Pd/silicalite-1: An highly active catalyst for the oxidative removal of toluene

Catalytic combustion is thought as an efficient and economic pathway to remove volatile organic compounds, and its critical issue is the development of high-performance catalytic materials. In this work, we used the in situ synthesis method to prepare the silicalite-1(S-1)-supported Pd nanoparticles(NPs). It is found that the as-prepared catalysts displayed a hexagonal prism morphology and a surface area of 390-440 m^(2)/g. The sample(0.28Pd/S-1-H)derived after reduction at 500°C in 10 vol% H_(2)showed the best catalytic activity for toluene combustion(T50%= 180℃ and T90%= 189℃ at a space velocity of 40,000 m L/(g·hr), turnover frequency(TOFPd) at 160℃ = 3.46 × 10^(-3)sec^(-1), and specific reaction rate at 160℃ = 63.8μmol/(gPd·sec)), with the apparent activation energy(41 k J/mol) obtained over the bestperforming 0.28Pd/S-1-H sample being much lower than those(51-70 k J/mol) obtained over the other samples(0.28Pd/S-1-A derived from calcination at 500℃ in air, 0.26Pd/S-1-im derived from the impregnation route, and 0.27Pd/ZSM-5-H prepared after reduction at 500℃ in 10 vol% H_(2)). Furthermore, the 0.28Pd/S-1-H sample possessed good thermal stability and its partial deactivation due to CO_(2) or H_(2)O introduction was reversible, but SO_(2) addition resulted in an irreversible deactivation. The possible pathways of toluene oxidation over 0.28Pd/S-1-H was toluene → p-methylbenzoquinone → maleic anhydride, benzoic acid, benzaldehyde → carbon dioxide and water. We conclude that the good dispersion of Pd NPs, high adsorption oxygen species concentration, large toluene adsorption capacity, strong acidity,and more Pd~0 species were responsible for the good catalytic performance of 0.28Pd/S-1-H.

Metal 2-Hydroxy-1-Naphthaldehyde Thiosemicarbazone (Me-HNT) Complexes-A New Kind of Biomimic Enzyme Catalyst

Metal (Me=Fe(III), Mo(VI), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cu(II)) 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde thiosemicarbazone complexes (MeHNT) were synthesized and used as mimic-enzyme catalysts to mimic the active group of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The results showed that Fe-HNT, Mo-HNT are effective catalysts, which have similar catalytic activity as HRP. The sequence of catalytic activities of tested biomimic peroxidas is Mo-HNT > Fe-HNT > Zn-HNT > Ni-HNT > Mn-HNT. Among them, Fe-HNT is used as a mimic-enzyme catalyst in determination of ascorbic acid and glucose by coupling the catalytic reaction of glucose oxidase.

Correlating the electronic structures of metallic/semiconducting MoTe2 interface to its atomic structures

Contact interface properties are important in determining the performances of devices that are based on atomically thin two-dimensional（2D） materials, especially for those with short channels. Understanding the contact interface is therefore important to design better devices. Herein, we use scanning transmission electron microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy, and first-principles calculations to reveal the electronic structures within the metallic（1T）-semiconducting（2H） MoTe;2;coplanar phase boundary across a wide spectral range and correlate its properties to atomic structures. We find that the 2 H-MoTe;2;excitonic peaks cross the phase boundary into the 1 T phase within a range of approximately 150 nm. The1 T-MoTe;2;crystal field can penetrate the boundary and extend into the 2H phase by approximately two unit-cells. The plasmonic oscillations exhibit strong angle dependence, that is a red-shift of π +σ（approximately 0.3–1.2 e V） occurs within 4 nm at 1 T/2 H-MoTe;2;boundaries with large tilt angles, but there is no shift at zero-tilted boundaries. These atomic-scale measurements reveal the structure–property relationships of the 1 T/2 H-MoTe;2;boundary, providing useful information for phase boundary engineering and device development based on 2 D materials.

