Rare earth monosilicates as oxidation resistant interphase for SiCf/SiC CMC:Investigation of SiC_(f)/Yb_(2)SiO_(5)model composites

Model composites consisting of SiC fiber and Yb_(2)SiO_(5)were processed by the spark plasma sintering(SPS)*** mechanical compatibility and chemical stability between Yb_(2)SiO_(5)and SiC fiber were studied to evaluate the potential application of Yb monosilicate as the interphase of silicon carbide fiber reinforced silicon carbide ceramic matrix composite(SiC_(f)/SiC CMC).Two kinds of interfaces,namely mechanical and chemical bonding interfaces,were achieved by adjusting sintering ***_(f)/Yb_(2)SiO_(5)interfaces prepared at 1450 and 1500℃exhibit high interface strength and debond energy,which do not satisfy the crack deflection criteria based on He-Hutchison *** spectrum analyzation indicates that the thermal expansion mismatch between Yb_(2)SiO_(5)and SiC contributes to high compressive thermal stress at interface,and leads to high interfacial *** layer at interface in model composite sintered at 1550℃is related to the diffusion promoted by high temperature and DC electric filed during *** is inspired that the interfacial parameters could be adjusted by introducing Yb_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)-Yb_(2)SiO_(5)interphase with controlled composition to optimize the mechanical fuse mechanism in SiC_(f)/SiC CMC.

Redistributing Cu species in Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite as NH3-SCR catalyst via a simple ion-exchange

The nature and distribution of Cu species in Cu-SSZ-13 play a vital role in selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3(NH3-SCR),but existing methods for adjusting the Cu distribution are complex and difficult to ***,we report a simple and effective ion-exchange approach to regulate the Cu distribution in the one-pot synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 that possesses sufficient initial Cu species and thus provides a“natural environment”for adjusting Cu distribution *** using this proposed strategy,a series of Cu-SSZ-13x zeolites with different Cu contents and distributions were *** is shown that the dealumination of the as-synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 during the ion-exchange generates abundant vacant sites in the double six-membered-rings of the SSZ-13 zeolite for relocating Cu2+species and thus allows the redistribution of the Cu *** catalytic results showed that the ion-exchanged Cu-SSZ-13 zeolites exhibit quite different catalytic performance in NH3-SCR reaction but superior to the parent *** structure–activity relationship analysis indicates that the redistribution of Cu species rather than other factors(e.g.,crystallinity,chemical composition,and porous structure)is responsible for the improved NH3-SCR performance and SO_(2) and H_(2)O *** work offers an effective method to precisely adjust the Cu distribution in preparing the industrial SCR catalysts.

Development and Validation of UHPLC-MS/MS Method for Quantifying of Agarotriose:An Application for Pharmacokinetic,Tissue Distribution,and Excretion Studies in Rats

A sensitive,rapid,and robust ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC-MS/MS)method was established for the first time to quantify agarotriose(A3)in rat plasma,tissues,urine,and feces.A3 and stachyose(internal standard)were separated by a BEH amide column at 65℃under the mobile phase of 10 mmol L^(-1)ammonium ace-tate-acetonitrile(42:58,v/v)with 350µ*** acquisition of transitions was carried out in multiple reaction monitoring(MRM)pattern operating with positive ionization at m/z 509.16>329.15 for A3 and m/z 689.15>527.11 for *** linearity ranges of A3 were 10 to 5000nmolL^(-1)for plasma,20 to 10000nmolL^(-1)for tissues,and 40 to 20000nmolL^(-1)for urine and *** accuracy and precision ranged from 90.9%to 111.6%and 0.7%to 10.1%,*** stability was between 86.1%and 102.5%.The extraction recovery was consistent and *** matrix effect ranged from 1.5%to 11.4%.The pharmacokinetic,tissue dis-tribution,and excretion studies were successfully conducted with the validated *** showed that A3 could be absorbed by rats,and the absolute bioavailability was 6.7%.Furthermore,it was rapidly distributed in rat tissues and mainly eliminated via feces excretion(67.0%)after oral *** intravenous bolus,85.5%was recovered,and renal excretion was the primary path-way(77.6%)for cumulative recovery.

Involvement of mind the gap in the organization of the tracheal apical extracellular matrix in Drosophila and Nilaparvata lugens

The tracheal apical extracellular matrix(aECM)is vital for expansion of the tracheal lumen and supports the normal structure of the lumen to guarantee air entry and circulation in *** it has been found that some cuticular proteins are involved in the organization of the aECM,unidentified factors still ***,we found that mind the gap(Mtg),a predicted chitin-binding protein,is required for the normal formation of the apical chitin matrix of airway tubes in the model holometabolous insect Drosophila *** to chitin,the Mtg protein was linearly arranged in the tracheal dorsal trunk of the tracheae in *** mtg expression in the tracheae seriously affected the viability of larvae and caused tracheal chitin spiral defects in some *** of mtg mutant showed that mtg was required for normal development of tracheae in *** taenidial folds of some mtg mutant embryos were found on either lateral view of tracheal dorsal trunk or internal view of transmission electron microscopy *** abnormal tracheae were not fully filled with gas and accompanied by a reduction in tracheal width,which are characteristic phenotypes of tracheal aECM ***,in the hemimetabolous brown planthopper(BPH)Nilapat'vata lugens,downregulation of NICPAP1-N(a homolog of mtg)also led to the formation of abnormal tracheal chitin spirals and *** results suggest that mtg and its homolog are involved in the proper organization of the tracheal aECMs in flies and BPH,and that this function may be conserved in insects.

