Objective To study the distribution of the neurons associated with adrenal gland and acupoint "Shenshu"（BL23） area in the rat by using a dual fluorescent neural tracing technique with Alexa Fluor 488 and 594 conjugates of cholera toxin subunit B（AF488/594-CTB） for exploring the neuroanatomical basis of acupoint-visceral correlation. Methods Under the respiratory anesthesia, 4 μl of AF488-CTB was injected subcutaneously into the left side of BL23 area, at the same time, 2 μl of AF594-CTB was injected into the same side of adrenal gland that was exposed by local surgery. Both injections were performed in the same rat with a 10 μl microsyringe. Three days after injection, the rats were transcardially perfused with 4 % paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M phosphate buffer（PB）, and dorsal root ganglions（DRG）, spinal cord, and sympathetic chain were dissected out and stored in 25% sucrose PB at 4°C for sample making. The neuronal labeling with AF488/594-CTB can be directly observed under a fluorescent microscope or a laser scanning confocal microscope. Results The sensory neurons associated with both adrenal gland and acupoint BL23 distributed from thoracic（T） 10 to lumbar（L） 1 DRG with high concentration in T11-T12 and T12-T13 respectively, and some of them were labeled with both AF488/594-CTB and coexisted in T12, T13, and L1 DRG. For the sympathetic innervation, the postganglionic sympathetic neurons associated with both adrenal gland and acupoint BL23 were found in the sympathetic chain at the same lumbar segments and labeled with AF488/594-CTB separately, while the sympathetic preganglionic neurons were only labeled by the injection of AF594-CTB into the adrenal gland, which located in the spinal lateral horn of T11-T13 segments. In addition, the motor neurons associated with acupoint BL23 were mainly detected in the spinal ventral horn of cord at T11-L1 segments and also a few at cervical segments. Microphysical Insights into a Tornadic Supercell from Dual-Polarization Radar Observations in Jiangsu, China on 14 May 2021

Tornadoes are incredibly powerful and destructive natural events,yet the microphysical characteristics of the parent storm and its effects on tornadogenesis remain *** study analyzed polarization radar data of a tornadic supercell that occurred in Jiangsu Province of China on 14 May 2021,in comparison with another tornadic supercell and two non-tornadic supercells that occurred in the same region in *** two tornadic supercells exhibited lower differential reflectivity(ZDR)in the hook echo region compared with the non-tornadic supercells,indicating smaller median drop sizes.A distinct increase in ZDR from the melting of frozen hydrometeors,observed between2.5-and 4.0-km altitude in the non-tornadic storms,was absent in the tornadic *** non-tornadic supercells also displayed substantially higher specific differential phase(KDP)below the melting level,likely aroused from enhanced melting and *** findings suggest fundamental microphysical contrasts between tornadic and nontornadic ***,tornadic supercells have smaller droplets and may reduce melting in hook ***,greater separation between the ZDR arc and the KDP foot was observed during *** vertical gradient of KDP related to the cooling pool strength of the hook echo,regulating rear-flank downdraft *** the limited number of cases investigated,the findings of this study indicate that monitoring ZDR,KDP,and drop size distribution trends could assist with tornado prediction and warnings.

Evolution of pore systems in low-maturity oil shales during thermal upgrading--Quantified by dynamic SEM and machine learning

Continuous-flow enzymatic synthesis of chiral lactones in a three-dimensional microfluidic reactor

A new continuous-flow process for the enzymatic synthesis of optically pureγ-lactones,which are used as flavors and fragrances in the food and cosmetic industries,was developed in a three-dimensional microfluidic *** microchannels(175 mm in length,0.9 mm in depth,and 1.72 mL in volume)were carved precisely inside a single borosilicate glass(90 mm×75 mm×12 mm)with ultrafast femtosecond laser *** flow field analysis and reaction simulation showed that the mixing of substrates and enzymes was enhanced,allowing the adjustment of residence time in a wide ***_(V4),a carbonyl reductase with excellent catalytic activity and enantioselectivity towardγ/δ-keto acids,was employed for the asymmetric synthesis of various chiral lactones.30 mmol/L(R)-γ-decalactone(3g)can be obtained in 26 s with a space-time yield(STY)up to 16,877 g L^(-1)d^(-1),which is 14.4 times higher than the highest STY of batch reaction reported *** continuous-flow process was applied to the synthesis of 6 chiral *** addition,the scaled-up synthesis of 3g was carried out in 6 cascade microreactors continuously for 6 h,demonstrating the feasibility and stability of the 3D continuous-flow process in enzymatic synthesis of optically pure compounds.

Effect of stress-relief annealing on thermal fatigue cracks for die-casting die steels

The effect of stress-relief annealing at different stages of thermal fatigue tests on crack growth was investigated using a self-built thermal cycle *** results showed that annealing could limit crack expansion *** reduced dislocation density and released the accumulation of residual *** addition,the strain accumulation in carbides was reduced by this *** was also found that double annealing was even more effective at inhibiting crack expansion compared to single stress-relief *** 1000 cycles,the maximum crack length was reduced by 31.1%and 45.2%for the samples after using the optimal single and double annealing processes,*** single stress-relief annealing,earlier annealing provides more benefit in delaying crack ***,effective double stress-relief annealing requires a suitable time interval between the annealing ***,after 800 cycles,surface hardness decreased significantly accompanied by an increase in the size and number of carbides,and cracks expanded predominantly along grain boundaries.

Early systemic anticoagulation reduces hospital readmission in acute necrotizing pancreatitis patients:A retrospective cohort study

Background:Early systemic anticoagulation(SAC)is a common practice in acute necrotizing pancreatitis(ANP),and its impact on in-hospital clinical outcomes had been ***,whether it affects long-term outcomes is *** study aimed to evaluate the effect of SAC on 90-day readmission and other long-term outcomes in ANP ***:During January 2013 and December 2018,ANP patients admitted within 7 days from the onset of abdominal pain were *** primary outcome was 90-day readmission after *** proportional-hazards regression model and mediation analysis were used to define the relationship between early SAC and 90-day ***:A total of 241 ANP patients were enrolled,of whom 143 received early SAC during their hospitalization and 98 did *** who received early SAC experienced a lower incidence of splanchnic venous thrombosis(SVT)[risk ratio(RR)=0.40,95%CI:0.26-0.60,P<0.01]and lower 90-day readmission with an RR of 0.61(95%CI:0.41-0.91,P=0.02)than those who did *** the quality of life,patients who received early SAC had a significantly higher score in the subscale of vitality(P=0.03)while the other subscales were all comparable between the two *** Cox regression model showed that early SAC was an independent protective factor for 90-day readmission after adjusting for potential confounders with a hazard ratio of 0.57(95%CI:0.34-0.96,P=0.04).Mediation analysis showed that SVT mediated 37.0%of the early SAC-90-day readmission ***:The application of early SAC may reduce the risk of 90-day readmission in the survivors of ANP patients,and reduced SVT incidence might be the primary contributor.
