Over the past decade,China had developed rapidly in the natural gas industry and become one of the largest natural gas countries in the world.From 2009 to 2019,natural gas consumption in China had been growing rapidly with a compound annual growth rate of 13.1%,making it the world’s third largest consumer of natural gas now.The share of natural gas in primary energy consumption mix is constantly increasing and reaches 8.6%in 2020.Natural gas proved reserves in China grow at an compound annual growth rate of 8.9%during the past decade.

During the past decade,China’s petroleum industry had experienced an extraordinary process,the development of domestic oil supply and demand was unbalanced.China’s oil consumption continues to grow with a compound annual growth rate of 5.1%,making China the world’s second largest oil consumer,the share of oil in primary energy consumption mix increased steadily and accounted for 20%in 2019.Oil proved reserves increased grow at a low rate with a compound annual growth rate of 2.1%from 2008 to 2018.China’s proved reserve ranked the 14th in the world in 2019.Oil production increased and exceeded 200 million in 2010,reached the historical peak in 2015,and then continued to decline from 2016 to 2018.China’s Oil imports are growing rapidly and its import dependency has continued to rise.In 2017,China surpassed the United States to become the world’s largest oil importer.In the past decade,the import dependency had increased by more than 20%and reached nearly 72%in 2019.

Encouraged by the great success of shale oil development in the US, China began its shale oil exploration and development activities in 2010. During the past decade, progresses had been made in many shale-oil-bearing basins, including Ordos, Junggar and Bohai Bay. This article reviewed in detail the current situations of shale oil exploration and development in these basins. Issues such as shale oil play geological conditions that quite different from that of the U.S., lack of specific technologies, impact of a low oil price, absence of sufficient fiscal support from the central government and room for further institutional improvement, were sorted out to be the major challenges in the path of shale oil exploration and development in the basins. To deal with the problems, the authors proposed a nationallevel research for cost-reduction and efficiency-increasing strategy and painted a preliminary roadmap of technology research for shale oil extraction. Four national-level pilot projects of shale oil development were also suggested in the paper.

China is abandant in shale gas resources. Encouraged by the successful development of shale gas resources in the U. S., China began its shale gas research and exploration activity about 10 years ago. This paper briefed the history, state quo and future of shale gas development in the country. Factors that constrain the shale gas industry there include technology limitations, attitude of the government, environmental concerns and etc. The future of the shale gas industry in China depends heavily on how well these issues are dealt.

Economy growth in China is expected to slow down a little during the 13 th Five-Year-Plan period. So will the domestic gas demand and supply market, which may be quite different from that of the 11 th and 12 th Five-Year-Plan periods. The paper summarized the state quo of gas supply and demand in the country and analyzed factors that may affect the demand and supply balance in the new period. It is proposed that there will be many uncertainties in achieving supply and demand goals of gas set for the period, and gas glut is also very possible during the time. To deal with the problem, it is suggested that several measures be taken nationwide: improving utilization of gas in several sectors, straightening and optimizing the pricing mechanism, speeding up construction of infrastructures, implementing relevant policies and boosting up supervision and monitor of the industry.

页岩油气资源潜力已经成为社会关注的重点,为了更好地了解页岩油气资源潜力,需要不断完善页岩油气资源评价方法,加强资源评价工作。页岩油气属于非常规油气资源,其地质特征与常规油气有明显的不同,因此常规油气资源评价方法不完全适用于页岩油气,需要发展适合页岩油气特点的资源评价方法。一般来说,页岩油气地质资源量较大,但是采收率较低,因此页岩油气资源评价不仅要关注地质资源量,更要重视可采资源量。页岩油气资源评价基本采用成藏思路而很少采用成烃思路。目前页岩油气资源评价主流的基本方法有两类:①基于页岩油气层含油气量的地质资源量评价方法;②基于单井页岩油气EUR的技术可采资源量评价方法。影响页岩油气资源评价的因素主要有地质认识、技术进步和经济因素,地质评价是资源评价的基础和关键。
