Ignition processes and characteristics of charring conductive polymers with a cavity geometry in precombustion chamber for applications in micro/nano satellite hybrid rocket motors

The arc ignition system based on charring polymers has advantages of simple structure,low ignition power consumption and multiple ignitions,which bringing it broadly application prospect in hybrid propulsion system of micro/nano satellite.However,charring polymers alone need a relatively high input voltage to achieve pyrolysis and ignition,which increases the burden and cost of the power system of micro/nano satellite in practical application.Adding conductive substance into charring polymers can effectively decrease the conducting voltage which can realize low voltage and low power consumption repeated ignition of arc ignition system.In this paper,a charring conductive polymer ignition grain with a cavity geometry in precombustion chamber,which is composed of PLA and multiwall carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)was proposed.The detailed ignition processes were analyzed and two different ignition mechanisms in the cavity of charring conductive polymers were revealed.The ignition characteristics of charring conductive polymers were also investigated at different input voltages,ignition grain structures,ignition locations and injection schemes in a visual ignition combustor.The results demonstrated that the ignition delay and external energy required for ignition were inversely correlated with the voltages applied to ignition grain.Moreover,the incremental depth of cavity shortened the ignition delay and external energy required for ignition while accelerated the propagation of flame.As the depth of cavity increased from 2 to 6 mm(at 50 V),the time of flame propagating out of ignition grain changed from 235.6 to 108 ms,and values of mean ignition delay time and mean external energy required for ignition decreased from 462.8 to 320 ms and 16.2 to 10.75 J,respectively.The rear side of the cavity was the ideal ignition position which had a shorter ignition delay and a faster flame propagation speed in comparison to other ignition positions.Compared to direct injection scheme,swirling injection provided a more favorable flow field

Tumor progression is closely related to tumor tissue metabolism and reshaping of the microenvironment. Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), a representative hypoxic tumor, has a heterogeneous internal metabolic environment. To clarify the relationship between different metabolic regions and the tumor immune microenvironment (TME) in OSCC, Single cell (SC) and spatial transcriptomics (ST) sequencing of OSCC tissues were performed. The proportion of TME in the ST data was obtained through SPOTlight deconvolution using SC and GSE103322 data. The metabolic activity of each spot was calculated using scMetabolism,and k-means clustering was used to classify all spots into hyper-, normal-, or hypometabolic regions. CD4T cell infiltration and TGF-βexpression is higher in the hypermetabolic regions than in the others. Through CellPhoneDB and NicheNet cell-cell communication analysis, it was found that in the hypermetabolic region, fibroblasts can utilize the lactate produced by glycolysis of epithelial cells to transform into inflammatory cancer-associated fibroblasts (iCAFs), and the increased expression of HIF1A in iCAFs promotes the transcriptional expression of CXCL12. The secretion of CXCL12 recruits regulatory T cells (Tregs), leading to Treg infiltration and increased TGF-β secretion in the microenvironment and promotes the formation of a tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment. This study delineates the coordinate work axis of epithelial cells-iCAFs-Tregs in OSCC using SC, ST and TCGA bulk data, and highlights potential targets for therapy.

Design and test of the arc-shaped nail-tooth roller residual film recovery machine from the sowing layer

Residual films on the sowing layer produced after mulching in Xinjiang farmland,harm the sowing quality and root growth of crops.In this study,a sowing layer residual film recovery machine based on a radial plate arc-shaped nail-tooth roller structure was designed.Meanwhile,the key device structures were designed and the main working parameters were analyzed.Then,taking the working depth,the forward speed of the machine and the rotation speed of the nail tooth roller as the test factors,and the film collection rate and film intertwining rate as the test indicators,the single factor tests and the Box-Behnken response surface tests were carried out to evaluate the performance of the sowing layer residual film recovery machine.Consequently,the results showed that the order of significant factors was the working depth,the forward speed of the machine,and the rotation speed of the nail tooth roller.Besides,the optimal working parameters were determined,which the working depth,the forward speed of the machine,and the rotation speed of the nail tooth roller were 100 mm,4.8 km/h,and 49.3 r/min,respectively.Moreover,the predicted value of the film collection rate was 69.20%.Finally,the verification test was taken with the optimal working parameter,and the results showed that the film collection rate was 66.84%,and the film intertwining rate was 1.39%.The relative error between the test value and the predicted value of the film collection rate was 3.40%.It indicated that the machine can perform the collection of sowing layer residual films.This study can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the design of new sowing layer residual film machines.

