The local field potential（LFP） is a signal reflecting the electrical activity of neurons surrounding the electrode tip. Synchronization between LFP signals provides important details about how neural networks are organized. Synchronization between two distant brain regions is hard to detect using linear synchronization algorithms like correlation and coherence. Synchronization likelihood（SL） is a non-linear synchronization-detecting algorithm widely used in studies of neural signals from two distant brain areas. One drawback of non-linear algorithms is the heavy computational burden. In the present study, we proposed a graphic processing unit（GPU）-accelerated implementation of an SL algorithm with optional 2-dimensional time-shifting. We tested the algorithm with both artificial data and raw LFP data. The results showed that this method revealed detailed information from original data with the synchronization values of two temporal axes,delay time and onset time, and thus can be used to reconstruct the temporal structure of a neural network. Our results suggest that this GPU-accelerated method can be extended to other algorithms for processing time-series signals（like EEG and f MRI） using similar recording techniques.

Isoflurane is a widely used inhaled anesthetic in the clinical setting. However, the mechanism underlying its effect on consciousness is under discussion. Therefore, we investigated the effect of isoflurane on the hippocampus and cortex using an in vivo field recording approach. Our results showed that 1.3%, 0.8%, and 0.4% isoflurane exerted an inhibitory influence on the mouse hippocampus and cortex. Further, high frequency bands in the cortex and hippocampus showed greater suppression with increasing isoflurane concentration. Our findings suggest that in vivo field recordings can monitor the effect of isoflurane anesthesia on the mouse cortex and hippocampus.

The α5 subunit-containing gamma-amino butyric acid type A receptors(α5 GABAARs) are a distinct subpopulation that are specifically distributed in the mammalian hippocampus and also mediate tonic inhibitory currents in hippocampal neurons. These tonic currents can be enhanced by low-dose isoflurane, which is associated with learning and memory impairment. Inverse agonists of α5 GABAARs, such as L-655,708, are able to reverse the short-term memory deficit caused by low-dose isoflurane in young animals. However, whether these negative allosteric modulators have the same effects on aged rats remains unclear. In the present study, we mainly investigated the effects of L-655,708 on low-dose(1.3%) isoflurane-induced learning and memory impairment in elderly rats. Young(3-month-old) and aged(24-month-old) Wistar rats were randomly assigned to receive L-655,708 0.5 hour before or 23.5 hours after 1.3% isoflurane *** Morris Water Maze tests demonstrated that L-655,708 injected before or after anesthesia could reverse the memory deficit in young rats. But in aged rats, application of L-655,708 only before anesthesia showed similar effects. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction showed that low-dose isoflurane decreased the mRNA expression of α5 GABAARs in aging hippocampal neurons but increased that in young animals. These findings indicate that L-655,708 prevented but could not reverse 1.3% isoflurane-induced spatial learning and memory impairment in aged Wistar rats. All experimental procedures and protocols were approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Academy of Military Medical Science of China(approval No. NBCDSER-IACUC-2015128) in December 2015.

Aqueous zinc ion hybrid capacitors(ziHCs)are considered one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage systems due to their high safety,environmental friendliness,low cost,and high power ***,the low energy density and the lack of sustainable design strategies for the cathodes hinder the practical application of ***,we design the N and O co-doped porous carbon cathode by annealing metal-organic framework(ziF-8).ziF-8 retains the original dodecahedral structure with a high specific surface(2814.67 m^(2)/g)and I_(G)/I_(D) ratio of 1.0 during carbonization and achieves self-doping of N and O *** defect sites are introduced into the porous carbon to provide additional active sites for ion adsorption after the activation of carbonized ziF-8 by KOH *** ziHCs assembled with modified ziF-8 as the cathode and commercial zinc foil as the anode show an energy density of 125 W∙h/kg and a power density of 79 W/*** addition,this ziHCs device achieves capacity retention of 77.8%after 9000 electrochemical cycles,which is attributed to the diverse pore structure and plentiful defect sites of ziF-8-800(KOH).The proposed strategy may be useful in developing high-performance metal-ion hybrid capacitors for large-scale energy storage.

The conventional technique for positioning seafloor geophones in ocean bottom seismic exploration encounters several challenges,including the significant impact of outliers on positioning results,underutilization of high-precision observations,and low efficiency in real-time data *** issues inevitably affect the quality of seismic exploration *** address these challenges and enhance the accuracy of geophone positioning,this paper proposes a rigorous real-time acoustic positioning method for geophones based on sequential adjustment and Baarda's outlier detection *** proposed method comprises three key steps:grouping the original acoustic observations,constructing the intra-group acoustic positioning model,and synthesizing the positioning results across the different *** validity and practicality of this approach are confirmed through a simulation experiment as well as the field experiment conducted in the Bohai Sea,*** results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively eliminates outliers in the original observations and maximizes the utilization of high-quality *** to traditional acoustic positioning methods,it significantly reduces positioning errors from meters to decimeters,and in some cases can achieve centimeter-level *** the sound velocity profile in the operating sea area is measured,the method can attain the posterior standard deviation at the millimeter level and positioning errors within 10 *** the sound velocity profile is unknown,the method can achieve the posterior standard deviation at centimeter-level and positioning errors of approximately 20 cm.

