Objective The aim of this case-control study was to explore the association between serum uric acid to high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio(UHR) and the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in Chinese *** A total of 636 patients with NAFLD and 754 controls were enrolled from the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University, China, between January and December 2016. All patients completed a comprehensive questionnaire survey and underwent abdominal ultrasound examination and a blood test. NAFLD was diagnosed using ultrasonography after other etiologies were excluded. Logistic regression and restricted cubic spline model were conducted to evaluate the relationship of UHR with NAFLD *** The multivariable adjusted odds ratio(95% confidence interval, CI) for NAFLD in the highest versus lowest quartile of UHR was 3.888(2.324–6.504). In analyses stratified by sex and age, we observed significant and positive associations between UHR and the risk of NAFLD in each subgroup. In analyses stratified by body mass index(BMI), a significant and positive association was found only in individuals with a BMI of ≥ 24 kg/m2. Our dose-response analysis indicated a linear positive correlation between UHR and the risk of *** UHR is positively associated with the risk of NAFLD and may serve as an innovative and noninvasive marker for identifying individuals at risk of NAFLD.

A reversible disulfide bond-based self-healing polyurethane with triple shape memory properties was prepared by chain extending of random copolymer poly(lactide-co-caprolactone)(PCLA), hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), polytetrahydrofuran (PTMEG), and 4,4,-aminophenyl disulfide. The chemical structures were characterized using 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (^1H-NMR) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The thermal properties, selfhealing properties, triple-shape memory effect, and quantitative shape memory response were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), tensile tests, two-step programming process thermal mechanical experiments, and subsequent progressive thermal recovery. The self-healing mechanism and procedures were investigated using polarizing optical microscopy (POM) and an optical profiler. It was concluded that self-healing properties (up to 60%) and triple-shape memory properties around 35 and 50℃(with shape fixation ratios of 94.3% and 98.3%, shape recovery ratios of 76.6% and 85.1%, respectively) were integrated to the shape memory polyurethane. As-prepared polyurethane is expected to have potential applications in multi-shape coatings, films, and step-by-step deploying structures.

We conducted experimental and numerical studies on the vibrating modes of a dragon wash basin (DWB) and the free surface waves inside the DWB. Both the vibration of the DWB and the sound produced were studied carefully. It was found that the DWB can be excited at different intrinsic modes under different excitation, including striking and rubbing it fast/slowly. However, with gentle rubbing, the DWB will be excited mainly at the first vibrating mode. We showed that the concave side wall of a DWB decreases the intrinsic frequencies (compared with a straight side wall), and the ears of a DWB lead to breaking of the vibrating-axisymmetry and cause the separation of modes I/II and IV/V as well. A theoretical model, in which the water is assumed to be incompressible and inviscid, is applied to the first order vibration and predicts the relation of vibrating frequency versus water depth in the system. The measurement shows that both the radial and azimuthal waves are produced as DWB is working. The frequency of the first component of the surface wave is twice as large as the second one induced by non-linear effects. For both the radial and azimuthal waves, the dispersion relation is presented in the framework of capillary wave theory.

Due to the high specific capacity, low cost, and environmental friendliness, lithium-sulfur batteries hold great potential to become the mainsiay of next-generation energy storage system. Regarding the composition of sulfur/carbon in cathode, flammable organic liquid electrolyte, and lithium metal anode, great concerns about the safety have been raised. Hence solid-electrolyte-based lithium-sulfur batteries, as one alternative route for safe batteries, are highly interested. This review highlights the recent research progress of lithium-sulfur batteries with solid electrolytes. Both sulfide solid electrolytes and oxide solid electrolytes are included. The sulfide solid electrolytes are mainly employed in all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries, while the oxide solid electrolytes are applied in hybrid electrolyte for lithium-sulfur batteries. The challenges and perspectives in this field are also featured on the basis of its current progress.

Initial 12-h Operative Fluid Volume is an Independent Risk Factor for Pleural Effusion after Hepatectomy

Pleural effusion after hepatectomy is associated with significant morbidity and prolonged hospital *** studies have addressed the risk factors for postoperative pleural ***,there are no researches concerning the role of the initial 12-h operative fluid *** aim of this study was to evaluate whether the initial 12-h operative fluid volume during liver resection is an independent risk factor for pleural effusion after *** this study,we retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 470 patients consecutively undergoing elective hepatectomy between January 2011 and December *** prospectively collected and retrospectively analyzed baseline and clinical data,including preoperative,intraoperative,and postoperative *** and multivariate analyses were carried out to identify whether the initial 12-h operative fluid volume was an independent risk factor for pleural effusion after *** multivariate analysis identified 2 independent risk factors for pleural effusion：operative time [odds ratio（OR）=10.2] and initial 12-h operative fluid volume（OR=1.0003）.Threshold effect analyses revealed that the initial 12 h operative fluid volume was positively correlated with the incidence of pleural effusion when the initial 12-h operative fluid volume exceeded 4636 m *** conclude that the initial 12-h operative fluid volume during liver resection and operative time are independent risk factors for pleural effusion after *** intravenous fluids should be restricted properly.

An adaptive command filter control strategy was proposed to realize the asymptotic tracking of the roll speed,which successfully suppressed torsional vibration for the main drive system of the rolling mill with nonlinear friction,nonlinear damping,current harmonic,time-varying stiffness and unknown disturbance.A finite time predetermined performance method was proposed,so that the speed tracking error of the main transmission system was always constrained in the performance function and converged to its minimum boundary within the specified *** on the adaptive estimation of harmonic amplitude,the torque control law of the motor was obtained by using the filter backstepping method,which prevented the torsional vibration of the system caused by the input fluctuation and avoided the complexity explosion of the controller design,and the stability of the closed-loop system was strictly proved by the Lyapunov *** actual numerical simulation verified the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