Stable expression and control parameters in the numerical simulation of unsaturated flow

The Richards’equation describes the flow phenomenon in unsaturated porous media and is essential to hydrology and environmental science.This study evaluated the numerical stability of two different forms of the Richards’equation.Sensitivity analyses were performed to investigate the control parameters of the equation.The results show that the h-form Richards’equation has better applicability for calculating variable saturation flows than theθ-form Richards’equation.For the h-form Richards’equation,the hydraulic conductivity of the soil in the low-suction range and the specific moisture capacity in the high-suction range primarily influenced the solution.In addition,sensitivity analyses indicated that the saturated hydraulic conductivity,initial condition,and air-entry pressure have a higher sensitivity to the simulation results than the saturated water content,rainfall intensity,and decline rate of hydraulic conductivity.Moreover,their correctness needs to be guaranteed first in numerical simulations.The research findings can provide a helpful reference for improving the reliability of numerical simulations of unsaturated flows.

Promoting electrocatalytic alcohols oxidation coupled with H_(2) production via ligand intercalation strategy

Electrochemical alcohol oxidation,the alternate of oxygen evolution reaction,has been recognized as an effective way to produce value-added chemicals coupled with H2 production.However,the current researches still suffer from the low reaction rate and Faradaic efficiency(FE)that limits the overall efficiency.Herein,we report a ligand intercalation strategy to enhance the current density of alcohol electrooxidation by intercalating sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDS)in the interlayer of Co(OH)_(2)catalyst(Co(OH)_(2)-SDS).For instance,the Co(OH)_(2)-SDS shows obviously enhanced current density for glycerol electrooxidation than that of pure Co(OH)_(2).The corresponding glycerol conversion rate and H2 production rate reach 0.35 mmol·cm^(−2)·h^(−1)and 9.1 mL·cm^(−2)·h^(−1)at 1.42 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode,which are 2.2-and 1.9-fold higher than that of Co(OH)_(2).The yield of formate reaches 86.6%with selectivity of 95.3%at high glycerol conversion of 95.1%(with FE of 83.3%for glycerol oxidation).The Co(OH)_(2)-SDS is demonstrated efficient for different alcohols with enhanced performance.We confirmed that the intercalation of SDS in Co(OH)_(2)can promote the generation and exposure of CoOOH reactive sites,and also facilitate the adsorption of alcohol,thus enabling high reaction rate.

Improvement of reservoir quality of ultra-deep tight sandstones by tectonism and fluid:A case study of Keshen gas field in Tarim Basin,western China

The Keshen gas field is one of the most important natural gas supply sources in the Tarim basin,western China.The main gas producing interval there is the Lower Cretaceous Bashijiqike Formation(K1bs),it is an ultra-deep tight reservoir whose buried depth exceeds 6000 m,and it shows a low matrix porosity(<10%)and extremely low matrix permeability(<0.1mD).However,this reservoir can supply extremely high and stable gas production due to improvement of reservoir quality by tectonism and fluid.Based on tectonic evolution analysis by plenty of lab data of core plugs or thin sections,the enhancement models of tectonism and fluid are built,evidence suggests both tectonism and fluid improve the reservoir quality greatly.Tectonic evolution produces lots of natural fractures in 3stages which promote the ultra-deep tight reservoir permeability 10–200 times,then,testing results of new boreholes without fracturing show reservoir permeability underground can reach 20 mD.Furthermore,fluid dissolution increases reservoir porosity 1–2 times,the main dissolved mineral is feldspar,all fluid dissolution came from the unconformity controlling the dissolution distance.Tectonism and fluid interact on each other:Tectonism controls fracture distribution and types of diagenic fluid in reservoir,but fluids influence fracture cements and dissolution.Both tectonic folding and the fluid flow control the sweet point reservoir located in upper 150 m formation.

