Performance analysis and multi-objective optimization based on a modified irreversible Stirling cycle

The efficiency of the actual Stirling engine is much lower than the ideal Carnot cycle *** obtain more precise efficiency for Stirling engines,this paper proposes a modified Stirling cycle with a more accurate heat transfer process in Stirling engines based on a thermodynamic function called available *** finite-time thermodynamic method is used to analyze the model performance under constant heat source temperature,finite temperature difference heat transfer,and incomplete regenerative processes.A new polytropic process is introduced to model the heat transfer between the working fluid and external heat sources in which only heat above ambient temperature is converted into technical *** regenerator is divided into numerous smaller heat reservoirs with individual temperature to analyze the incomplete regenerative *** expressions of the output power and thermal efficiency are obtained based on the modified irreversible Stirling cycle,and the effects of irreversible losses are analyzed to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** indicate that the efficiency of the modified cycle is much lower than that of the ideal Stirling cycle with an isothermal *** the increase of the average heat transfer temperature difference,there exists an optimum value for the power of the irreversible *** optimum power of the model was obtained for varying thermodynamic parameters by optimizing the average heat transfer temperature difference between the hot and cold *** optimize the irreversible model,the multi-objective optimization analysis is carried out based on NSGA-Ⅱ,which results in an optimized output power of 40.87 kW and an optimized thermal efficiency of 44%.

In the pursuit of advancing molecular sensing through surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS),the combination of plasmonic nanoparticles and metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)has emerged as a highly effective approach to enhance the sensitivity and selectivity of SERS ***,most prior investigations have predominantly focused on MOF-coated plasmonic nanoparticles in core@shell or layer-by-layer configurations,leaving a notable knowledge gap in exploring alternative *** we present a facile method to construct a particle-on-mirror architecture by selectively coating a MOF,zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8),onto the tips of Au nanostars and subsequently depositing the resultant nanoparticles onto a Au *** design integrates the electric field enhancement at the sharp tips and nanogaps,along with the molecular enrichment function within the porous MOF immobilized at the tips and nanogaps,leading to a substantial boost in the SERS signal *** a unique SERS platform enables consistent and outstanding SERS performance for analytes of different *** work opens up a promising strategy for constructing multifunctional nanostructures for sensitive SERS detection in real-life scenarios.

Multiphase microfluidic has emerged as a powerful platform to produce novel materials with tailor-designed functionalities, as microfluidic fabrication provides precise controls over the size, component, and structure of resultant materials. Recently, functional materials with welldefined micro-/nanostructures fabricated by microfluidics find important applications as environmental and energy materials. This review first illustrated in detail how different structures or shapes of droplet and jet templates are formed by typical configurations of microfluidic channel networks and multiphase flow systems. Subsequently, recent progresses on several representative energy and environmental applications, such as water purification, water collecting and energy storage, were overviewed. Finally, it is envisioned that integrating microfluidics and other novel materials will play increasing important role in contributing environmental remediation and energy storage in near future.

Fuel consumption is one of the main concerns for heavy-duty *** cruise control(PCC)provides an intriguing opportunity to reduce fuel consumption by using the upcoming road *** this study,a real-time implementable PCC,which simultaneously optimizes engine torque and gear shifting,is proposed for heavy-duty *** minimize fuel consumption,the problem of the PCC is formulated as a nonlinear model predictive control(MPC),in which the upcoming road elevation information is *** the solution of the nonlinear MPC is time consuming;thus,a real-time implementable solver is developed based on Pontryagin’s maximum principle and indirect shooting *** programming(DP)algorithm,as a global optimization algorithm,is used as a performance benchmark for the proposed ***,hardware-in-the-loop and real-truck experiments are conducted to verify the performance of the proposed *** results demonstrate that the MPC-based solution performs nearly as well as the DP-based solution,with less than 1%deviation for testing ***,the proposed co-optimization controller is implementable in a real-truck,and the proposed MPC-based PCC algorithm achieves a fuel-saving rate of 7.9%without compromising the truck’s travel time.

Global navigation satellite system-reflection(GNSS-R)sea surface altimetry based on satellite constellation platforms has become a new research direction and inevitable trend,which can meet the altimetric precision at the global scale required for underwater *** present,there are still research gaps for GNSS-R altimetry under this mode,and its altimetric capability cannot be specifically ***,GNSS-R satellite constellations that meet the global altimetry needs to be ***,the matching precision prediction model needs to be established to quantitatively predict the GNSS-R constellation altimetric ***,the GNSS-R constellations altimetric precision under different configuration parameters is calculated,and the mechanism of the influence of orbital altitude,orbital inclination,number of satellites and simulation period on the precision is analyzed,and a new multilayer feedforward neural network weighted joint prediction model is ***,the fit of the prediction model is verified and the performance capability of the model is tested by calculating the R2 value of the model as 0.9972 and the root mean square error(RMSE)as 0.0022,which indicates that the prediction capability of the model is ***,using the novel multilayer feedforward neural network weighted joint prediction model,and considering the research results and realistic costs,it is proposed that when the constellation is set to an orbital altitude of 500 km,orbital inclination of 75and the number of satellites is 6,the altimetry precision can reach 0.0732 m within one year simulation period,which can meet the requirements of underwater navigation precision,and thus can provide a reference basis for subsequent research on spaceborne GNSS-R sea surface altimetry.

