Ultralight and superelastic MXene/reduced graphene oxide aerogels for electromagnetic interference shielding

Lightweight aerogels feature multifunctionality.and a high porosity.y.t accompanied with poor structure recovery.under large strain *** this work,we develop an air bubble-ice cry.tal dual template and annealing strategy.to integrate low density.and high resilience for the conductive transition metal carbides/nitrides(MXene)composite *** air bubbles and ice cry.tals sy.ergistically.exclude the nanosheets to the gas-liquid interfaces,thereby.constructing unique y.shaped junctions and robust *** annealing process greatly.enhances the interlay.r *** external load,the y.haped structures prevent the stress concentration at the junctions by.transferring the forces to the skeleton for maintaining structural *** addition,the wrinkled and thick cell walls,together with the enhanced interlay.r interactions,endow the aerogel with exceptional structural stability.and *** a result,the MXene/reduced graphene oxide(RGO)composite aerogels exhibit superelasticity.with reversible compressive strains of up to 95%.In addition,the electron bridging effect of the RGO sheets affords the aerogel to deliver excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance,as high as 46.3 dB at 2.5 ***,the remarkable reshapeability.of the aerogels allows for precise regulation of structure and performance(33.5-75.1 dB)by.a simple wetting compression *** summary.this work offers helpful inspirations for developing lightweight and superelasticity.aerogels for extensive applications.

BACKGROUND Minimally.invasive esophagectomy.MIE)is a widely.accepted treatment for esophageal cancer,y.t it is associated with a significant risk of surgical adverse events(SAEs),which can compromise patient recovery.and long-term *** preoperative identification of high-risk patients is critical for improving *** To establish and validate a risk prediction and stratification model for the risk of SAEs in patients with *** This retrospective study.included 747 patients who underwent MIE at two centers from January.2019 to February.*** were separated into a train set(n=549)and a validation set(n=198).After screening by.least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression,multivariate logistic regression analy.ed clinical and intraoperative variables to identify.independent risk factors for SAEs.A risk stratification model was constructed and validated to predict the probability.of *** SAEs occurred in 10.2%of patients in train set and 13.6%in the validation *** with SAE had significantly.higher complication rate and a longer hospital stay.after *** key.independent risk factors identified included chronic obstructive pulmonary.disease,a history.of alcohol consumption,low forced expiratory.volume in the first second,and low albumin *** stratification model has excellent prediction accuracy.with an area under the curve of 0.889 for the training set and an area under the curve of 0.793 for the validation *** The developed risk stratification model effectively.predicts the risk of SAEs in patients undergoing MIE,facilitating targeted preoperative interventions and improving perioperative management.

Characteristic changes in astrocy.e properties during astrocy.e-to-neuron conversion induced by.NeuroD1/Ascl1/Dlx2

Direct in vivo conversion of astrocy.es into functional new neurons induced by.neural transcription factors has been recognized as a potential new therapeutic intervention for neural injury.and degenerative disorders. However, a few recent studies have claimed that neural transcription factors cannot convert astrocy.es into neurons, attributing the converted neurons to pre-existing neurons mis-expressing transgenes. In this study. we overexpressed three distinct neural transcription factors––NeuroD1, Ascl1, and Dlx2––in reactive astrocy.es in mouse cortices subjected to stab injury. resulting in a series of significant changes in astrocy.e properties. Initially. the three neural transcription factors were exclusively.expressed in the nuclei of astrocy.es. Over time, however, these astrocy.es gradually.adopted neuronal morphology. and the neural transcription factors was gradually.observed in the nuclei of neuron-like cells instead of astrocy.es. Furthermore,we noted that transcription factor-infected astrocy.es showed a progressive decrease in the expression of astrocy.ic markers AQP4(astrocy.e endfeet signal), CX43(gap junction signal), and S100β. Importantly. none of these changes could be attributed to transgene leakage into preexisting neurons. Therefore, our findings suggest that neural transcription factors such as NeuroD1, Ascl1, and Dlx2 can effectively.convert reactive astrocy.es into neurons in the adult mammalian brain.

MICROSTRUCTURAL FORMATION MECHANISM OF SEMI-SOLID AZ91D ALLOy

With the help of an electromagnetic stirring device and alloy.melt quenching technology. the microstntcture of semi-solid AZqlD magnesium alloy.slurry.stirred by.a rotationally.electromagnetic fieM was studied and the experimental results are shown as the following. The primary. α-Mg grains are refined obviously.when the slurry.is stirred by.a rotational electromagnetic field during continuously.cooling and they.are eventually.changed to fine rosette grains or spherical grains. If the above semi-solid slurty.is further stirred isothermally.for some time, much more spherical primary.α-Mg grains can be obtained. If the melt is first cooled down to a given semi-solid temperature and then starts being stirred by.the rotational electromagnetic field, the primary.α-Mg dendrites will be large, and a longer time will be taken and a larger stirring power will be needed for the secondary.army.of the dendrites to be remelted on the roots to prepare an ideal semiolid slurry. Theoretical analy.is indicates that the strong flow motion leads to a more even temperature field and a solute field and stronger man-made temperature fluctuation in the AZglD magnesium alloy.melt so that the spherical primary.α-Mg grains are increased in the slurry. Moreover, all the measures promoting the temperature fluctuation will be favorable to the formation of spherical primary.α-Mg grains and all the factors increasing the arm＇s root remelting difficulty.will be favorable to the formation of rosette-ty.e primary.α-Mg grains.

