Assessing the Performance of a Dynamical Downscaling Simulation Driven by a Bias-Corrected CMIP6 Dataset for Asian Climate

In this study,we aim to assess dynamical downscaling simulations by utilizing a novel bias-corrected global climate model(GCM)data to drive a regional climate model(RCM)over the Asia-western North Pacific *** simulations were conducted with a 25-km grid spacing for the period 1980–*** first simulation(WRF_ERA5)was driven by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5(ERA5)dataset and served as the validation *** original GCM dataset(MPI-ESM1-2-HR model)was used to drive the second simulation(WRF_GCM),while the third simulation(WRF_GCMbc)was driven by the bias-corrected GCM *** bias-corrected GCM data has an ERA5-based mean and interannual variance and long-term trends derived from the ensemble mean of 18 CMIP6 *** demonstrate that the WRF_GCMbc significantly reduced the root-mean-square errors(RMSEs)of the climatological mean of downscaled variables,including temperature,precipitation,snow,wind,relative humidity,and planetary boundary layer height by 50%–90%compared to the WRF_***,the RMSEs of interannual-tointerdecadal variances of downscaled variables were reduced by 30%–60%.Furthermore,the WRF_GCMbc better captured the annual cycle of the monsoon circulation and intraseasonal and day-to-day *** leading empirical orthogonal function(EOF)shows a monopole precipitation mode in the WRF_*** contrast,the WRF_GCMbc successfully reproduced the observed tri-pole mode of summer precipitation over eastern *** improvement could be attributed to a better-simulated location of the western North Pacific subtropical high in the WRF_GCMbc after GCM bias correction.

State of research and trends in development of wood adhesives

We aim to present an overview of the status of adhesives in the wood industry, especially in the area of wood-based panels. The review summarizes the current state of research of two kinds of adhesives, i.e., synthetic adhesives and natural adhesives. Synthetic adhesives, consisting of urea-formaldehyde resins （UF）, phenol-formaldehyde resins （PF）, polyvinyl acetate emulsion （PVAc） and isocyanates, are widely used. For UF, most investigations are concerned with the reduction of free formaldehyde; for PF, most studies focus on finding new chemicals to replace phenol. PVAc has poor properties, but these can be improved by a blending reactions and copolymerization with other chemicals. Isocyanate is an environmentally friendly synthetic adhesive, but also suffers from inadequate properties. Natural adhesives, such as protein/starch, lignin and tannins, have poor bonding effect that limits their level of use, but their main advantages are that they are environmentally friendly and a renewable resource. Studies of modification can improve the bonding performances and gradually cause natural adhesives to become applied in industrial production. Some proposals for future development and the importance of environmentally friendly adhesives are provided, which will be helpful in future theoretical and experimental research.

Ultrasound Elastography of Ethanol-induced Hepatic Lesions:In Vitro Study

Objective To study the value of ultrasound elastography in evaluation of ethanol-induced lesions of liver. Methods Alcohol with a dose of 2 ml was injected into a fresh porcine liver under ultrasound guidance to create stiff necrosis. Then freehand elastography of the lesion from the identical scan plane was obtained with SONOLINE Antares system using VF10-5 probe at about every 30 seconds till 6 minutes later. The original high quality radiofrequency data were acquired through an ultrasound research interface which was provided by the ultrasound system. Then, corresponding elastograms were produced offline using cross-correlation technique and compared with gross pathology findings. Results Gray-scale sonogram showed a hyperechoic area with acoustic shadow below appeared immediately after alcohol injection. The hyperechoic area tended to be diffuse and its boundary to be illegible with time. On the contrary, the ethanol-induced lesion in elastogram appeared as a low swain hard region surrounded by high strain soft hepatic tissues, with clear but irregular boundaries. Sequential elastograms with the sketched lesion boundaries showed that the lesion area increased in the first 3 minutes after ethanol injection, and then reached a plateau which corresponding to gross specimen. Conclusion Ultrasound elastography is capable of detecting and evaluating the diffusion of ethanol-induced hepatic lesion, and more sensitive and accurate than routine sonography.

BN/La-Al-Si-O composite ceramics were fabricated by hot-pressed sintering using hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN),lanthanum oxide(La_(2)O_(3)),aluminia(Al_(2)O_(3)),and amorphous silica(SiO_(2))as the raw *** effects of sintering temperature on microstructural evolution,bulk density,apparent porosity,and mechanical properties of the h-BN composite ceramics were *** results indicated that La-Al-Si-O liquid phase was formed during sintering process,which provided an environment for the growth of h-BN *** increasing sintering temperature,the cristobalite phase precipitation and h-BN grain growth occurred at the same time,which had a significant influence on the densification and mechanical properties of h-BN composite *** best mechanical properties of BN/La-Al-Si-O composite ceramics were obtained under the sintering temperature of 1700℃.The elastic modulus,flexural strength,and fracture toughness were 80.5 GPa,266.4 MPa,and 3.25 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.

Quantum dot behavior in transition metal dichalcogenides nanostructures

Recently, transition metal dichalcogenides （TMDCs） semiconductors have been utilized for investi- gating quantum phenomena because of their unique band structures and novel electronic properties. In a quantum dot （QD）, electrons are confined in all lateral dimensions, offering the possibility for detailed investigation and controlled manipulation of individual quantum systems. Beyond the defini- tion of graphene QDs by opening an energy gap in nanoconstrictions, with the presence of a bandgap, gate-defined QDs can be achieved on TMDCs semiconductors. In this paper, we review the confim~ ment and transport of QDs in TMDCs nanostructures. The fabrication techniques for demonstrating two-dimensional （2D） materials nanostructures such as field-effect transistors and QDs, mainly based on e-beam lithography and transfer assembly techniques are discussed. Subsequently, we focus on electron transport through TMDCs nanostructures and QDs. With steady improvement in nanoscale materials characterization and using graphene as a springboard, 2D materials offer a platform that allows creation of heterostructure QDs integrated with a variety of crystals, each of which has entirely unique physical properties.

The influence of genetic polymorphisms in drug metabolism enzymes and transporters on the pharmacokinetics of different fluvastatin formulations

Research on Control Method of Inverters for Large-scale Grid Connected Photovoltaic Power System

A grid-connected inverter controlling method to analyze dynamic process of large-scale and grid-connected photovoltaic power station is proposed. The reference values of control variables are composed of maximum power which is the output of the photovoltaic array of the photovoltaic power plant, and power factor specified by dispatching, the control strategy of dynamic feedback linearization is adopted. Nonlinear decoupling controller is designed for realizing decoupling control of active and reactive power. The cascade PI regulation is proposed to avoid inaccurate parameter estimation which generates the system static error. Simulation is carried out based on the simplified power system with large-scale photovoltaic plant modelling, and the power factor, solar radiation strength, and bus fault are considered for the further research. It’s demonstrated that the parameter adjustment of PI controller is simple and convenient, dynamic response of system is transient, and the stability of the inverter control is verified.