ZIF-8-based micro-arc oxidation composite coatings enhanced the corrosion resistance and superhydrophobicity of a Mg alloy

Mg alloys are considered the most promising engineering materials because of their unique properties.However,the uncontrolled corrosion rate of these alloys limits their applications.Therefore,in this study,a micro-arc oxidation layer was used as a transition layer to“directly”grow a zinc-based metal-organic framework(MOF)composite coating on the surface of a Mg alloy(AZ91D).Herein,the two zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF-8)coatings with different morphologies were separately prepared by homologous metal oxide induction and a one-step in-situ growth method.The superhydrophobic composite coating showed strong hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties,which could prevent the penetration of water and corrosive ions(Cl^(−))into the surface of AZ91D.Electrochemical tests demonstrated that the super-hydrophobic composite coatings greatly enhanced the corrosion resistance of AZ91D,and the corrosion current density decreased from 10^(−5)to 10^(−9)A/cm^(2).These results indicate that the ZIF-8 coatings are beneficial for improving the hydrophobicity and enhancing the corrosion resistance of Mg alloys.Therefore,MOF composite coatings provide a new strategy that can be used to prepare multifunctional anticorrosion coatings on metal substrates.

Production, structure, and bioactivity of polysaccharide isolated from Tremella fuciformis

Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide(TFP) is an important bioactive substance in T. fuciformis, which contributes to its application as medicine and food. In the present work, TFP was extracted with enzymatic combined with wet beating and its physicochemical as well as biological activities were investigated in the study. The result showed that the purity of TFP1 reached 92.14%(m/m). The TFP1, purified by DEAE column, had a molecular weight(Mw) of 5.8 × 10^(3) k Da and consisted mainly of mannose, xylose, fucose, glucose and glucuronic acid at a molar ratio of 1.91 : 0.1 : 2.49 : 6.23 : 0.95. The structure of TFP1 was preliminarily investigated by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and atomic force microscope(AFM) analysis. Moreover, the antioxidant assays showed that TFP1 could scavenge DPPH, ABTS+ and hydroxyl radicals. The excellent water holding capacity of TFP1 implied its application in the food, pharmaceutical andcosmetic industries.

Patient-derived xenograft platform of OSCC： a renewable human bio-bank for preclinical cancer research and a new co-clinical model for treatment optimization

Advances in next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics have begun to reveal the complex genetic landscape in human cancer genomes, including oral squamous cell carcinoma （OSCC）. Sophisticated preclinical models that fully represent intra- and inter-tumoral heterogeneity are required to understand the molecular diversity of cancer and achieve the goal of personalized therapies. Patient-derived xenograft （PDX） models generated from human tumor samples that can retain the histological and genetic features of their donor tumors have been shown to be the preferred preclinical tool in translational cancer research compared with other conventional preclinical models. Specifically, genetically well-defined PDX models can be applied to accelerate targeted antitumor drug development and biomarker discovery. Recently, we have successfully established and characterized an OSCC PDX panel as part of our tumor bio-bank for translational cancer research. In this paper, we discuss the establishment, characterization, and preclinical applications of the PDX models. In particular, we focus on the classification and applications of the PDX models based on validated annotations, including clinicopathological features, genomic profiles, and pharmacological testing information. We also explore the translational value of this well-annotated PDX panel in the development of co-clinical trials for patient stratification and treatment optimization in the near future. Although various limitations still exist, this preclinical approach should be further tested and improved.