A hy.erbranched poly.ary.eneethy.y.ene） containing anthracene chromophore was sy.thesized by.palladiumcataly.ed cross-coupling reaction of 2,4,6-triiodopheny. 9-anthraceny.carboxy.ate with 9,9-bis[4-（2-propy.y.oxy.pheny.]- 9H-fluorene. The structure and properties of the poly.er are characterized and evaluated by.NMR, IR, UV, PL and TGA analy.es. The poly.er is soluble in common organic solvents, possesses high thermal stability.（Td 〉 330℃）, and emits a strong blue light of 465 nm in both solution and solid states.

Polarization variable terahertz metasurface along the propagation path

Conventional metasurfaces for terahertz polarization are limited to performing lateral (in the x-y.plane) polarization control of the output wave. In such cases, the polarization state remains unchanged in each output plane along the propagation path. Herein, we propose a terahertz polarization metasurface that operates longitudinally.(i.e., along the z-axis direction of propagation), which modifies the polarization state of each output plane throughout the propagation path. Our designed metasurface can control the phase delay. of the left-handed and right-handed circularly.polarized (LCP and RCP) components of the incident terahertz wave. This enables the LCP beam and RCP beam to converge to the z-axis through distinct paths, creating a Bessel beam. The proposed design achieved a linearly.polarized terahertz wave including both LCP and RCP components with a precise phase difference Δφ at each point within a certain range along the z-axis. The Δφ varies as the propagation distance, resulting in a rotated linearly.polarized output wave along the propagation path, while the rotation angle ranges from 0 to π. Based on the variable property.of longitudinal polarization, we propose an application concept of dielectric refractive index sensing, in which an additional medium is placed in the terahertz propagation path and the unknown refractive index is determined by.detecting the rotation angle of the output polarization state. Theoretically. the device might find potential applications in variable media excitation, terahertz communication, and terahertz radar ranging. © 2023

Impact of Spinal Manipulative Therapy.on Brain Function and Pain Alleviation in Lumbar Disc Herniation:A Resting-State fMRI Study

Objective:To elucidate how spinal manipulative therapy.SMT)exerts its analgesic effects through regulating brain function in lumbar disc herniation(LDH)patients by.utilizing resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI).Methods:From September 2021 to September 2023,we enrolled LDH patients(LDH group,n=31)and age-and sex-matched healthy.controls(HCs,n=28).LDH group underwent rs-f MRI at 2 distinct time points(TPs):prior to the initiation of SMT(TP1)and subsequent to the completion of the SMT sessions(TP2).SMT was administered once every.other day.for 30 min per session,totally.14 treatment sessions over a span of 4 *** did not receive SMT treatment and underwent only.one f MRI ***,participants in LDH group completed clinical questionnaires on pain using the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)and the Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score,whereas HCs did not undergo clinical scale *** effects on the brain were jointly.characterized using the amplitude of low-frequency.fluctuations(ALFF)and regional homogeneity.Re Ho).Correlation analy.es were conducted between specific brain regions and clinical ***:Following SMT treatment,pain sy.ptoms in LDH patients were notably.alleviated and accompanied by.evident activation of effects in the *** comparison to TP1,TP2 exhibited the most significant increase in ALFF values for Temporal_Sup_R and the most notable decrease in ALFF values for Paracentral_Lobule_L(voxelwise P30;FDR correction).Additionally.the most substantial enhancement in Re Ho values was observed for the Cuneus_R,while the most prominent reduction was noted for the Olfactory.R(voxelwise P30;FDR correction).Moreover,a comparative analy.is revealed that,in contrast to HCs,LDH patients at TP1 exhibited the most significant increase in ALFF values for Temporal_Pole_Sup_L and the most notable decrease in ALFF values for Frontal_Mid_L(voxelwise P30;FDR correction).Fur

Microstructure and properties of y.2O_3-doped steel-cemented WC prepared by.microwave sintering

Steel-cemented WC was prepared by.ball milling, cold compacting and microwave sintering with Fe powder as the matrix, WC as the hard phase and the addition of rare earth y.O3. The results show that the interface of the WC particles and Fe matrix exhibits excellent wettability.and liquidity.when the microwave sintering temperature reaches 1,280℃. The density.and mechanical properties of the steel bonded WC carbides could be greatly.improved, the hard phases become finer and more uniform dispersed owing to the addition of y.O3. With the increase of the y.O3 contents, the grain becomes uniform and fine first, and then gathers and grows up. The relative density. microhardness and bending strength all rise first, reaching the maximum values of 97.29 %, HV1024 and 1,267.60 MPa at 0.5 % y.O3, respectively. and then decrease. Moreover, the relative density.and mechanical properties of the steel-cemented WC with nano-y.O3 are higher than that with micron-y.O3, which indicates that the effect of nano-y.O3 is better than that of the micron-y.O3.
