can quickly reduce the searching region to the feasible region and converge to the global optimum precisely enough for the singular optimum problem.

Rural-urban Migration, Rural Household Income and Local Geographical Contexts——A Case of Northwestern Guangxi, China

This paper aims to examine New Economics of Labor Migration (NELM) in the northwestern Guangxi, China and investigate the relationships among rural-urban migration, rural household income and local geographical contexts. Stratified sampling and typical case study were adopted and 236 questionnaires were collected from four vil- lages, Daxin, Lixin, Longhe and Yongchang. We analyzed the rural-urban migration rate, household income and local geographical factors, focusing on the ratio of remittance income to total household income. Data descriptions and sta- tistical methods, such as Pearson Chi-square test, Contingency coefficient, Eta, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, multiple comparisons (LSD test, Tamhane T2, Dunnett T3 and Dunnet C test) were used. The results are as follows. Rural households’ income is diversified in survey villages so the motivation of rural-urban migration in the study area can be partly explained by NELM. The migration rate of households (the percentage of households with migrants in survey households) in survey villages varies from 50% to 86%, while the proportion of remittance income to house- hold income is in the range of 30% to 80%. In the village of Yongchang, with the least average arable land area per household, the remittance income plays a vital role in household income (80%). And the statistical findings show that the proportion is significantly and negatively correlated with arable land area per household. The conclusion is that di- rect effect of migration, i.e., the contribution of remittance to household income, is negatively correlated with the con- tribution of resources to local income.

Enolase is a conserved cytoplasmic metalloenzyme existing universally in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic *** enzyme can also locate on the cell surface and bind to plasminogen,via which contributing to the mucosal surface localization of the bacterial pathogens and assisting the invasion into the host *** functions of the eukaryotic enzymes on the cell surface expression(including T cells,B cells,neutrophils,monocytoes,neuronal cells and epithelial cells)are not *** suis serotype 2(*** 2,SS2)is an important zoonotic pathogen which has recently caused two large-scale outbreaks in southern China with severe streptococcal toxic shock syndrome(STSS)never seen before in human *** recently identified the SS2 enolase as an important protective antigen which could protect mice from fatal *** 2 *** this study,a 2.4-angstrom structure of the SS2 enolase is solved,revealing an octameric arrangement in the *** further demonstrated that the enzyme exists exclusively as an octamer in solution via a sedimentation *** results indicate that the octamer is the biological unit of SS2 enolase at least in vitro and most likely in vivo as *** is,to our knowledge,the first comprehensive characterization of the SS2 enolase octamer both structurally and biophysically,and the second octamer enolase structure in addition to that of Streptococcus *** also investigated the plasminogen binding property of the SS2 enzyme.