Background: Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan (Trp)catabolism have been demonstrated to play an important role in tumor immunosuppression. This study examined the expression and catalytic activity of IDO1 in penilesquamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) and explored their clinical ***: IDO1 expression level, serum concentrations of Trp and kynurenine (Kyn)were examined in 114 PSCC patients by immunohistonchemistry and solid-phaseextraction-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The survival was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method and the log-rank test. Hazard ratio of death was analyzed via univariate and multivariate Cox regression. Immune cell types were definedby principal component analysis. The correlativity was assessed by Pearson’s correlation ***: The expression level of IDO1 in PSCC cells was positively correlatedwith serum Kyn concentration and Kyn/Trp radio (KTR;both P < 0.001) but negatively correlated with serum Trp concentration (P = 0.001). Additionally, IDO1 upregulation in cancer cells and the increase of serum KTR were significantly associated with advanced N stage (both P < 0.001) and high pathologic grade (P = 0.008and 0.032, respectively). High expression level of IDO1 in cancer cells and serumKTR were associated with short disease-specific survival (both P < 0.001). However, besides N stage (hazard radio [HR], 6.926;95% confidence interval [CI],2.458-19.068;P < 0.001) and pathologic grade (HR, 2.194;95% CI, 1.021-4.529;P = 0.038), only serum KTR (HR, 2.780;95% CI, 1.066-7.215;P = 0.036) was anindependent predictor for PSCC prognosis. IDO1 expression was positively correlated with the expression of interferon-𝛾 (IFN𝛾, P < 0.001) and immunosuppressivemarkers (programmed cell death protein 1, cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 and programmed death-ligand 1 and 2;all P < 0.05), and the infiltration ofimmune cells (including cytotoxic T lymphocytes, regulatory T lymphocytes, tumorassociated m

As typical metalloid toxic elements widely distributed in environmental media,the geochemical behaviour of antimony(Sb)and arsenic(As)affects environmental *** selected the surface waters and sediments at the river-lake junction of Dongting Lake as the research objects,analysed the concentration and chemical partitioning of Sb and As,assessed its contamination and ecological risk levels,and discussed its sources and potential influencing *** concentrations of dissolved Sb and As in surface waters were low(<5.46μg/L),and the concentrations of Sb and As in surface sediments were 2.49-22.65mg/kg and 11.10-136.34 mg/kg,*** and As in sediments were mainly enriched in the fraction of residues,but the proportion of As in bioavailability was significantly higher than that of *** the contamination level of Sb was higher than that of As,the risk assessment code(RAC)showed that the ecological risk level of As was higher than that of *** erosion and mining activities(in the midstream of Zijiang River)were the main contaminated sources of Sb,while As was affect mainly by rainwater *** contamination and ecological risk of Sb in the inlet of the Zijiang River should receive considerable attention,while those of As in the inlet of the Xiangjiang River should also be seriously *** study highlights the need for multi-index-based assessments of contamination and ecological risk and the importance of further studies on the environmental behaviour of metalloids in specific hydrological conditions,such as river-lake junctions.

Dear Editor,This letter studies the input-to-state stability(ISS)for a class of impulsive switched systems,where uncertain impulse-switching moments are *** robustness of ISS with respect to the perturbations of the occurrence time of impulse-switching moments is revealed by several less conservative dwell-time conditions for the uncertain impulse-switching moments combined with Lyapunov ***,the Lyapunov conditions have multiple coefficients at discrete time so as to handle the hybrid effect of impulse-switching moments,and the case that time derivative of Lyapunov function is indefinite is also taken into ***,a numerical example is proposed to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Feature Selection(FS)is a key pre-processing step in pattern recognition and data mining tasks,which can effectively avoid the impact of irrelevant and redundant features on the performance of classification *** recent years,meta-heuristic algorithms have been widely used in FS problems,so a Hybrid Binary Chaotic Salp Swarm Dung Beetle Optimization(HBCSSDBO)algorithm is proposed in this paper to improve the effect of *** this hybrid algorithm,the original continuous optimization algorithm is converted into binary form by the S-type transfer function and applied to the FS *** combining the K nearest neighbor(KNN)classifier,the comparative experiments for FS are carried out between the proposed method and four advanced meta-heuristic algorithms on 16 UCI(University of California,Irvine)*** evaluation metrics such as average adaptation,average prediction accuracy,and average running time are chosen to judge and compare the *** selected dataset is also discussed by categorizing it into three dimensions:high,medium,and low *** results show that the HBCSSDBO feature selection method has the ability to obtain a good subset of features while maintaining high classification accuracy,shows better optimization *** addition,the results of statistical tests confirm the significant validity of the method.
