A modified transformer and adapter-based transfer learning for fault detection and diagnosis in HVAC systems

Fault detection and diagnosis(FDD)of heating,ventilation,and air conditioning(HVAC)systems can help to improve the energy saving in building energy ***,most data-driven trained FDD models have limited generalizability and can only be applied to specific *** diversity of HVAC systems and the high cost of data acquisition present challenges for the practical application of *** learning technology can be employed to mitigate this problem by training a model on systems with sufficient data and then transfer it to other systems with limited *** this study,a novel transfer learning approach for HVAC FDD is ***,the transformer model is modified to incorporate one encoder and two decoders connected,enabling two *** modified transformer model accommodates absent features in the target domain and serves as a robust foundation for transfer *** has effective performance in complex systems and achieves an accuracy of 91.38%for a system with 16 faults and multiple fault severity ***,the adapter-based parameter-efficient transfer learning method,facilitating the transfer of trained models simply by inserting small adapter modules,is investigated as the transfer learning *** demonstrate that this adapter-based transfer learning approach achieves satisfactory performance similar to full fine-tuning with fewer trainable *** works well with limited data amount in target ***,the findings highlight the significance of adapters positioned near the bottom and top layers,emphasizing their critical role in facilitating successful transfer learning.

We present the interstellar scintillation analysis of fast radio burst(FRB)20220912A during its extremely active episode in 2022using data from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope(FAST).We detect a scintillation arc in the FRB’s secondary spectrum,which describes the power in terms of the scattered FRB signals’time delay and Doppler *** arc indicates that the scintillation is caused by a highly localized *** analysis favors a Milky Way origin of the ionized interstellar medium(IISM)for the localized scattering medium but cannot rule out a host galaxy *** present our method for detecting the scintillation arc,which can be applied generally to sources with irregularly spaced bursts or *** methods could help shed light on the complex interstellar environment surrounding the FRBs and in our Galaxy.

The rational design of a specific co-drug delivery platform that can address the unavoidable resistance, toxic side effects and low targeting efficiency of traditional cancer treatments is of great ***, Zn-based MOF-zeolitic imidazole framework-90(ziF-90) was selected as the drug delivery carrier, with the cancer therapeutic drug mercaptopurine(6-MP) and glucose oxidase(GOD) as the drug models, hyaluronic acid(HA) was used for protection and targeted delivery, which designed and fabricated an intelligent drug delivery platform(6-MP@ziF-90@GOD@HA). This platform aims to reduce the toxic side effects of 6-MP and enhance its efficacy while improving the targeting ability of GOD,thereby further enhancing the treatment outcome. Notably,results from both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that the targeted synergistic chemo/reactive oxygen species(ROS)-mediated/starvation therapy inhibited the cancer cell growth while reducing the chemotherapy toxicity, which provides new possibilities for the development of more precise and effective treatment strategies.

exploring mechanism of hidden,steep obliquely inclined bedding landslides using a 3DeC model:A case study of the Shanyang landslide in Shaanxi Province,China

Catastrophic geological disasters frequently occur on slopes with obliquely inclined bedding structures(also referred to as obliquely inclined bedding slopes),where the apparent dip sliding is not readily *** phenomenon has become a focal point in landslide ***,there is a lack of studies on the failure modes and mechanisms of hidden,steep obliquely inclined bedding *** study investigated the Shanyang landslide in Shaanxi Province,*** field investigations,laboratory tests of geotechnical parameters,and the 3DeC software,this study developed a numerical model of the landslide to analyze the failure process of such *** findings indicate that the Shanyang landslide primarily crept along a weak interlayer under the action of *** landslide,initially following a dip angle with the support of a stable inclined rock mass,shifted direction under the influence of argillization in the weak interlayer,moving towards the apparent dip *** slide resistance effect of the karstic dissolution zone was increasingly significant during this process,with lateral friction being the primary resistance force.A reduction in the lateral friction due to karstic dissolution made the apparent dip sliding characteristics of the Shanyang landslide more ***,deformations such as bending and uplift at the slope’s foot suggest that the main slide resistance shifts from lateral friction within the karstic dissolution zone to the slope foot’s resistance force,leading to the eventual buckling failure of the *** study unveils a novel failure mode of apparent dip creep-buckling in the Shanyang landslide,highlighting the critical role of lateral friction from the karstic dissolution zone in its failure *** insights offer a valuable reference for mitigating risks and preventing disasters related to obliquely inclined bedding landslides.

Tumor recurrence and survival prognosis in patients with advanced gastric cancer after radical resection with radiotherapy and chemotherapy

Rational design and energy catalytic application of high-loading single-atom catalysts

It is well known that single-atom catalysts(SACs)have become a hot topic in the field of catalysis due to their advantages such as 100% metal atom utilization efficiency,high catalytic activity and selectivity compared with conventional catalysts and nanocatalysts. However, the isolated metal atoms on SACs have thermodynamic instability and tend to agglomerate, which limit their catalytic ***, it is of great significance to synthesize stable and high-loading single-atom catalysts(HLSACs). In this paper,we review the research progress of HLSACs from two aspects:design and application. Firstly, we comprehensively introduce the synthesis strategies of HLSACs, namely, top-down and bottom-up methods. Secondly, we overview the application status of HLSACs in three fields: electrocatalysis, thermal catalysis and photocatalysis. Finally, we summarize the development prospects and challenges of HLSACs.

enhancing force sensing in a squeezed optomechanical system with quantum nondemolition measurement

A theoretical scheme is proposed to enhance the sensitivity of force sensors with quantum nondemolition measurement(QND)in an optomechanical setup assisted by four-tone optical driving and an optical parametric amplifier(OPA).With the help of special drive,the system can be simplified as the typical type of QND for force sensing,so that the backaction noise can be evaded to surpass the standard quantum ***,the added noise can be suppressed owing to the modified optical susceptibility resulting from the *** introducing two oscillators coupling with two charged bodies respectively,the signal can be enhanced with the nonlinearity caused by Coulomb interaction,while the noise presents an exponential ***,considering the homodyne detection effect,the range of system parameters and frequency bands will be *** present investigation may provide a route toward simultaneously evading backaction noise,reducing the mechanical thermal noise,and enhancing the external signal,which can be an alternative design for sensitive devices.

The New Methods for Characterization of Molecular Weight of Supramolecular Polymers

Supramolecular polymers,as a type of dynamic polymers,are subordinate to the interdisciplinary field of polymer chemistry and supramolecular chemistry,whose development has greatly promoted the prosperity of new ***,molecular weight is one of the most important parameters of supramolecular polymers,which affects the physical/chemical properties and processing applications of *** new methods for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers is crucial for advancing the development of supramolecular *** this review,we elaborate and summarize three strategies for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers that recently reported by our research group according to the characteristics of supramolecular polymers,including(1)the molecular weight distinction corresponding to variable fluorescence colors,(2)matching different molecular weights with different fluorescence lifetime,(3)transforming supramolecular polymers into mechanically interlocked polymers or covalent ***,we also discuss the limitations of current methods for characterizing supramolecular *** hope that this review can promote the development of supramolecular polymers and significantly inspire to exploit new methods to characterizing molecular weight of supramolecular polymers.