Corrosion and passive behaviour of duplex stainless steel 2205 at different cooling rates in a simulated marine-environment solution

The corrosion and passive behaviour of duplex stainless steel 2205 at six cooling rates （1, 5, 10, 15, 20 ℃ s^-1 and water quenched） in a simulated marine-environment solution was investigated using electrochemical measurements of potentiostatic critical pitting temperature, potentiodynamic polarisation curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Mott-Schottky curves. The microstructural evolution and pitting morphologies of the specimens were visualised using an optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The electrochemical responses of the passive film show that passivity of the steel was enhanced as the cooling rate increased; however, the threshold cooling rate was 20 ℃ s^-1, beyond which pitting corrosion resistance remained stable. Based on the analyses of microstructural evolution and pit morphologies, the proportion of the ferrite phase increased with the cooling rate and the ratio of austenite and ferrite was close to 1：1. The pitting size decreased as the cooling rate increased, and most metastable pits on specimens were located in the ferrite phase and on the ferrite-austenite interface. Thus, pitting resistance of steel is governed by the phase that provides the lowest pitting resistance equivalent number. The optimised pitting corrosion resistance for steel 2205 was achieved when it was greater than or equal to 20℃ s^-1.

Monitoring bioaccumulation and toxic effects of hexachlorobenzene using the polyurethane foam unit method in the microbial communities of the Fuhe River,Wuhan

Hexachlorobenzene （HCB） is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon that was widely used for seed dressing in prevention of fungal growth on crops, and also as a component of fireworks, ammunition, and synthetic rubbers. Because of its resistance to degradation and mobility, HCB is widely distributed throughout the environment and is accumulated through food chains in different ecosystems. In this study, a preliminary investigation was carried out on the bioaccumulation and the toxic effects of HCB in the microbial （protozoan in particular） communities in the Fuhe River, Wuhan, a water body receiving industrial wastewaters containing HCB and other pollutants, using the standardized polyurethane foam units （PFU） method. Field samples were taken from eight stations established along the Fuhe River in January and August 2006. The concentration ratios of HCB in microbial communities and in water were 9.66-18.64, and the microbial communities accumulated 13.29-56.88 μg/L of HCB in January and 0.82-10.25 μg/L HCB in August. Correlation analysis showed a negative correlation between the HCB contents in the microbial assemblage, and the number of species and the diversity index of the protozoan communities. This study demonstrated the applicability of the PFU method in monitoring the effects of HCB on the level of microbial communities.

A Ti2Ni/a(Ti)matrix composite coating reinforced by TiC and TiB was prepared on a Ti6A14V substrate by laser *** microstructure of the coating was examined and *** wear behavior of the coating at various sliding speeds was investigated from the perspective of energy dissipation,and the relationship between accumulated dissipated energy(ΣE)and accumulated wear volume(ΣV)was *** indicate a good linear relationship betweenΣE andΣV at low sliding speed(0.1 m·s-1);at higher sliding speed(0.2 m·s-1),the relationship between these parameters follows a quadratic *** results may be explained from the perspective of energy transformation,wherein the friction heat and plastic deformation of the coating surface consume a substantial amount ofΣE at high sliding speed(0.2 m·s-1)and the remainder of the energy is used to produce worn coating *** wear mechanism of the coating involves a combination of microcutting and brittle debonding accompanied by oxidization of the worn surface and formation of Al2O3 adherents.

Long-term medical treatment of patients with severe burns at exposed sites

BACKGROUND Body parts such as the face and hands are highly exposed during daily life and burns may accumulate in these *** addition,residual wounds,scar hyperplasia and contracture often exist in the late stage of a deep burn in these areas,which may affect patients’appearance,movements,and mental ***,inadequate attention has been paid to this issue which can result in problems,such as difficulty in healing,possibility of carcinoma,chronic pain and a heavy mental *** To investigate the long-term medical treatment of patients with severe burns at exposed sites following a mass burn casualty *** A retrospective analysis of 13 patients with severe burns at exposed sites was performed to determine their respective long-term medical treatment.A combined wound dressing scheme consisting of traditional Chinese and Western medicine was introduced to repair residual *** and passive functional exercises with massage,Chinese herbal baths and compression fixation were proposed to ameliorate the condition of the hands.A combination of physical,chemical and photoelectrical measures was adopted for anti-scar treatment.A psychological intervention and recovery guide was provided which corresponded to the patients’psychological *** Compared to patients who did not simultaneously receive the same treatment,patients who underwent systematic treatment recovered with a lower woundinfection rate(P<0.05),a shorter healing time(13.6±3.2 d)compared with(19.1±3.5 d)and more bearable pain during wound dressing at three days,one week and two weeks after a Chinese herbal bath(P<0.05).Satisfactory results were achieved with regard to restored function of patients’joints and blood supply to nerve endings,closure of the eyelids and the size of mouth opening tended to be normal,and only 7.1%of patients were diagnosed with severe scar hyperplasia and contracture deformity compared with 30.7%in the control *** addition,the color,thickness,va