The kinetic model is the theoretical basis for optimizing the structure and operation performance of vibration screening *** this paper,a biological neurodynamic equation and neural connections were established according to the motion and interaction properties of the material under vibration *** material feeding to the screen and the material passing through apertures were considered as excitatory and inhibitory inputs,respectively,and the generated stable neural activity landscape was used to describe the material distribution on the 2D screen *** dynamic process of material vibration screening was simulated using discrete element method(DEM).By comparing the similarity between the material distribution established using biological neural network(BNN)and that obtained using DEM simulation,the optimum coefficients of BNN model under a certain screening parameter were determined,that is,one relationship between the BNN model coefficients and the screening operation parameters was *** screening parameters were randomly selected,and the corresponding relationships were established as a ***,with straw/grain ratio,aperture diameter,inclination angle,vibration strength in normal and tangential directions as inputs,five independent adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems(ANFIS)were established to predict the optimum BNN model coefficients,*** training results indicated that ANFIS models had good stability and *** flexibility and adaptability of the proposed BNN method was demonstrated by modeling material distribution under complex feeding conditions such as multiple regions and non-uniform rate.

TX-80 low-transformation-temperature(LTT)welding wire was used to replace the traditional ER 307Si welding wire to realize the connection of 22SiMn2TiB armor steel in manual overlay *** previously existing issues,such as welding cracks,large welding deformation,and severe welding residual stress,were solved to ensure good strength and ductility *** particular,with the same welding conditions,TX-80 LTT wire eliminates welding *** reduces the welding deformation no matter the base pretreatment of pre-setting angle or no pre-setting *** comparison,it was found that the microstructure at the TX-80 weld is mainly composed of martensite and a small amount of retained *** contrast,the microstructure of the ER 307Si weld consists of a large amount of austenite and a small amount of skeleton-like *** variation trend of residual stress and microhardness from the weld to the base were investigated and compared with the mechanical properties of base *** TX-80 and the ER 307Si tensile samples elongation is 6.76%and 6.01%,while the ultimate tensile strengths are 877 and 667 MPa,*** average impact toughness at room temperature of the ER 307Si weld is 143.9 J/cm^(2),much higher than that of the TX-80 weld,which is only 36.7 J/cm^(2).The relationship between impact and tensile properties with microstructure species and distribution was *** addition,the fracture surface of the tensile and the impact samples was observed and *** dimples,fewer pores,larger radiation zone,and shear lips of TX-80 samples indicate better tensile ductility and worse impact toughness than those of ER 307Si weld.

AIM:To describe the characteristics of peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structure(PHOMS)in myopic children and to investigate factors associated with ***:This retrospective observational study included 101 eyes of 101 children(age≤17y)with *** included patients underwent comprehensive clinical *** nerve canal parameters,including disc diameter,optic nerve head(ONH)tilt angle,and border tissue angle were measured using serial enhanced-depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT).Based on the optic disc drusen consortium’s definition of PHOMS,eyes were classified as PHOMS group and non-PHOMS *** was categorized according to ***:Sixty-seven(66.3%)eyes were found with *** PHOMS could only be detected by optical coherence tomography(OCT).Medium PHOMS could be seen with blurred optic disc borders corresponding to *** most frequent location of PHOMS was at the nasosuperior(91%,61 of 67 eyes)to ONH *** axial length and spherical equivalent were more myopic in the PHOMS group than in the non-PHOMS group(both P<0.001).ONH tilt angle was also significantly greater in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[8.90(7.16-10.54)vs 3.93(3.09-5.25),P<0.001].Border tissue angle was significantly smaller in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[29.70(20.90-43.81)vs 45.62(35.18-60.45),P<0.001].In the multivariable analysis,spherical equivalent(OR=3.246,95%CI=1.209-8.718,P=0.019)and ONH tilt angle(OR=3.275,95%CI=1.422-7.542,P=0.005)were significantly correlated with *** was no disc diameter associated with *** the linear regression analysis,border tissue angle was negatively associated with PHOMS height(β=-2.227,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:PHOMS is associated with optic disc tilt and optic disc nasal shift in *** diameter is not a risk factor for *** changes in ONH caused by axial elongation facilitated an understanding of the mechanism of PHOMS.

Safflower Yellow Inhibits Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma by Modulating Immunological Tolerance via FAK Pathway

Objective To explore the anti-tumor effect of safflower yellow(SY)against hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and the underlying potential *** An in vitro model was established by mixing Luc-Hepa1-6 cells and CD3^(+)CD8^(+)T cells,followed by adding programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)antibody(Anti-mPD-1)with or without *** apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry and the level of inflammatory cytokines was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** protein levels of programmed cell death 1 ligand 1(PD-L1),chemokine ligand(CCL5),C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10(CXCL10)were measured by Western *** in situ animal model was established in mice followed by treatment with anti-mPD-1 with or without *** imaging was monitored with an AniView 100 imaging *** establish the FAK-overexpressed Luc-Hepa1-6 cells,cells were transfected with adenovirus containing pcDNA3.1-FAK for 48 *** The fluorescence intensity,apoptotic rate,release of inflammatory cytokines,and CCL5/CXCL10 secretion were dramatically facilitated by anti-mPD-1(P<0.01),accompanied by an inactivation of PD-1/PD-L1 axis,which were extremely further enhanced by SY(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Increased fluorescence intensity,elevated percentage of CD3+CD8+T cells,facilitated release of inflammatory cytokines,inactivated PD-1/PD-L1 axis,and increased CCL5/CXCL10 secretion were observed in Anti-mPD-1 treated mice(P<0.01),which were markedly enhanced by SY(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,the enhanced effects of SY on inhibiting tumor cell growth,facilitating apoptosis and inflammatory cytokine releasing,suppressing the PD-1/PD-L1 axis,and inducing the CCL5/CXCL10 secretion in Anti-mPD-1 treated mixture of Luc-Hepa1-6 cells and CD3+CD8+T cells were abolished by FAK overexpression(P<0.01).Conclusion SY inhibited the progression of HCC by mediating immunological tolerance through inhibiting FAK.