Compact 2×2 Multi-Mode Interference Couplers with Uneven Splitting-Ratios Based on Silicon Nanowires

Two types of uneven splitting-ratio 2×2 multi−mode interference(MMI)couplers based on silicon nanowires are designed,fabricated and *** splitting ratios are 85:15 and 72:28,*** devices have compact sizes and low excess *** footprints of the rectangular MMI region are only about 3µm×18µm and 3µm×14µm,and the minimum excess losses(ELs)are 1.30 dB and 0.82 *** measured splitting−ratios are consistent with the designed *** on their performance,these 2×2 MMI couplers are suitable candidates for the coupling section of microring resonators where a large resonance bandwidth is required for high speed signal *** uneven splitting capability also provides a convenient way to further optimize the Q factor and the bandwidth of the resonator.

Study of measurements of air velocity transducer deriving average air velocity of roadway based on one-dimensional linear regression

One-dimensional linear regression equation between measured value of air velocity transducer and the average air velocity was established by experimental data. The effect is to be evaluated. Through judging the parameters, one-dimensional linear equation established is valid. Regression equation can approximately put the measurements of air velocity transducer into the value of average air velocity. The distribution of air velocity field is simulated using Comsol in the conditions of the same length of roadway, the same air velocity and different sections.

Internal curing agents (ICA) based on super absorbent polymer have poor alkali tolerance and reduce the early strength of *** alkali tolerate internal curing agent (CAA-ICA) was designed and prepared by using sodium carboxymethyl starch (CMS) with high hydrophilicity,acrylic acid (AA) containing anionic carboxylic group and acrylamide (AM) containing non-ionic amide group as the main raw *** results show that the ratio of CAA-ICA alkali absorption solution is higher than that existing ICA,which solves the low water absorption ratio of the ICA in alkali *** water absorption ratio of CAA-ICA in saturated Ca(OH)_(2) solution is 95.8 g·g^(-1),and the alkali tolerance coefficient is *** application of CAA-ICA in cement-based materials can increase the internal relative humidity and miniaturize the pore *** compressive strength of mortar increases up to 12.95%at 28 d,which provids a solution to overcome the reduction of the early strength.

Against the backdrop of a global paper resource shortage,there is a growing need to identify fast-growing tree species capable of producing long-lasting *** plant species namely Broussonetia kazinoki,Broussonetia papyrifera and hybrid paper mulberry,belong to the Broussonetia genus,were collected from China to study their white bark suitability for pulp and *** chemical composition revealed that the holocellulose content in Broussonetia kazinoki and Broussonetia papyrifera was more than 80%.The molecular weight distribution of several holocellulose/α-cellulose is observed by GPC,which allows us to better observe the changes of various components on the molecular *** yield,lignin,whiteness,and molecular weight of the pulps obtained by NaOH treatment were *** microscope was used to characterize the fiber length-width ratio and ***,the improvement of the fiber rigidity method based on the Kratky-Porod chain model makes it more theoretical and further reveals the influencing factors of fiber *** study demonstrates the high potentiality of these three species for papermaking applications.

This paper presents a 65-nm 1-Gb NOR-type floating-gate flash memory,in which the cell device and chip circuit are developed and *** order to solve the speed problem of giga-level NOR flash in the deep submicron process,the models of long bit-line and word-line are first given,by which the capacitive and resistive loads could be *** on that,the read path and key modules are optimized to enhance the chip access property and *** the measurement results,the flash memory cell presents good endurance and retention properties,and the macro is operated with 1-ls/byte program speed and less than 50-ns read time under 3.3 V supply.

Simulation of Melting Behavior of the MgSi03 Perovskite Under Lower Mantle Conditions

The melting curve of MgSiO3 perovskite was simulated using molecular dynamics method combining with the effective pair potentials under the lower mantle conditions. It was shown that the state equation simulated for MgSiO3 perovskite is very successful in reproducing accurately the experimental data over a wide range of pressure. The pressure dependence of the simulated melting temperature of MgSiO3 perovskite is in agreement with the recent experimental data. The melting curve simulated for MgSiO3 is very steep at pressures below 60 GPa first, then it becomes smooth with increasing pressure. At the core mantle boundary pressure 135 GPa, MgSiO3 perovskite melts at 6500 K, which is significantly lower than that of the extrapolations of the experimental data from Zerr and Boehler.
