The frequency responses of a langasite crystal microbalance （LCM） in liquid phase were investigated. It was shown that the LCM possessed much stronger oscillating ability in liquid phase than that of the commonly used quartz crystal microbalance （QCM）. The frequency shifts of the LCM to the changes in mass loading, as well as viscosity and density of the liquid were measured. The LCM was applied to monitor the adsorption process of an ionic liquid film to ethanol vapor.

Starch is the major component of wheat flour and serves as a multifunctional ingredient in food industry. The objective of the present study was to investigate starch granule size distribution of Chinese wheat cultivars, and to compare structure and functionality of starches in four leading cultivars zhongmai 175, CA12092, Lunxuan 987, and zhongyou 206. A wide variation in volume percentages of A- and B-type starch granules among genotypes was observed. Volume percentages of A- and B-type granules had ranges of 68.4–88.9% and 9.7–27.9% in the first cropping seasons, 74.1–90.1% and 7.2–25.3% in the second. Wheat cultivars with higher volume percentages of A- and B-type granules could serve as parents in breeding program for selecting high and low amylose wheat cultivars, respectively. In comparison with the B-type starch granules, the A-type granules starch showed difference in three aspects：（1） higher amount of ordered short-range structure and a lower relative crystallinity,（2） higher gelatinization onset（To） temperatures and enthalpies（ΔH）, and lower gelatinization conclusion temperatures（Tc）,（3） greater peak, though, and final viscosity, and lower breakdown viscosity and pasting temperature. It provides important information for breeders to develop potentially useful cultivars with particular functional properties of their starches suited to specific applications.

As a novel zero-dimensional(0D)material,metal carbides and/or carbonitrides(MXenes)quantum dots(MQDs)show unique photoluminescence properties and excellent ***,due to the limited synthesis methods and research to date,many new features have yet to be ***,to explore their new properties and expand biological applications,chlorine and nitrogen co-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene quantum dots(Cl,N-Ti_(3)C_(2)MQDs)were designed and synthesized,and their hydroxyl radical scavenging properties were investigated for the first time,revealing outstanding ***,N-Ti_(3)C_(2)MQDs was directly stripped from bulk Ti_(3)Al C_(2)by electrochemical etching,while N and Cl are successfully introduced to carbon skeleton and Ti boundaries in the etching process by electrochemical reactions between selected electrolytes and Ti_(3)C_(2)skeleton,*** obtained Cl,N-Ti_(3)C_(2)MQDs exhibit large surface-to-volume ratio due to small particle size(ca.3.45 nm)and excellent higher scavenging activity(93.3%)and lower usage(12.5μg/m L)towards hydroxyl radicals than the previous reported graphene-based *** underlying mechanism of scavenging activity was also studied based on the reduction experiment with potassium permanganate(KMnO_(4)).The reducing ability of the intrinsic Ti_(3)C_(2)structure and electron donation of double dopants are the main contributors to the outstanding scavenging activity.

Reservoir sedimentation dynamics were interpreted using Cs-137 activity, particle size and rainfall erosivity analysis in conjunetion with sediment profile coring. Two sediment cores were retrieved from the Changshou reservoir of Chongqing, which was dammed in 1956 at the outlet of Longxi catchment in the Three Gorges Area using a gravity corer equipped with an aerylie tube with an inner diameter of 6 em. The extracted cores were sectioned at 2 cm intervals. All sediment core samples were dried, sieved （〈2 mm） and weighed. 137Cs activity was measured by y-ray spectrometry. The particle size of the core samples was measured using laser particle size granulometry. Rainfall erosivity was calculated using daily rainfall data from meteorological records and information on soil conservation history was collated to help interpret temporal sedimentation trends. The peak fallout of 137Cs in 1963 appeared at a depth of 84 cm in core A and 56 cm in core B. The peaks of sand contents were related to the peaks of rainfall erosivity which were recorded in 1982, 1989, 1998 and 2005, respectively. Sedimentation rates were calculated according to the sediment profile chronological controls of 1956, 1963, 1982, 1989, 1998 and 2oo5. The highest sedimentation rate was around 2.0 cm·a^-1 between 1982 and 1988 when the Chinese national reform and the Household Responsibility System were implemented, leading to accelerated soil erosion in the Longxi catchment. Since 1990s, and particularly since 2005, sedimentation rates clearly decreased, since a number of soil conservation programs have been carried out in the catchment. The combined use of ^137Cs chronology, particle size and rainfall erosivity provided a simple basis for reconstructing reservoir sedimentation dynamics in the context of both physical processes and soil restoration. Its advantages include avoiding the need for full blown sediment yield reconstruction and the concomitant consideration of core correlation and corrections

Free water available in calcium aluminate cement(CAC)-bonded castables is crucial for the hydration of CAC and the conversion of hydration products in the curing and drying processes,as both the hydration and conversion reactions are dissolution–precipitation *** elucidate the effect of different levels of free water loss upon the hydration of CAC,the conversion of hydration products and the mechanical strength of the CAC-bonded castables,the CAC-bonded castables were subjected to sealed and unsealed curing conditions at 50℃ and drying at 110℃.The results demonstrate that the fast removal of free water during unsealed curing would hinder the conversion from 2CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·8H_(2)O to 3CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·6H_(2)O and consequently prevent the deterioration of *** a comparison,although sealed-cured samples have less water loss and high degree of hydration of CAC,they still show lower strength than the unsealed samples after *** following drying process further accelerates the hydration of residual calcium aluminate clinkers for both the sealed and unsealed samples,but still does not favor the conversion from 2CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·8H_(2)O to 3CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·6H_(2)O in the unsealed-cured samples.
